A New ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ Trailer Teases An Exploration Of Kanye West’s Journey So Far

Ye (aka Kanye West) is on a lot of people’s minds right now, for reasons including Kim Kardashian drama, Julia Fox, and the upcoming Donda 2. On top of that, there’s also the upcoming Jeen-Yuhs documentary series, which is set to premiere on Netflix on February 16. Ahead of that, Netflix has shared a new trailer.

The trailer features a voiceover from co-director Clarence “Coodie” Simmons, in which he says, “When I first put the camera on this up-and-coming producer in ’98, I knew he was destined for greatness. The goal was to see how far his dreams would take him, but I had no idea where life would take us next. It felt like the bigger Kanye got, the farther we grew apart, but there was more to Kanye’s story that I needed to tell.”

There’s also a quote from West in which he explains what he thinks are the reasons behind his success, saying “I just think it was in God’s plan. I think He just has me here for a reason and I have something to say. There’s people that might be better programmers, better rappers. The way I think I really won is I had the heart. If I do what I’m supposed to do, people gonna look back like, ‘Man, remember dude used to just make beats for people?”

Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West’s Constantly Attacking Her Is More Harmful Than North’s TikTok

After Kanye West’s latest jab at ex-wife Kim Kardashian over letting their daughter North use TikTok “against his will,” Kardashian has had enough. On her own Instagram story, she defended her decision to share a joint (adult-managed) account with North and challenged Kanye for his “obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation.”

Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision – because it brings her happiness. Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all. From the beginning, I have wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship because it is what is best for our children and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way.

I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully, he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.

In addition to his censuring North’s TikTok, Kanye has claimed that Kim tried to keep him from attending North’s birthday and threatened to beat up Pete Davidson for his public relationship with Kardashian.

Kanye West Requests You ‘Do Not Ask Me To Do A F*cking NFT’

Some in the music world are getting deep into NFTs, like Kyle, Nas, and Eminem. When it comes to Ye (aka Kanye West), though, it looks like he’s staying away from non-fungible tokens and would like people to stop asking him about them. That said, he doesn’t seem completely closed off to delving into NFTs some day.

On Instagram last night, Ye shared a photo of a handwritten message that reads, “My focus is on building real products in the real world. Real food, real clothes, real shelter. Do not ask me to do a f*cking NFT. Ye. Ask me later.” He reiterated his point in the post’s caption, writing, “STOP ASKING ME TO DO NFT’s I’M NOT FINNA CO-SIGN … FOR NOW I’M NOT ON THAT WAVE I MAKE MUSIC AND PRODUCTS IN THE REAL WORLD.”

Some notable folks took to the comments to share their thoughts. Wacka Flocka Flame commented, “It’s not a wave Ye.” Rapsody also dropped some diamond emojis and added, “Solid!” Keri Hilson wrote, “MOOOOOD! but… ‘ask me later’ [laughing emoji].” The NFL’s Dez Bryant also chimed in, “This message alone let’s me know he don’t understand the full capabilities of an NFT….”

Meanwhile, Ye has kept busy lately, as he’s been doing things like getting in the studio with Marilyn Manson, spending time with Julia Fox, and getting rid of a tank he had laying around.

Marilyn Manson Is Reportedly Working Closely With Kanye West On ‘Donda 2’

At the upcoming Grammy Awards, Marilyn Manson secured himself a nomination thanks to his work on Kanye West’s album Donda. Ye received backlash for working with Manson in light of allegations of sexual assault and abuse he faces, but it appears that hasn’t deterred West from containing to work with Manson, who is reportedly involved in the making of the upcoming Donda 2.

Digital Nas, a producer who worked on the first Donda album, told Rolling Stone, “I see Marilyn a lot in the studio. Like, every day I go to the studio, Marilyn is there working on Donda 2.” He continued, “[West] doesn’t want Marilyn to play rap beats. He wants Marilyn to play what he makes, and then Ye will take parts of that and sample parts of that and use parts of that, like he did [generally when making] Yeezus. […] He has some producers from Yeezus working on Donda 2 this time around, [as well as] Marilyn, me, a bunch of producers from Donda 1.”

He also noted that West and Manson have “a crazy dynamic,” saying, “I would have never, ever thought that would happen, but it happened.”

Furthermore, Nas speculated why West decided to work with Manson, saying, “I think it’s moreso that Ye is coming from a standpoint of like, ‘We all make mistakes.’ I think that’s maybe why he had DaBaby and Marilyn at that one show. I’m just assuming it is from a standpoint of like, ‘We’re all sinners. We all make mistakes. We shouldn’t point the finger at someone for the mistakes they’ve made or something like that.’”

Kanye West Won’t Be Allowed To Tour In Australia If He’s Not Fully Vaccinated

In less than a month, Kanye West will release his eleventh album, Donda 2, the sequel to the chart-topper he dropped back in August. The rapper announced a release date of February 22, which he somewhat explained on Instagram, and revealed that Future would executive produce. It also appears that West plans to hold a tour, with some sources (according to Complex) saying that he plans to bring his talents to Australia in March. But the nation’s prime minister has other ideas..

During a recent news conference, Prime Minister Scott Morrison left West with an ultimatum: get vaxxed or be banned from the country. “The rules are you have to be fully vaccinated,” Morrison said during the conference, according to The Independent. “They apply to everybody, as people have seen most recently,” alluding to the deportation of tennis star Novak Djokovic, who was kicked out of the country prior to the Australian Open for being unvaccinated. “It doesn’t matter who you are, they are the rules,” Morrison added. “Follow the rules, you can come. You don’t follow the rules, you can’t.”

It’s yet to be confirmed that Kanye will even head to Australia. During an appearance on the podcast Drink Champs in November, West revealed that he’d receive one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but he did not share any plans to get the second. “I traveled to Paris, like, a couple weeks ago and I had to go through Lisbon because you can go through Lisbon without being vaccinated,” he said. “I only have one of the shots, so I’m half-ccinated.”

Apparently, Julia Fox Also Dated One Of Kanye West’s Biggest Frenemies

While some of us are mostly invested in Kanye West as a musician, there are apparently many, many people who care a great deal — perhaps even too much — about his love life. Headlines about the controversial rapper/producer have revolved around his nascent relationship with actress Julia Fox lately, as Ye works to move on from his divorce from Kim Kardashian West.

Another thing people are truly interested in is Kanye’s passive-aggressive feud with Drake. While the two rappers apparently buried the hatchet at their Free Larry Hoover concert in LA last year, they’ve appeared to settle their differences in the past before something sets one or the other off and they go back to taking petty subliminal jabs at each other in their music.

Here’s where that particular Venn diagram of interests intersects: According to Page Six, Drake and Ye have yet another thing in common. They both dated Julia Fox. A source told Page Six that Drake DMed Fox shortly after her role in 2019’s Uncut Gems, and when her prior relationship with Peter Artemiev broke up, the two spent some time together in New York in 2020, leading to drinks, a workplace drop-in, and a flight to LA, where Drake allegedly bought a pair of Birkin bags for Fox.

Fox was shacking up with Drake in Toronto the COVID-19 pandemic finally prompted lockdown measures, which sent Fox back home to the US due to the imminent closure of the US/Canada border. Fox reunited with Artemiev before meeting Kanye on New Year’s Eve, and the rest, as they say, is history. Whether this revelation leads to another round of back-and-forth between Drake and Ye remains to be seen, but considering Kanye is supposed to release his next album, Donda 2, next month, there might not be much longer to wait to find out.

Kanye West Announces The Palindromic Release Date For ‘Donda 2’

Not much is known about Kanye West’s upcoming album Donda 2 but at least now we know when it’s allegedly coming out. The mercurial producer/rapper shared the release date with a fiery Instagram post depicting his childhood home going up in flames — a repeated image from the rollout for the original Donda album — with the date “2/22/22.” The palindromic nature of the release is about par for the course for Ye, who I’m honestly surprised didn’t already fall heavily into numerology like Jim Carrey in The Number 23. He also says the album’s executive produced by Future.

Of course, with Kanye, release dates are more like guidelines than actual rules — shout out to The Pirate’s Code. The original Donda blew through three different release dates over the course of the year and a half in which Ye continued to tease it. This was after the chaotic release schedules of his 2018 G.O.O.D Music projects with Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Teyana Taylor, and Nas, which all arrived well after their promised release dates. So, while 2/22/22 makes for a cool-sounding release date, knowing Kanye’s penchant for tinkering, it’s probably best not to get your hopes up. Oddly enough, that’s also the release date for Kanye’s Yeezy collaboration with LA streetwear brand Skid Row Fashion Show, so perhaps he’s timing all these things together in the hopes of increasing exposure all around.

As for what the album will include… well… that’s anyone’s guess. He first teased the album with a text thread from Moneybagg Yo, so the Memphis rapper could feature on the project, and Ye did release the Pete Davidson-threatening “Eazy” this month, but that doesn’t mean either will actually appear on the album. The only thing that remains for sure is Kanye’s appetite for drama, and with this announcement, the latest round of rollout theatre can truly begin.

Charlamagne Tha God Thinks Kanye’s Pete Davidson Diss On ‘Eazy’ Was ‘Corny As Hell’

While Kanye West’s latest single has understandably caused consternation among members of his ex’s household, with Pete Davidson reportedly increasing his security after Ye threatened to beat him up on “Eazy” and Kim Kardashian supposedly barring him from his daughter’s birthday party (he later posted a video from the party, suggesting it wasn’t that serious). However, there’s at least one other person who wasn’t feeling Ye’s “Eazy” bar: radio host Charlamagne Tha God, who called the line “corny as hell” in a new episode of his podcast.

In the song, Kanye references the 2003 collision that left his mouth wired shut (something he rapped about on “Through The Wire”), rhyming, “God saved me from that crash/Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.” Charlamagne, who hosts the Brilliant Idiots podcast with comedian Andrew Schulz, didn’t varnish his opinion of the line. “I thought Kanye’s bar to Pete [Davidson] was corny as hell,” he said. “I didn’t like it. What happened to Jesus? What happened to God? You weren’t even cursing on your records and now all of a sudden you wanna beat up Pete Davidson?”

Interestingly enough, Kanye went to Charlamagne for a two-hour interview when he was under fire for supporting Donald Trump in 2018 and needed a sympathetic outlet (consider that on the same day, TMZ’s Van Lathan practically cursed him out on live television for his recent shenanigans), but in recent months, it seems even Charlamagne’s patience has worn thin. In August last year, the radio host slated Kanye’s album Donda, calling it “lackluster,” and now, he’s unsubtly calling out the corniness of Kanye’s latest antics, which is especially unsettling for making me agree with Charlamagne for once.

Kim Kardashian Reportedly Refutes Kanye West’s Claim About A Second Ray J Sex Tape

In a recent interview, Ye (aka Kanye West) claimed he recovered a laptop from Ray J that contained a second sex tape Kim Kardashian and Ray J had made together, saying, “I met this man at the airport, then got on the red-eye, came back… delivered it to her at 8 a.m. in the morning. I gave it to her, and she cried when she saw it. You know why she cried when she saw that laptop? It represents how much she’s been used… It represents how much people didn’t love her, they just saw her as a commodity.”

While Kardashian isn’t denying the story of Ye getting the laptop for her, it appears the computer may not have actually had another sex tape on it.

People reports they obtained a statement from a Kardashian representative that reads, “After review, there was nothing sexual unseen, only footage on the plane on the way to Mexico and footage at a club and restaurant on the same trip. Kim remains firm in her belief that there is no new second tape that exists. After 20 years, she truly wishes to move on from this chapter with focus instead on the positive things she continues to do as a mother, entrepreneur and advocate for justice reform.”

In a 2021 interview, Kardashian told The Los Angeles Times of the original tape, “I do think that, obviously, as producers, I’m sure they loved it. And loved [us] wanting to talk about the elephant in the room. And I probably wouldn’t have, unless it was for the show. Sometimes I feel like, ‘OK, I know I should probably deal and get this over with. Someone’s gonna ask me, so I might as well just go ahead and do it.’ In a way, filming has helped us deal with things, instead of sweeping them under the rug. At the end of the day, I was always open and honest and wanted to share whatever I was going through. I wasn’t gonna hold back.”

Kanye West Wants The Paparazzi To Give A Percentage Of Their Profits To The Celebrities They Photograph

Kanye West has always shown his distaste for the paparazzi. Back in 2013, the rapper was sentenced to two years of probation, 250 hours of community service, and a restitution payment for attacking a photographer outside of Los Angeles International Airport. He’s currently under investigation for punching a photographer in Los Angeles. But Kanye is looking to heal the rift between celebrities and paparazzi, as he revealed during a conversation with a group of photographers shortly after he arrived at Miami International Airport on Saturday.

“Right now y’all get to shoot us without having to pay,” he said. “Imma change that. I’m not saying it in a negative way. It’s just like, right now, it’s just really one-sided. You guys can follow us, you guys can stand [outside] a hotel at any given time—you don’t give us any percentage of what you’re making off of us, off of our kids, and I’m gonna change that.”

“We all gotta make money together … It can’t be a one-sided thing. That’s why it feels vulture-like,” he continued. “Look, if I’m just with my kids, I say I don’t want you to shoot me, then that’s just something y’all gotta respect as a man ’cause if we can get that money together, but we gotta have a conversation. I’m gonna make sure we get our rights. We’re very important. We’re real people, also.”

Recently Kanye demanded a final edit approval on his upcoming Netflix series, Jeen-Yuhs.
