Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures 1’ Debuts Atop The ‘Billboard’ 200 Chart Despite Accessibility Issues

When Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign announced their joint album in October 2023, it immediately raised a few eyebrows. However, following their star-studded listening parties around the world helped to build a buzz around the project. Now, it appears that all of the musicians’ promotional efforts have paid off. Today (February 18), it has been revealed that Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures 1 has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Despite accessibility issues, the outlet confirmed that the controversial body of work pulled in significant numbers. According to Billboard, the metrics for Vultures 1 are 148,000 total units for the week ending on February 15. This number comprises 129,000 streaming-equivalent album units (equaling 167.78 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs), 18,000 album sales, and 1,000 track-equivalent album units (album or song downloads).

Vultures 1 was initially released on February 9 after multiple delays. After its release, fans quickly took to social media to report having difficulties playing the 16-track project on streaming. By February 15, Vultures 1 was removed in totality from Apple Music. That wasn’t the only problem surrounding the project. Ozzy Osbourne slammed West’s sample usage of his song “War Pigs.” Donna Summer’s estate accused West of copyright infringement for including elements similar to the late singer’s record. Even, Nicki Minaj refused to clear a verse for the album.

None of this seems to have derailed Kanye West’s vision as he announced plans to release two more editions of the album.

Kanye West Announces “Vultures” Listening Party In Paris

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign will be repping their new collab album Vultures for the rest of the year, it seems. Moreover, the former just announced another listening party -– sorry, “listening experience” -– for the project or its supposed sequels, this time in Paris’ Accor Arena next Sunday (February 25). Earlier this week, the duo announced two other listening events in Italy for Vultures, scheduled for February 22 in Milan and February 24 in Bologna. As such, it looks like they really want to ramp things up ahead of Vultures 2. Whether that even ends up dropping is anyone’s guess, but fans are holding onto hope.

Furthermore, European fans may want to hop onto these parties if they’re big Ye and Ty fans, because they don’t know for sure when they’ll get to listen to Vultures in its intended form. Of course, the release of this album came marred with sample clearance issues, distribution disputes, disappearances from streaming services, and a whole lot of drama. As is typical for a Kanye West rollout, it was the hottest topic for a moment, and then everything just kind of fell back into place. Unfortunately, we can’t really pinpoint what there is to learn from all this.

Kanye West Announces Paris Listening Party

For folks on the other side of the Atlantic, though, they might have another chance to see Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign perform. Rolling Loud California announced that they will perform at the festival on March 14, which is days after Vultures 2 is supposed to come out. Will this sequel project actually come out, and will the duo actually show up to perform at this rap festival? Again, it’s a tough call to make, and betting on the Chicago artist’s word is mostly a fool’s errand.

Meanwhile, the first installment’s commercial performance has been unsurprisingly impressive, although Billboard doesn’t seem to count it for its charts. Maybe they don’t want to give Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign any more press for the antisemitic bigotry associated with the rollout. Or, some fans think, their distribution model could’ve played a part, but either way, fans are still bumping it. We’ll see how these listening events keep the story going. “Vultures” First Week Sales Projections Increase Amid Distribution Drama

Say what you will about Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s new collaborative album Vultures, but it’s been the talk of the town all week. Moreover, whether folks are discussing some of their favorite moments or unpacking the controversies behind the release, everyone has something to say about the LP. If you remember last time we got projections for its first-week sales, this first installment in an allegedly longer series was expected to sell around 140K units. However, a new report from HITSDailyDouble on Friday (February 16) indicates that it’s now expected to sell over 150K units and debut at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with less than a full week of availability.

Furthermore, this last point will be quite an interesting one for Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign because of how difficult it’s been to put Vultures out. The album already disappeared several times from Apple Music after failing to appear on Spotify in the first place. This was due to various distribution issues, which since resolved themselves temporarily with a simple change letting the album back on the streaming platform. As such, many folks wonder what difference these removals and issues caused when it comes to the project’s bottom-line sales, streams, and marketing.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures Gets First-Week Sales Projections Update

Not only that, but Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign faced a whole slew of other technical problems with Vultures. Sample clearance issues, delayed live events, clearing verses… the list goes on. Still, it seems like the duo hasn’t given up yet and doesn’t mind continuing to deal with these headaches. They are apparently holding more listening parties for the collab album and for its supposed sequels, but this time, in Italy.

Meanwhile, with more live performances scheduled (such as for Rolling Loud California), we’ll see how much longer the Vultures train stays on track. Well, not having a clear track seems to be the point, so we’ll see how much longer they can keep this all up. If previous Ye rollouts are anything to go by, then this is just the beginning. On that note, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kanye West, Ty Dolla Sign, and Vultures.

Kanye West And Ty Dolla $ign To Host Two More Listening Parties In Italy

Last week, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign finally dropped their new album VULTURES 1. The project was teased for months as one release date after another passed. Eventually it was announced that the project would be split into three volumes. The first chance fans had to hear the final project came during a listening party the duo threw in Chicago that fans online could also pay to tune into.

Despite the album now having already been released, they just announced some new listening parties to play it for fans in person. The two shows will bring VULTURES to Italy later this month. The first event will take place in Milan on February 22. The second will take place in Bologna a few days later on February 24. Some fans may want to attend a listening party with the future of the album’s availability on streaming services in question. The album was absent from Apple Music for multiple hours earlier this week following a dispute with the distributor for the project.

Kanye West Taking “VULTURES” To Italy

For fans who want to hear the duo perform the songs from VULTURES 1 rather than just listening to the album, they just made a big announcement. The pair will be headlining Rolling Loud California later this year. While there, the pair are likely to make the live debuts of many of the songs from the album. One of the songs on the album is currently unavailable on streaming. “GOOD (DON’T DIE)” was subject to a copyright claim made by the estate of Donna Summer.

It wasn’t the only issue taken with the album’s sampling. Ozzy Osbourne personally tweeted at West for using an uncleared sample during one of the listening parties. The sample in question was eventually replaced on the album itself. What do you think of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign hosting more listening parties for VULTURES 1 even though it’s already be released? Do you think the album will be able to stay on streaming services permanently? Let us know in the comment section below.

Why Was Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures 1’ Removed From Apple Music?

No Kanye West project ever comes without controversy. His Ty Dolla Sign joint album Vultures 1 is no different. Today (February 15), Vultures 1 was removed from Apple Music.

The album arrived last Friday (February 9) following numerous delays. However, according to a spokesperson from music distributing company FUGA, the company was never supposed to drop the album.

Why was Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures 1 Removed From Apple Music?

In a statement to Billboard, a spokesperson for FUGA said the company never officially agreed to distribute the album.

“Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1. Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so. On Friday, February 9, 2024, a long-standing FUGA client delivered the album Vultures 1 through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with its DSP partners and the client to remove Vultures 1 from our systems.”

This isn’t the only controversy the album has faced in the days since its release. Both Ozzy Osbourne and the estate of Donna Summer have said that West had previously asked to sample or interpolate works of theirs, however, they both denied. West used the samples anyway.

Since the album’s initial removal, Billboard has reported that the album is now back on Apple Music, now distributed through Label Engine.

Representatives for Label Engine, Apple Music, and Ty Dolla Sign did not immediately return our request for comment.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign’s “VULTURES 1” Removed From Apple Music Amid Distribution Issues

Hours ago, there was a real possibility that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s joint effort VULTURES 1 could be taken down from streaming services again. When the album initially came out, it made onto every DSP except Spotify. Shortly after fans got a chance to hear the record, it was suddenly off Apple Music without any explanation. Now, those suspicions were proven to be correct. If you head over to Apple Music right now, VULTURES 1 will have all of its songs removed.

The reason why numerous sources were predicting this was because the distributor of the record, FUGA, wanted it to be taken down. A client of theirs went above their word and helped release the record. According to Billboard, they received a direct message from a FUGA spokesperson. “A long-standing FUGA client delivered the album VULTURES 1 through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with its DSP partners and the client to remove VULTURES 1 from our systems.”

Well, their goal was achieved as Apple Music is without the record. However, at the time of writing, the record is still on Spotify and Amazon Music. The outlook for Ye and Ty’s album was already gloomy, especially with all of the copyright issues with sample clearances. That is especially true of the feuds with Ozzy Osbourne and Donna Summer. There is no telling what will happen to the rest of the DSPs, so enjoy it while you can.

What are your thoughts on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s album, VULTURES 1, being taken down from Apple Music exclusively? Do you think it will be back on the platform soon or at all? Will this affect the next two installments, why or why not? What are your opinions on VULTURES 1 and why? Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures 1’ Is No Longer Streaming On Apple Music After A Distributor Controversy

It has been a rough go for the release of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s album Vultures. First, it was delayed many times, for months, before it was finally released on February 10. Now, it looks like the album is getting… un-released: As of this afternoon (February 15), Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s album Vultures 1 is no longer available to stream on Apple Music.

This follows a statement from FUGA, the album’s distributor, shared with Billboard. A spokesperson said:

“Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1. Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so. On Friday, February 9, 2024, a long-standing FUGA client delivered the album Vultures 1 through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with its DSP partners and the client to remove Vultures 1 from our systems.”

The album is currently still available on Spotify… but not all of it: The song “Good (Don’t Die)” cannot currently be played on the platform. This comes after Donna Summer’s estate accused West of copyright infringement, explaining, “Kanye West…asked permission to use Donna Summer’s song I Feel Love, he was denied… he changed the words, had someone re sing it or used AI but it’s I Feel Love… copyright infringement!!!”

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Will Bring “Vultures” To Rolling Loud California

Following the release of his eagerly-anticipated project with Ty Dolla Sign, Vultures 1, Kanye West has taken to Instagram to share some exciting news. According to the Yeezy founder, the duo will take the stage at Rolling Loud California on March 14, only days after the second installment of Vultures is scheduled to arrive. The festival’s official Twitter account confirmed the news shortly after Ye’s announcement.

Aside from Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign, attendees will also have the opportunity to catch sets from Nicki Minaj, Sexyy Red, YG & Tyga, and more. It goes without saying that they’re looking forward to the performance, however, some have doubts that it’ll actually happen. Famously, Ye canceled his headlining set at the festival back in 2022 only days before it was scheduled to take place.

Kanye West Shares Exciting News On IG

“Rolling loud? More like rolling the dice to see if you show up,” one Instagram user writes under Ye’s announcement. Another says, “Bro’s gonna cancel his set the day before.” Either way, supporters are hopeful that this time around, the performance will go off without a hitch. After all, opportunities to see Ye perform Vultures material have been scarce, and mostly limited to lucky fans able to score pricey tickets to his last-minute listening parties.

Rolling Loud California may not be the only exciting show Ye has lined up, however. Earlier this month, he took to social media to reveal that he was having trouble getting venues to book him, largely due to his antisemitic and otherwise unsavory comments. Luckily, some of his well-connected friends were able to come through for him, and talk of a potential world tour has already begun. What do you think of Kanye West announcing that he and Ty Dolla Sign will be performing Vultures at Rolling Loud California? Are you looking forward to it? Kanye West’s Album ‘Vultures 1’ May Get Pulled From DSPs By Its Distributor

Bad news is on the way for fans of Kanye West’s new album Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla Sign. FUGA, the album’s distributor, says the album was delivered to DSPs without authorization and it’s now working to have the project removed. As a FUGA spokesperson told Billboard, “On Friday, February 9, 2024, a long-standing FUGA client delivered the album Vultures 1 through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with its DSP partners and the client to remove Vultures 1 from our systems.”

That Kanye. Always trying to wiggle his way around regulations.

The news is jut the latest rut in an increasingly bumpy road for the long-awaited album. Last year, it was reported that Kanye and Ty were looking for distributors for the project, but finding it somewhat difficult to do so. FUGA’s statement sheds some light on the reason: “Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1,” it read. “Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so.” Presumably, so did a lot of other companies in the wake of Kanye’s disturbing antisemitic comments, which also cost him lucrative deals with the likes of Adidas, Gap, and more.

The album has had several different release dates, and has been pushed back each time without prior notice — something for which Kanye had previously developed a reputation for doing, which seems another likely factor in distributors’ hesitation to work with him again. He’s also had trouble booking venues for a proposed tour, and had multiple stars, from Backstreet Boys to Ozzy Osbourne, protest his use of unauthorized samples of their work. The latest artist to object to his liberal sampling practices is disco star Donna Summer, who had the track “Good (Don’t Die)” removed from Spotify.

On Instagram this past Saturday, Summer’s estate wrote: “Kanye West… asked permission to use Donna Summer’s song I Feel Love, he was denied… he changed the words, had someone re sing it or used AI but it’s I Feel Love… copyright infringement!!!”

It certainly sounds like Kanye will try to get his way by hook or crook, and somehow, I don’t think he’ll learn anything from the recent spate of setbacks. Instead, he’ll only use them to justify his view he’s being persecuted unfairly, because the only thing it seems he won’t take is accountability.
