G-Eazy Sounds As Focused As Ever On “Tulips & Roses”

G-Eazy is an artist who is always trying to evolve. Overall, he has given us various different sounds over the years. A couple of years ago, he even tried his hand at the rock scene. However, it seems like now he is more focused on going back to the hip-hop side of things. This is obviously good news for all of his day-one fans who know him for his rapping ability. He has had quite a bit of success within the genre, so it would make sense for him to go back into that space.

The summer is almost here, which means a plethora of artists are readying their fans for some potential releases. Although G-Eazy has yet to announce a new album, he is coming through with a single for these upcoming sunny days. The track in question is called “Tulips & Roses” and it came complete with a music video. This release was certainly a welcomed surprise for his fans, who woke up to a fantastic new effort.

G-Eazy Impresses On “Tulips & Roses”

In regard to the song itself, G-Eazy can be heard rapping over some nice piano keys and layered vocal samples. Overall, these vocal samples are done extremely tastefully. Moreover, the string synths hanging in the back make the song sound like something that could have been released in the 1920s. Of course, G-Eazy makes sure to mention the likes of The Great Gatsby which adds to the whole 20s aesthetic. Lyrically, G-Eazy delivers something braggadocios, which is exactly what fans should come to expect at this point. From there, the song finishes up with a nice guitar solo that will be appreciated by the musicians out there.

All-in-all, this is a very solid effort from the artist. Whether or not he has plans for an album, remains to be seen. However, it would seem as though that is the case. Quotable Lyrics:

Get triggered when I see a camera open, it scares us
Posted on her Close Friends to show off she’s near us
Actin’ off of impulse, she’s tipsy and careless
I swear there’s a scarcity of self awareness
