Several iconic artists have been paying tribute to the legendary producer, Quincy Jones, on social media throughout Monday morning in the wake of his passing. Jones died at his home in Bel Air, California on Sunday at the age of 91. His rep., Arnold Robinson, confirmed the news, according to Variety.

Taking to Instagram, LL Cool J wrote of the musician: “You were a father and example at a time when I truly needed a father and example. Mentor. Role model. King. You gave me opportunities and shared wisdom. Music would not be music without you. My condolences to the entire family. I love you. Rest in the sweetest music eternally. #ripquincyjones one of one.”

Snoop Dogg, Questlove, Martin Lawrence, and many other celebrities have shared tributes to the late John Amos on social media in the wake of his passing. While Amos died of natural causes back on August 21, his family only confirmed the news on Tuesday. He was 84 years old at the time of his passing.

Several of the voices to speak out have been those in hip-hop. “This man raised us God forever bless John Amos RIP,” Fat Joe wrote in a post on Instagram. On the same platform, Questlove shared a clip from Let’s Do It Again and wrote: “My fav foot chase scene of all time: Let’s Do It Again. How John Amos took went Usain In The Brain Bolt levels in church shoes I’ll never know.” As for Snoop Dogg, he posted a clip from Coming to America, which also features the late James Earl Jones. He wrote: “We lost two titans in less than a month’s time. Thank you for your contributions to the culture.”

Frankie Beverly, the legendary soul and funk singer known for leading the band, Maze, has died at the age of 77. His death comes after embarking on a farewell tour, earlier this year. The Beverly family confirmed the news in a statement on Instagram on Wednesday morning.

“Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deeply personal and emotional experience. During this time, as we are navigating feelings of sorrow, reflection, and remembrance we kindly ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve in our own way,” the Beverly family said. “This period for is one of healing, and your respect for our need for solitude is appreciated as we honor the memory of our beloved Howard Stanley Beverly known to the world as Frankie Beverly. BeatKing’s Tragic Death Leaves Social Media Users Devastated 

Recently, beloved Houston rapper and producer BeatKing passed away at the age of 39. His manager Tasha Felder confirmed the tragic news in an Instagram post yesterday, penning a heartfelt message about the devastating loss. “Today, August 15, 2024 we have lost @clubgodzilla,” she began. “Beatking has been the best part of the club for over a decade. He has produced and worked with so many artists that his sound will forever live. He loved his daughters @clubgodparenting, his music and his fans. We will love him forever.”

Early on, BeatKing’s cause of death was unknown, but a rep told TMZ today that he passed away after suffering a pulmonary embolism. Reportedly, he had been hosting a takeover on Urban One/Radio One when he fainted. The artist was promptly rushed to the hospital but later died with his two daughters by his side.

DJ Polo’s family has confirmed that the iconic hip-hop producer has passed away. In a statement on Instagram, his son announced that his loved ones are currently in mourning. Polo was best known for his work with Kool G Rap, having released three albums together as a duo in the late 80s and early 90s. The two were also members of Juice Crew.

“It is with a heavy heart we mourn the loss of my father, the incredible DJ Polo,” the statement begins. “He was not only a legend to the hip hop community but also to his family and we celebrate his life and legacy now and forever. Several more artists have paid tribute to Chris King in the days since his death over the weekend. Justin Bieber, Machine Gun Kelly, and more have now posted on social media about the late rapper. He was gunned down in an apparent robbery attempt outside of a music studio in Nashville on Saturday.

“Love you bro. This one hurts,” Bieber wrote on his Instagram Story. “Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother.” Just last December, King revealed in an Instagram post that he and the singer for roommates for a period of time.
