ASAP Rocky Apparently Agrees That Travis Scott ‘Stole His Whole Style’

Despite their superficial physical resemblance, ASAP Rocky and Travis Scott haven’t had the warmest relationship. In fact, you almost never see the two of them together (kinda like Clark Kent and Superman) — which, come to think of it, probably contributed to them being mistaken for each other all those times. However, despite some rumors and speculation, Rocky has insisted that there’s no beef between the two men. However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t agree with certain comparisons between them — namely, the one that Travis jacked ASAP Rocky’s style.

That question came up again in a teaser for an upcoming episode of rap’s in-house mess factory, Drink Champs with NORE. In the teaser, NORE suggests, once again, that Travis Scott stole Rocky’s “whole style.” Although the clip is edited to exclude any elaboration from Rocky, he does appear to agree with this assessment before the teaser moves on to other topics. This may mark the first time Rocky openly copped to the belief that Travis bit his look; meanwhile, another portion of the teaser may provide some insight into why it’s such a big deal for him in the first place.

“Kanye West came out on this same show and said, ‘ASAP Rocky dresses better than me,’” NORE recalls excitedly. “I never thought I would hear that in my whole life.” Considering Kanye’s reputation as hip-hop’s premier fashionista, this constitutes high praise for the “Fashion Killa,” who appears to be promoting his own comeback project with singles like “DMB.” He’s also been preparing for the birth of his baby with his “Fashion Killa” co-star Rihanna, so he’s still probably too busy for beef. But it is interesting that he’s finally given a straight answer to this question after dodging it since 2016.

Travis Scott Will Continue His Comeback With A Performance At The Billboard Music Awards

Travis Scott’s comeback continues. The Houston rapper recently performed his first public show at a club in Miami after soft-launching his return at both a pre-Oscars party and a Coachella afterparty earlier this year. Then, last month, he announced his impending return to the festival scene at Primavera Sound in Brazil this autumn. And now we know when he’ll show up on the awards show circuit again. The Billboard Music Awards have announced the upcoming 2022 show’s slate of performers, which includes Becky G, Burna Boy, Florence + The Machine, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Silk Sonic, and yes, Travis Scott.

Travis is also nominated for one award: Spanish producer HVME’s “Goosebumps” remix is up for Top Dance/Electronic Song.

Scott has been out of the spotlight since last November when the second day of his Astroworld Festival was canceled in the wake of a disastrous first night that left 10 dead and hundreds injured by a crowd crush during Travis’ headlining set. Travis later said that he had no idea that anything was wrong after reportedly performing for nearly 40 minutes after a mass casualty event was declared by authorities. He has laid low in the intervening months only re-emerging recently after announcing his Project HEAL initiative with the release of the Future-featuring “Hold That Heat” and promoting his upcoming album, Utopia, via billboards on the freeway to Coachella.

The BBMAs are this Sunday, May 15 at 8 pm ET.

Travis Scott to Perform at Billboard Music Awards

It’s about to be lit.

Travis Scott will make his return to the stage at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, it was announced today. The Houston rapper will perform live during Sunday’s show in Las Vegas, marking his first awards show performance since the Astroworld Festival in November, which resulted in 10 deaths.

Travis and HVME’s remix of “Goosebumps” is nominated for Top Dance/Electronic Song at this year’s show. In 2019-2020, he became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have three songs debut at No. 1 in less than a year–“Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts” (with Kid Cudi), and “Franchise.”

It’s unclear what Travis will perform or whether he will debut new music from his long-awaited album Utopia. He recently teamed up with Future on Southside’s single “Hold That Heat,” but he hasn’t released any solo music since “Mafia” and “Escape Plan” in November.

Over the weekend, he performed his first paid gig since Astroworld at Miami nightclub E11EVEN during Race Week. He is also slated to perform at the Primavera Sound festivals in South America this November.

Hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 2022 Billboard Music Awards will air live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 15, at 8 p.m. ET. Other performers include Silk Sonic, Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy, Latto, Maxwell, Megan Thee Stallion, and Mary J. Blige, who will receive the Billboard Icon Award.

Here’s Why Travis Scott’s First Public Concert Since Astroworld Charged $50,000

Travis Scott has slowly been returning to performing after the Astroworld tragedy in November that left ten dead. In March, he took the stage at a pre-Oscars party, and then at a Coachella afterparty a month later. He also announced his headlining festival return, with a spot on the roster for the Brazilian festival Primavera Sound in November.

According to Rolling Stone, the “Sicko Mode” rapper made a comeback over the weekend with his first public performance since the tragedy. It was in a Miami club; online pre-sale tickets were $50, while tickets at the doors were $300 for men and $200 for women, as per the doorman.“Travis Scott usually costs half a million dollars to perform at your venue,” the doorman told the magazine. “And he hasn’t performed in seven months, so this one is highly anticipated. We pre-sold all our tables. Reservations were averaging $50,000 tonight.” To skip the line was an extra $200. The writer noted that despite the venue being at full capacity, no one was moshing.

Filmmaker Charlie Minn recently released Concert Crush: The Travis Scott Festival Tragedy, a documentary about the Astroworld tragedy. In an interview, Minn said: “Travis Scott to me is a punk. In my opinion, he is a criminal. Ten people died. How do we get around that?”

Travis Scott is back on stage. Appearing at the Miami Grand Prix party at E11even Miami, Scott tossed money in the crowd and performed with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 in hand. The performance was Scott’s first public show since the Astroworld tragedy.

“Everybody owes me a shot,” Scott said according to Page Six. “We need every stripper to report to the f–king stage right now. We need every bottle reported to this motherfuckin floor.”

During his time on stage, Scott performed “Antidote,” “Pick Up The Phone,” “Goosebumps,” “Highest in the Room” and “SICKO MODE.” The crowd was stated to have sang along with each song.

Scott hit the stage late into the night, around 2:30 a.m. EST, and departed at 4:15 a.m. EST. Tables at the event began at $5,000 to $100,000.
