50 Cent Recalls JAY-Z & Roc Nation Trying To Keep Him From Performing At The Super Bowl

50 Cent says JAY-Z’s company, Roc Nation, attempted to keep him from performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2022. He reflected on the historic performance and how it nearly never happened without the help of Eminem during a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“They wanted to leave me out of it. They didn’t want me there,” he remarked, which prompted a request for an explaination. He continued: “Roc Nation. Yeah, they didn’t want me there. Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it. When that happens, you go, ‘Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.’ But if it was up to them, they would not have me there. I’m the surprise. I’m not on the bill at all. But they couldn’t get Em to do it without me.”

It’s not the first time 50’s brought up the story. On several occasions over the two years since, he’s thanked Eminem for sticking up for him. “50 is like a brother to me,” Eminem told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about their relationship. “50 has proven again and again that there’s really nothing he can’t do, and nobody gets in the way of him getting it done.” Outside of music, 50’s working with Eminem through his G-Unit Film and Television company to produce a series based on the Detroit rapper’s 2002 film, 8 Mile. 50 Cent Shares Interesting Perspective On Drake & Kendrick Lamar’s Feud

50 Cent has weighed in on the viral feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t view the situation as a loss for the Toronto rapper. Instead, he discussed how it shows the level of success Drake has reached over the years.

“This is hip-hop. I think it’s competitive to a degree, obviously,” he began. “Even Drake, his position and the attitude and his choices, those are 50 Cent choices. ‘F–k it, everybody got to get it then.’ When it becomes Drake versus Kendrick, it’s because it’s the only thing you can put up against Drake’s success.”

From there, he elaborated that the entire situation reveals a broader perspective on the culture. “Look, our culture loves to see you go up because it’s confirmation that they can go up,” he added. “But when you stay up — ‘I want this s–t forever, man’ — they go, ‘Well, goddamn. When you going to come down? If you don’t come down, I ain’t going to have my chance to go up.’ And then it’s these clouds that come over you, and that cloud is doubt, a shadow of doubt that doesn’t come from material or your work ethic.”

He continued: “It’s doubt from the artist community, where they say, ‘I don’t know, his new s–t is cool, but it’s not his first s–t.’ They do that to you and Drake’s just experiencing what you experience as a backlash from success, from the consistency he’s delivered over and over. I don’t see a loss for Drake. The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.” While 50 is still confident in Drake, fans mostly agreed that Lamar won the battle after dropping his hit record,  “Not Like Us,” back in May. In the time since, he’s released a music video for the song and hosted The Pop Out – Ken & Friends in Los Angeles. Elsewhere in 50’s interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he discussed his relationship with Diddy, performing at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, and more. 50 Cent Details Diddy’s “Weird Energy” That Began His Issues With The Industry Mogul

50 Cent recently discussed his long-standing issues with Diddy for a new cover story with The Hollywood Reporter. In doing so, he revealed the moment he was no longer comfortable being around him. When the outlet asked about the intense trolling of the Bad Boy mogul he’s been doing as well as why he avoids so-called Diddy parties, 50 recalled one strange encounter between the two.

“He asked to take me shopping,” 50 remarked. “I thought that was the weirdest sh*t in the world because that might be something that a man says to a woman. And I’m just like, ‘Naw, I’m not f*cking with this weird energy or weird sh*t,’ coming off the way he was just moving. From that, I wasn’t comfortable around him.”

From there, 50 discussed his past relationship with Diddy and clarified that it was more of a work dynamic than a friendship. “It was mostly work. I wouldn’t call it a friendship because there wouldn’t be disappointment between us if we didn’t speak to each other,” he said. “[Diddy’s ex] Jennifer Lopez actually told him he should work with me as songwriter in the beginning. [H]e’d call me to write. I remember Diddy would call, and my son’s mom would answer, and I didn’t want to get on the phone like, ‘No, no, no.’ And she was like, ‘What the f*ck? We need money.’ She’s looking at me, like, ‘What? Why don’t you want to talk to him?’”

He continued: “I didn’t ever party or hang out with him. Puff is a businessperson; when [people call him] a producer, I see people that were taken advantage of, who produced things that he took from them. He got the credit. He’s not a producer. He’s been able to take advantage of the business and the creatives in it. I don’t have any interest in doing that. I actually fall under the creative. So I just didn’t take to hanging out with that.” Be on the lookout for further updates on 50 Cent as well as Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Lil Dicky Says “All-Time Great” Artists Have Called Him A “Rapper’s Rapper”

Lil Dicky says that several “all-time great rappers” have told him he’s “a rapper’s rapper.” Dicky addressed the criticism he’s received from “elitist” journalists throughout his career during a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Dicky explained that most of the criticism he’s faced has come from “elitist, hipster journalists who thought that it was their place to speak on behalf of hip-hop.” Further, he argued that he’s been “meeting the all-time great rappers and they’re telling me, like, man, I’m a rapper’s rapper.” The Hollywood Reporter noted that both Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent have publically praised Dicky, while he collaborated with Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, and Rich Homie Quan on his debut studio album, Professional Rapper.

Outside of music, Dicky also created and stars in the FX series, Dave. While popular and critically acclaimed, the series has also faced backlash for being similar to Donald Glover’s show, Atlanta. Glover, however, has said that he likes the show.

Elsewhere in the interview, Dicky reflected on working with Chris Brown on their 2018 collaboration, “Freaky Friday.” He explained that he has no regrets regarding working with the controversial artist, despite Brown facing many allegations of misconduct. Dicky explained that he knew he needed a high-profile celebrity for the music video, but didn’t have “infinite relationships back then.”

“[Chris Brown] walks right up to me, and he says, ‘Hey man, I just want you to know, you’re an incredible rapper,’” Dicky said about meeting Brown. “And Chris Brown was my ringtone in the ninth grade, and it was just a very meaningful thing for someone to say to me at that time, and we kept in touch, and then we made that song, and I love that song. I still love that song. It went to No. 1 in multiple nations, and without that song, I don’t know that I could have made [a charity single] like ‘Earth,’ where I raised, like, $3 million [to fight against climate change].”

Bella Thorne Fan Begs Her To Sign Underage Underwear Photo, She Tells Him Off

Like most former Disney Channel stars, Bella Thorne’s career has had its share of ups and downs. As of late, the Shake It Up alum appears to be happier and healthier than ever. Still, that doesn’t mean she isn’t sometimes faced with unfortunate blasts from the past. In fact, many of them force her to recall her past mistakes. During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she candidly spoke about how she addresses these situations, and the feelings she’s left with as a result.

Throughout their chat, the famous redhead spoke about everything from attending the Roberto Cavalli runway to her most recent film projects. What really caught readers’ attention, though, was when Thorne discussed her decision to refuse to sign provocative photos previously taken of her when she was underage. Specifically, the GQ shoot she did as a teenager has recently been causing her some problems.

Bella Sets Her Boundaries

Before she launched into the story, THR‘s journalist asked the 25-year-old if she’s often bothered by fans hounding her for autographs. “I don’t really care but I did tell someone off yesterday,” she confessed. “I normally don’t tell them off but they offended me. It was this guy and he was shoving photos in front of me,” the actress shared, noting that she looked away for one second and when her eyes returned, she saw the controversial cover.

“It’s super sexy and my butt is out and I’m wearing lingerie and I’m topless. I said I wouldn’t sign that. He took it away and then put it back in front of me again,” Thorne explained. Afterward, the man apparently pulled out yet another provocative image of her, begging for a signature. “I didn’t like it. It was inappropriate. There was some stuff there from a Candies campaign that I did when I was 16. It was clear that he wanted me to sign things that were viewed as sexy and even underage,” she vented.

Bella’s Industry Battles

As someone who spent most of her life in the industry, Thorne says she understands the business, but still doesn’t feel great about her role in it. “Enough is enough. But I get it, they have to make money and everyone has a job so I get that. It was just that I was under 18 and it’s inappropriate,” she told THR earlier this month.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Florida native admitted that, in hindsight, she wouldn’t make the same choices she did earlier in her career. Still, she doesn’t want to spend too much of her time reflecting on the past. “You also can’t spend your time trying to take back these moments or moments that you were too sexy or think that being a woman is only this or that,” she advised readers. Seth Rogen Trolls Kim Kardashian At “Women In Entertainment Breakfast”

Seth Rogen teased Kim Kardashian during The Hollywood Reporter’s “Women in Entertainment Breakfast” on Wednesday. Confused by Kardashian’s absence, Rogen joked about her having nothing better to do.

“Are we going to talk about how Kim Kardashian didn’t show up?” Rogen asked the crowd. “I have seen every episode of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ I know she doesn’t have anything more important to do than this.”

Rogen then back down remarking that she probably had good reason to miss out.

“She’s honestly… she’s probably dealing with a lot right now,” he added.

As for why Kardashian skipped out on the event, her team explained the decision in a statement provided to TMZ.

“The wrong event date was given to Kim’s team several weeks ago,” they said. “The error was realized only on Monday and unfortunately, her schedule could not be moved around at the last minute due to a prior work commitment. She was incredibly disappointed to not be able to attend since she never cancels.”

Season 2 of The Kardashians finished airing on Hulu, last month. Rogen, on the other hand, recently starred in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans.

Rogen wasn’t the only one to make fun of Kim Kardashian at the event. Chelsea Handler also poked fun during her time on stage, joking about security at the event not being enough for Kim.

While she wasn’t in attendance at the breakfast event, Kardashian did post new pictures on Instagram.

Check out Seth Rogen’s comments at the Women in Entertainment Breakfast below. Hollywood Reporter held the event in honor of its 2022 Women in Entertainment Power 100 list.
