Diddy’s Diageo Lawsuit Called Into Question by Charlamagne Tha God

Earlier this week, massive spirits company Diageo publicly ended its affiliation with rapper and mogul Diddy. That came after Diddy filed a lawsuit against the company alleging the company of racist dealings with its various partners. It claims that the company poured all its resources into Clooney’s Casamigos brand after acquiring it in 2017. It also claims that the company marketed Diddy’s own DeLeon tequila as “urban” and “black.” Diageo responded by calling the lawsuit a “sham” and dropping Diddy from their brand.

Now many are reacting to the legal proceedings, including Charlamagne Tha God. According to HipHopDx, During a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, he asked for some clarification on the lawsuit. “Diddy worked for this company for 15 years, right? Made a billion dollars, literally, but then turns around and sues the company for racism. There had to be a better basis to the lawsuit than just racism right?” the host said. He continued with even stronger objections. “I just wonder, ’cause you have so much success with that company with Ciroc for 15 years and it doesn’t seem like you’ve been able to duplicate that success with DeLeón thus far, but is that a reason to burn a bridge with a company that has helped you make a billion dollars?” While he insists that he’s only asking questions his skepticism is clear.

Charlamagne Tha God Isn’t Sure About Diddy’s Suit

The news surrounding Diddy hasn’t been all bad recently. Earlier this month Diddy received an Icon Award from the Apollo Theater. He also posted an emotional and touching Father’s Day message for his late father.

Earlier this year, Diddy teamed up with Fabolous and City Girls on a new single called “Act Bad.” The song imagines itself as not just a track but an anthem similar to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer.” In the wake of the song many fans on Twitter posted ways that Diddy had “acted bad” in the past which caused him to trend for all the wrong reasons. What do you think of Charlamagne’s comments about Diddy’s lawsuit? Let us know in the comment section below.

Charlamagne Tha God Says He’s Not Sure Jim Jones’ Response To Pusha T Was Enough

Charlamagne says that he’s not confident Jim Jones’ recent response to Pusha T will be enough. The Dipset rapper released a track dissing Pusha on Saturday night. In the lyrics, he targets Pusha’s fashion sense, his relevancy in hip-hop, and his Clipse partner, No Malice. Charlamagne spoke about the effort on The Breakfast Club, Monday morning.

“I don’t think that’s enough,” he said. “I think if you shoot at Pusha, you just gotta go ahead and drop the nuke. You can’t just shoot. You just gotta go ahead and drop the nuke now. That’s what Pusha’s gonna do, if Pusha replies. If we’re looking at the way Pusha has replied before, Pusha gonna drop a nuke off top.”

Charlamagne continued: “So, I like what Jim did. I just don’t know if that’s enough. If you’re gonna engage, you gotta go-go. You can’t fire any warning shots. And I like what Jim did, but you gotta go for the head. I don’t know if he went for the head.”

When Envy began to suggest that Jones could have more in the tank, Charlamagne interject: “When you say ‘not yet’ with Pusha– you can’t say ‘not yet’ with Pusha. You either aim for the head or you do nothing.”

The feud between Jim Jones and Pusha T began back in April when Jones remarked that Pusha isn’t one of the 50 best rappers in hip-hop. The comment clearly stuck with Pusha, who responded by dissing Jones in a new Clipse track debuted at Pharrell’s first Louis Vuitton show, last week. Be on the lookout for a further response from Pusha in the coming days.

Blueface’s Mom Blasts Jess Hilarious For Messaging Lil Meech & Dissing Her

Blueface’s mom just found herself in the middle (or rather, both giving and receiving end) of an unexpected online beef. Moreover, it all stems from comments she recently made about celebrities she turned down. “Whew, y’all already know I wasn’t nothing to deal with 20 years ago,” Karlissa Saffold said in the clip. “S**t 25, put a week on it. Wasn’t nothing to play with, okay? Ask somebody. Who I turned down? 50, Shaq, Cube… Who else? Usher… It was a no! So momma didn’t play. Better ask somebody, I wasn’t nothing to deal with. It was a no.”

Furthermore, Jess Hilarious spoke on this on The Breakfast Club, and had some choice words. “Blueface’s mom shares the roster of celebs she turned down. She was feeling herself, and this is what she was saying [plays clip]. You turned all of them down and ended up with Blueface’s dad [laughs]. And made him. It look like you shouldn’t have been turning them down, baby.” Of course, the remarks made DJ Envy laugh at “Jess With The Mess” for her fired shots.

Jess Hilarious Mocks Karlissa Saffold

Now, it seems like Blueface’s mother is taking advantage of another news story making the rounds today to clap back at Jess Hilarious. For those unaware, the podcaster recently called Lil Meech “smelly” when discussing his cheating allegations on Summer Walker. That upper hand didn’t last long, as Meech exposed allegedly “thirsty” DMs from Hilarious when responding to her. After Saffold heard the news, she was quick to jump on her and bring up her criticism of her claims. “I ain’t never been turned down @jesshilarious_official,” she wrote on her Instagram Story with coverage of the alleged DMs.

Blueface’s Mom Claps Back

In addition, Walker didn’t hold back either when responding to Jess. “Jess [you’re] a really weird a** b***h,” she posted on her IG Story. “What Black woman hopes another Black woman keeps getting cheated on? That’s dark. You JUST missed being a n***a by a chromosome lord forgive me. But damn! You’d think being so ugly you’d try to be sweeter.” For more news and the latest updates on Jess Hilarious and Blueface’s mother Karlissa Saffold, come back to HNHH.

Method Man Explains If Wu-Tang Show Is Accurate

A few weeks ago while on Kevin Hart’s podcast Gold Minds, Method Man made some attention-grabbing comments. In the episode, he said that he had never watched a single episode of Wu-Tang: An American Saga despite being an executive producer. He told Hart that he got the script ahead of time but never actually watched the show. Despite that, he made sure to give the show its flowers and merely stated that his version of events was different than what was portrayed.

Now, he’s revisiting the issue. In an appearance on The Breakfast Club Charlamagne The God asked Method Man if he still hadn’t seen an episode. While he once again made sure to give the show credit and avoid starting drama he also had a new explanation for not watching it. “I lived that already” Method Man said. He seemingly had little interest in watching the show recapping events he was there for. When asked once again if the show is accurate he said “No, none of them are.”

Method Man’s Thoughts On The Show

In the same episode, Method Man also touched on what he sees as the difference between rap now and in the 90s. “When you heard records from the West Coast, you know it was from the West Coast. When you heard UGK, we know that was down south,” he explained. He thinks that rap has lost its regional identities in pursuit of something more homogenous. “We had identities. And everybody was fightin’ for their own identity. Whereas now, it seems like everyone’s fighting for the same identity,” he concluded.

Despite some criticisms the Wu-Tang legend has for modern rap music, he also has some favorites. In a different interview this year he said that the rapper played most often in his house is GloRilla. She seemed to appreciate the love. In an Instagram story response, she showed love for Method Man’s music and appreciation for his cosign. What do you think about Method Man’s comments regarding the Wu-Tang Clan TV show? Let us know in the comments below.

Method Man Explains The Difference Between Rap Eras

Method Man identified one major difference between rap today and rap during Wu-Tang Clan’s heyday. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, the rap legend spoke on how regional identities have been lost in the decades since he first started. “When you heard records from the West Coast, you know it was from the West Coast. When you heard UGK, we know that was down south,” Method Man explained. While many rappers still flex their hometowns, he sees it as less distinct than previous eras of hip-hop.

Method Man was also quick to clarify that he isn’t criticizing all of modern rap. “I’m not taking anything away from the music nowadays, you know? Because whatever works, works. And I like some of the sh*t they be doin’ today,” he said. “But back then, we had identities. And everybody was fightin’ for their own identity. Whereas now, it seems like everyone’s fighting for the same identity.” Despite that, he still sees the future of rap looking bright. “that’s going to spark the mind that changes everything, you know?”

Method Man Gets Real On The Breakfast Club

Last month on Kevin Hart’s podcast Gold Minds podcast, Method Man mentioned that he hadn’t watched a single episode of the Wu-Tang Clan TV show. Wu-Tang: An American Saga seeks to tell the story of the influential rap group’s come-up. While he did give the show its flowers he also noted that there are some flaws in the way its stories are told.

Further evidence of Method Man’s thoughts on modern hip-hop came earlier this year when he shouted out GloRilla. He claims that the rapper’s music is being played often in his house. Even though he doesn’t love much modern music he was sure to shout out someone he does like. GloRilla seemed to appreciate the shoutout and responded with an Instagram story expressing similar feelings back to the Wu-Tang legend. What do you think of Method Man’s take on modern hip-hop and its identity crisis? Let us know in the comment section below.

Gunplay And Wife Challenge DJ Envy To Boxing Match, Legal Action

It’s safe to say that Gunplay and DJ Envy do not like each other. Their most recent bout of beef dates back to late May, when Envy made comments about Gunplay’s daughter during an episode of The Breakfast Club. Gunplay’s daughter was born with a heart defect and required open-heart surgery. Gunplay and his wife launched a GoFundMe to help cover the medical costs of the procedure.

Things escalated further when audio of a heated phone call between the two personalities was leaked. In the clip, Gunplay appears to reject Envy’s attempt at an apology. Furthermore, Gunplay then issued Envy with a cease and desist concerning “false, slanderous, and defamatory statements.” Now, it appears that Gunplay and his wife are taking things yet another step further.

A post shared by We In Miami Podcast (@weinmiamipodcast)

Appearing on the We In Miami podcast, Gunplay and his wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, outlined their next steps regarding DJ Envy. For Gunplay, he wanted to settle things in the ring. “Yo Envy, what’s up? Put on the gloves, let’s get it,” Gunplay began before confirming he was genuinely challenging Envy to a fight. “We could do it and raise some money for charity or whatever.” “You know, they could do a little [fight] and donate to the hospital our daughter had surgery at,” Taylor-Morales chimed in.

She continued. “I got a phone call from my father. My father listens to the The Breakfast Club morning show, and he was like ‘Is there a problem? Do I need to go up there by my granddaughter?’ So I’m like what’s going on? So I got on my daughter’s Instagram page and obviously, you know how trolls are. And they’re coming crazy about ‘oh, you need to sign your parent rights away to Envy,’ and I was very upset. It literally took me to a very traumatic space. No one’s expecting to give birth to a daughter with a heart defect that rare and having open heart surgery.” Taylor-Morales confirmed that she had received multiple assurances from The Breakfast Club that the material would be taken down. However, since that has not happen, she feels that she has no other choice that pursue the issue as a legal matter.

Young Nudy Explains The Difference Between 4L And 4PF

There are so many rappers with so many different affiliations that people can’t even keep up. Even people who might really want to know those things, like Charlamagne Tha God for example. In a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne confused 4L and 4PF and needed Young Nudy to clarify for him. After he notices Nudy is sporting the 4L he confuses it with Lil Baby’s 4PF. Funny enough, Charlamagne doesn’t really know the difference. Thankfully, everyone is able to laugh it off and Nudy fills him in.

After Charlamagne asks “What’s the difference?” Nudy answers simply “we the biggest. Big 4L.” The video made the rounds on various news sites and social media pages today where fans expressed their surprise that Charlamagne would make such a mistake. While neither of the two have made any comments on the interview since it was released plenty of observers have chimed in.

Young Nudy Clarifies For Charlamagne

Young Nudy dropped his new album Gumbo back in February. The album sports features from Key Glock and 21 Savage. Speaking of 21, the rapper made a guest appearance last month at one of Nudy’s shows in Atlanta. The two teamed up to perform “Peaches & Eggplants” their collaborative single from Nudy’s new album. The two Atlanta-based rappers are actually cousins and link up with each other often on record. During the raid that resulted in 21 Savage’s memorable detainment by ICE, Nudy was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault. According to reports following the raid, it was Nudy’s assault in the first place that led to the raid and 21 Savage’s ICE detainment happened afterward.

The artist has been prolifically releasing albums for years. Gumbo follows 2022’s EA Monster and 2021’s Rich Shooter. Those albums feature guest performances from artists like Future, Gucci Man, and Babydrill. His track “EA” with 21 Savage recently received a new remix from fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty. He debuted the remix back in April during a live-streamed DJ set. What do you think of Nudy’s appearance and explanation on The Breakfast Club? Let us know in the comments below.

Ja Morant’s Gun Was Allegedly Fake But Suspension Still Expected

The fate of Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant remains unknown. On May 14, Morant was suspended by the Grizzlies after a video of him flashing a gun on Instagram Live went viral. Despite Morant apologizing for the incident, Commissioner Adam Silver expressed “shock” at the video. Furthermore, Silver announced that Morant’s punishment would be withheld until after the NBA Finals.

The incident has completely altered the trajectory of Morant’s career. He has been widely condemned for the incident. Furthermore, police in Tennessee performed a wellness check at Morant’s residence after a cryptic and worrying Instagram post. Elsewhere, Kendrick Perkins suggested that Morant could be better served with a move out of Memphis. Now, Morant’s team is throwing a Hail Mary.

Morant’s Team Claims The Gun Was Fake

Sources within Ja Morant’s camp are claiming that the gun Morant was seen with is in fact fake. These allegations were first reportedly by The Breakfast Club‘s Claudia Jordan. “The relative in the car in the back seat had a toy gun, not real, and was playing around with it and passed it [to Morant] and that got caught on the Live. The NBA has the video and allegedly, the gun looks extremely fake, obviously a toy gun. But according to my source, allegedly, Adam Silver is still going to go through with the suspension, [which is] looking like it’s going to be about 30 games.” However, the news has not been met with much sympathy online. The Breakfast Club panel questioned why the fake gun narrative was only being brought up now.

As previously mentioned, Morant apologized three days after the footage went viral. However, he never previously mentioned the gun being fake or a toy. Furthermore, it’s likely that the news is being leaked in order to try and sway public opinion in favor of Morant. The thinking likely is that public outcry with this new information could say the NBA. However, as many people have noted after the news broke, it doesn’t matter if the gun is fake or not. Morant goaded the NBA with his actions, forcing the league’s hand if they wanted to retain any sort of credibility. At the end of the day, fake or not, Morant is being punished on principle, not because of his specific actions.
