Offset Earns Diamond Plaque Thanks To Tyga’s Hit, “Taste”

Offset has earned his first-ever diamond single after Tyga’s hit song, “Taste,” sold over ten million units. Reacting to the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the Migos rapper wrote: “Went diamond today God is good,” alongside a photo of himself. Tyga also celebrated the news on the platform. He wrote: “Taste just went diamond 10x platinum.. Thank you to everyone that streamed it and twerked to it.”

Tyga released “Taste” as the lead single to his 2019 album, Legendary. It peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, marking a major return for Tyga, who hadn’t appeared on the chart in the previous three years. It’s the second highest-charting single of his career behind only “Rack City.” In bolstering its success, Tyga dropped a star-studded music video for the song, featuring 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Joyner Lucas, YK Osiris, Ronny J and King Bach.

In response to Offset celebrating the news on X, fans shared plenty of uplifting messages. “So well deserved! God’s plan always comes through in the best ways. Keep shining!” one user replied. Another fan wrote: “How have you JUST NOW received your first one after ten years of stardom and it wasn’t even for Versace or Bad and Boujee that’s crazy congrats tho.” In Tyga’s post, he shared a video of himself posing with the plaque next to EMPIRE CEO Ghazi and COO Nima Etminan. Back in the early days of social media, Myspace was king, and a now-iconic part of the experience was listening to the songs users would have on their profiles. That hasn’t been a common social media feature since then, but now Instagram is bringing it back.

How To Add A Song To Your Instagram Profile

On your Instagram profile, tap the “Edit profile” button. Then, scroll down to the “Music” option, and tap where it says “Add music to your profile.” From there, you can browse the songs available to use, select one, and then choose a 30-second portion of the song to use. To change the song, just remove the song currently in use via the “Edit profile” menu and then go through the selection process again.

As The Verge notes, Instagram launched the feature today in partnership with Sabrina Carpenter, who is currently using it to preview her song “Taste,” which hasn’t yet been officially released in full as of this post.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Carpenter said of her path to stardom, “I have dreams and goals, and I will say I’m a little bit of a freak manifester sometimes, which is a blessing and a curse, depending on how you look at it. I always knew deep down that this was something I would do with my life, and I didn’t ever really doubt that, even when sh*t was hitting the ceiling fan.”

What’s funny is that this was a surprisingly common topic in recent headlines, so this is now Blueface’s narrative when it comes to media coverage. His mother Karlissa Saffold also spoke on his adult search leanings, which is even more uncomfortable to hear than it is to describe. “My son say he jack off to the people that look like his mama,” she said on IG Live this past weekend. “He say he like the ebony b***hes, I can’t make this s**t up. I don’t give a f**k how much wine she give me, I can’t make this up. I seen it girl. She got mad when he said he like ebony. B***h, your baby ebony.”

However, it’s possible that this will only further drive a rift in between the couple, who are apparently on a rocky path. Many social media users speculated that they broke up after Blueface deleted many pictures with her from his Instagram page. After all, their antics are part of why they’re so famous, and folks can’t get enough of the drama.
