Stephen Curry Tries His Hardest To Win Jump Ball Over Victor Wembanyama: Watch

Stephen Curry caught the attention of NBA fans on social media, Friday night, by seemingly trying his hardest to beat out Victor Wembanyama for a jump ball. Curry, who measures 6’ 2” didn’t come close to outreaching the 7’ 4” rookie. Wembanyama has been taking the league by storm since the San Antonio Spurs drafted him first overall in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Curry and Wembanyama faced off during the Spurs’ 122-117 win over the Golden State Warriors in their preseason matchup. In response to the jump ball, one fan tweeted: “Looks like he’s having fun with that. He seems to have a bit of a smile on his face.” Another joked: “He should have taken it with a ladder.”

Prior to the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remarked that Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was “rejuvenated” by Wembanyama. In response, Popovich jokingly took offense. “What was I being rejuvenated from?” Popovich asked. “Was I in a mental institution or was I depressed and curled up in my bedroom or something?” Pop added: “Steve’s an a**hole.”

Steph Curry Tries To Outreach Victor Wembanyama

Wembanyama recently discussed the influence Pop is having on his development with San Antonio Express-News. “This is how I also recognize how good of a person he is,” Wembanyama said. “He just learns, he just learned to know me, quicker than almost anyone I’ve met in my life before.” He added: “I don’t want to limit myself to what’s already been done. I don’t want to limit myself to what’s conventional.” Be on the lookout for more updates on the Spurs rookie as the regular season begins later this month.

Michael Jordan Sends Morning Text to Stephen A. Smith Amid Magic-Steph Debate: ‘Magic Johnson Is Easily the Best Point Guard of All Time’

Michael Jordan Makes $10 Million Donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation to Celebrate His 60th Birthday

Recently, conversation about the greatest point guard of all time has risen. The candidates are between Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry. Lately, Steph Curry claimed the throne, acknowledging Magic as his only competition. But not so fast, says Michael Jordan.

According to Stephen A. Smith, Jordan sent him a text message stating the title still belongs to Magic Johnson.

“Although greatest of anything is always a debate, I beg to differ on greatest point guard of all-time… Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all time. Steph Curry is very close, but not in front of Magic,” Jordan’s text read, according to Smith.

In addition to “very close,” Jordan complimented Curry, calling him “by far the best shooter of all time.”

Steph Curry Appears To Try His Hand At Rapping On Tobe Nwigwe’s ‘Lil Fish, Big Pond’

Texas rapper Tobe Nwigwe has a history of tapping some interesting collaborators, from 2 Chainz and Chamillionaire to Bun B and CyHi The Prynce. He’s even worked with NBA player Damian Lillard, who goes by Dame D.O.L.L.A. in his rap alter ego. Today, Tobe added another NBA star to the list — albeit one who is better known for shooting like Dame than rapping like him. Steph Curry, who recently demonstrated some impressive acumen on the golf course, appears to add to his range of skills in the video for Nwigwe’s “Lil Fish, Big Pond.”

Of course, while Curry proves pretty adept at lip-syncing, it’s pretty clear that it’s Tobe doing most of the actual rapping in the video as the two entertainers go fishing in, well, a pond. The Steph reveal is very clever, and for a second, you almost have to wonder what a real Steph Curry rap song would sound like. After all, he wouldn’t be the first NBA player to ponder a second career as a rapper, and many of them — even the part-time dabblers — often are pretty good at it, if not “Hip-Hop Hall Of Fame” good. Still, it’s a cool concept from Tobe, who directs, as usual, and styles the video, which features some impressive digital effects as well.

Steph Curry Game 3

The NBA has recently announced that Stephen Curry, the guard for the Golden State Warriors, has been honored as the 2022-23 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion. Curry was chosen as the recipient from a pool of five finalists due to his unwavering commitment to promoting social justice and carrying forward Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s lifelong mission of fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and equality for historically marginalized individuals and disadvantaged groups.

Stephen Curry is a dedicated advocate for social justice, equity, and opportunity. His efforts include co-chairing Michelle Obama’s “When We All Vote” initiative, where he actively promotes voter registration and education. Curry’s involvement in the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition’s “Freedom to Vote” campaign further demonstrates his commitment to civic engagement. He also addresses issues of community safety and took the opportunity during the Golden State Warriors’ visit to the White House to engage with President Biden and participate in a press briefing. Additionally, Curry focuses on supporting underrepresented groups and reducing barriers to opportunity. Through his lifestyle brand, UNDERRATED, he empowers student-athletes and provides access and visibility to overlooked talent. Curry’s nonprofit organization, Eat. Learn. Play., ensures that children in Oakland have access to nutritious food, educational resources, and safe recreational spaces. His initiatives have made a significant impact, including providing meals, books, and remodeled play spaces for thousands of students and families in need.

“I’m passionate about the work of the University of San Francisco Institute for Nonviolence and Social Justice and its commitment to overcoming injustice and systemic violence through peace,” said Curry.  “As an athlete, I consistently leverage my platform to amplify advocacy and address the pervasive issue of systemic racism.  I firmly believe that we must be vocal both on social media and in real life, taking tangible actions to effect real change in our society and for generations to come.  Together, with the organization’s co-founder and director, Dr. Clarence B. Jones, we have initiated meaningful conversations around social justice with the school’s student body, doubled the charity’s donations through my foundation Eat. Learn. Play.’s gift matching initiatives, and continued building on its mission in my personal and professional life by holding people accountable and promoting the principles of justice, fairness and equality today, tomorrow and in the future.”

The NBA has announced that the four other finalists for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion Award, namely Jaren Jackson Jr., Tre Jones, Chris Paul, and Grant Williams, will each receive a $25,000 donation from the NBA. Pulled a Webber: Stephen Curry and Warriors Survive Game 4 After Timeout Turnover

Fubqcr9WwAEudTV

With 40 seconds left in game four against the Sacramento Kings, Stephen Curry called a timeout when he could not inbound the ball and resume play. The only issue was the Golden State Warriors didn’t have any timeouts.

The result of the play was a technical foul and then a follow-up bucket, allowing the Kings to come within one point in the crucial game. Curry missed a floater in the following possession, but the Kings could not hit a game-winner. The Warriors escaped the game 126-125, shifting the series back to Sacramento.

In the postgame, Curry stated he didn’t realize the team was out of timeouts once they lost a challenge. According to him, head coach Steve Kerr took the blame for the moment.

“[Coach] took the blame for it, but I ain’t going to lie: I thought it was the smartest play in the world,” Curry said. “I looked at the bench, and everybody was shaking their head. It was an unfortunate situation.”

Many on Twitter connected the moment to Chris Webber’s time at the University of Michigan, which cost the Fab Five a championship run.
