22Gz & Shawny Binladen Unleash On “Max Out”

It looks like a new album from 22Gz could be arriving in the near future. The Brooklyn drill pioneer delivered a series of records this year, including his collab with Sniper Gang founder, Kodak Black, “Up N Stuck,” “Sniper Gang Freestyle Pt. 2,” and the SPMB Bills-assisted, “Why Would I Lack?”

Today, the “Twirlanta” rapper debuted his latest single, “Max Out” ft. Shawny Binladen. The two rappers collide over exhilarating drill production, handled by Muddi Gold and Teddy Da Don, with menacing bars that encompass the urgency of street warfare.

Shawny Binladen’s on a hell of a run this year, as well. He released a deluxe version of Merry Wickmas 2 at the top of the year before following it up with projects like, Wick City and Wick The Wizard.

Reason Taps ICECOLDBISHOP For Hazy New Banger “Sign Language”

TDE’s Reason’s second LP is officially on the way. The California spitter blessed fans with “Impalas & Hydraulics” ft. The Game earlier this year as fans anticipated his follow-up to 2020’s New Beginnings. He’s continued to offer fans new music over the past two years, including freestyles and No More, No Less: Demo 1.

This week, Reason unloaded a brand new banger alongside ICECOLDBISHOP titled, “Sign Language.” Over hazy production, Reason and BISHOP flex their lyrical dexterity as they swap bars back and forth. Their chemistry is seamless but it’s the contrasts in their delivery and flows that invigorate the song in each verse.

Hopefully, we’ll get a release date for Reason’s upcoming album in the coming week. For now, press play on “Sign Language” below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
I pull up on extra, brand new coupe, yeah bitch, we flexin’, huh

Where I’m reckless, show, they gon’ give me dap or get beheaded

JELEEL! Drops Wavy New Track, “DELIVER!”

JELEEL! is one of the rap game’s most notable up-and-comers, especially thanks to his passionate and viral followings on social media platforms like TikTok. The 26-year-old is known for his aggressive rage beat choices, high-pitched and vibrant vocals, and for being an absolute unit that can do backflips and stage dives without breaking a sweat. He’s been making waves as a must-see live act and as a consistent advocate for love and positivity, resulting in a wholesome fan environment and one of the best sets at this year’s Rolling Loud. However, with his latest single “DELIVER!” JELEEL! is looking to deliver a new sound and style to his followers.

Instead of the trap ragers that JELEEL! is known to drop, such as his 2021 breakout hit “DIVE IN!,” “DELIVER!” employs more of a dancehall and Afrobeats-inspired rhythm. Sure, the deep bass and fluttering hi-hats you’d expect from a trap beat are still there, and the beat still has the atmospheric saw synths that have defined rage music. But the more easy-going rhythm and optimistic soundscape only further emphasizes JELEEL!’s vocal melodies and positive energy.

“DELIVER! is a such a special record to me because the sound and message is the complete embodiment of JELEEL! and my journey,” said the Nigerian-born rapper. “I’ve been through so much, from homelessness, to being doubted and pushed aside as an artist. This record is a victory lap for me, and a reminder to myself to always keep me head up and push through any adversity. No matter what comes my way, JELEEL! is going to DELIVER!”

He also gave a high-impact performance at Philadelphia’s Made In America Festival this year, and is anticipating a standout performance at this weekend’s Rolling Loud New York. JELEEL!’s not likely to slow down, and he’ll keep going with the same positivity and high-octane energy that he’s built a name from. Lil Nas X Teams Up With “League Of Legends” On New Song “STAR WALKIN'”

Ever since 2019’s viral hit “Old Town Road,” Lil Nas X has become a bonafide superstar. He is massive in the pop world, and he continues to increase his stardom. His last album was filled with bangers and softer tracks, and now, he is back with a new single called “STAR WALKIN'” which just so happens to be the anthem for the next League Of Legends World Championship.

As you can imagine from a song of this nature, the track is filled with soaring hooks and braggadocios yet inspiring verses. As for the production, it appears as though Nas X has gone for some drill motifs. The hook has your typical fast-paced pop production, but when the verses come in, we get those heavy 808s mixed with horns and other synth sounds. It’s a valiant effort that will prove to be a solid theme song for the biggest LoL event of the year.

Let us know what you think about this new song, in the comments down below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Don’t ever say it’s over if I’m breathin’
Racin’ to the moonlight and I’m speedin’
I’m headed to the stars, ready to go far
I’m star walkin’

Icewear Vezzo Unleashes “They Can’t FWM”

Detroit and Michigan as a whole have cemented their sound in the current landscape of hip-hop. Icewear Vezzo’s remained one of the most consistent rappers out of the bunch, earning praise from his peers, fans, and critics with each of his releases.

All of the success led to his newly inked deal with Quality Control. The deal went down in early August and Vezzo hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down.

Today, the rapper emerged with his latest release, “They Can’t FWM.” His laidback delivery takes center stage over ominous production detailing his rising profile in hip-hop with his signature style of witty wordplay.

Check out the latest record from Vezzo below and sound off on your thoughts in the comment section.

Cozz Flips Two Drake Songs On “All Love/Jaded”

Cozz doesn’t release music as frequently as we might want him to but every time he comes through, it’s undeniable heat. Whether it’s his contributions to Dreamville compilation projects or EP’s like 2021’s Fortunate, he leaves fans demanding more. That is especially the case with his freestyles, as well.

Over the weekend, Cozz blessed fans with a double whammy titled, “All Love/Jaded.” The new freestyle finds the Dreamville record tackling two Drake songs — one from Certified Lover Boy, the other from Scorpion — where he puts his spin on the lush production. Cozz’s versatility as an MC and vocalist take center stage on this one, too.

Take a listen to Cozz’s latest freestyle below and let us know what you think in the comment section of “All Love/Jaded.”

Quotable Lyrics
You said you couldn’t focus with me ’round because I’m somethin’ like a vacation
But somehow you was still always willin’ to take it
You was makin’ drives daily to see the boy, I enjoyed that
Thought of makin’ you a key to put under the doormat
Hard workin’ and independent, I always adored that

Tee Grizzley Delivers His Latest Single “Jay & Twan 1”

Something’s telling us that Tee Grizzley might be dropping one of his best projects to date. Over the last week, he’s ramped up the efforts ahead of his next album, Chapters Of The Trenches, kicking the campaign off with “Robbery Pt. 4.” The record showcased Tee Grizzley as one of the fiercest storytellers in the game. He elevated his signature series with suspenseful bars and it looks like fans could expect even more of that on his upcoming project.

Today, the rapper unleashed his latest single, “Jay & Twan 1.” The record explores the story of two neighborhood crooks who ultimately turn on each other to secure a bag and avoid their own deaths. Grizzley’s vivid storytelling on “Jay & Twan 1” provides the type of details you’d expect from a thriller film.

No release date for Chapters Of The Trenches is confirmed but at this rate, it looks like it could be coming soon.

Jamie xx Returns With Upbeat “KILL DEM” Dance Track: Listen

Jamie xx provided his fans with a summer anthem in the form of “LET’S DO IT AGAIN” a few months back, and now, the 33-year-old has returned with a new dance track to bring us into autumn, this one called “KILL DEM.”

A press release notes that the single was created keeping Notting Hill Carnival in mind, particularly the energy and sounds Jamie himself experienced while first attending the event as a teenager. Back in August, the entertainer performed at Carnival for the first time in his career, marking a huge personal milestone.

The xx member has been touring across several festivals over the summer, and even debuted a new show at Coachella that Pitchfork described as “the most brilliantly conceived performance of the weekend.”

Aside from his exciting new single, Jamie has upcoming plans to perform a few shows in America before September closes out. At the end of October, he’ll be headed to Japan to take the stage at Tonal in Tokyo, and from there, he has stops in Italy, Mexico, and Australia to close out his 2022.

PlayThatBoiZay Taps Denzel Curry & ICECOLDBISHOP For “90s Baby” Remix

Florida has been a key player in the hip-hop game for almost a decade now, and rising star PlayThatBoiZay is no exception to this rule. His aggressive and metal-influenced delivery and sound is propelling the legacies of fellow Floridians Ski Mask the Slump God and XXXTENTACION, and has been picked up in a high-profile way by frequent collaborator Denzel Curry. He makes an appearance on the newly released remix of Zay’s track “90s Baby” along with L.A. rapper ICECOLDBISHOP, and the results are unsurprisingly explosive. It’s accompanied by a whip-skirting music video and another new Zay track, “Lil Jit,” was released in tandem.

The remix keeps the original track’s rage instrumental, rooted in fuzzy and reverb-heavy saw synths that provide an atmosphere instead of a catchy melody. It’s a perfect backdrop for the harder-hitting drums that truly propel the track, and rage is also a formula that Zay seems quite comfortable inhabiting. It might not be as in-your-face or high-octane as his Denzel Curry collab “P.A.T.,” or when compared to his more popular songs like “SWAMP,” but it places more emphasis on Zay’s hedonistic chorus detailing drug-addled delusion and Glocks that “ain’t got no safety.”

Denzel keeps the hedonism going with a verse full of crazy flows and rhymes. He talks about new swag, feeling like Hades in the heat of both Miami and the streets, strumming quick like a ukulele, and urges enemies to stick to the topic of “f**k you, pay me.” Unsurprisingly, Denzel makes for the track’s lyrical highlight. The vocal highlight, however, is easily ICECOLDBISHOP’s raspy and high-pitched voice. Despite the jump in octaves, the MC is still able to come off murderous and dominant.

Check out the video for the Florida-L.A. banger “90s Baby” below.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m a hood 90s baby,
First gunned down a n***a shot with my cousin, .380,
All my n***as tweaking off the drugs, we goin’ crazy,
Pray the gang stay safe, I know these Glocks ain’t got no safety

Gucci Mane Brings BiC Fizzle & BigWalkDog Together On “Red Flag”

Gucci Mane has really only gotten better with time. Though his music might not reflect the cult-like status he developed before he cleaned up, he’s still coming through with solid tracks and even better bars than he has in the past.

Gucci’s largely used his platform these days to develop the 1017 roster. His latest projects, such as So Icy Gang: The ReUp, largely put a spotlight on the talent on his label.

This afternoon, the rapper unveiled his latest single, “Red Flag” ft. BiC Fizzle and BigWalkDog. The Tay Keith-produced record takes on the viral trend as the three rappers flaunt their status and wealth.
