Kid Cudi & Ty Dolla $ign Drop Off “Willing To Trust” Collab Track: Listen

Kid Cudi isn’t letting the unexpected leak of his Entergalactic album get him down. Ahead of the project’s September 30th release date, the “Mr. Rager” hitmaker has shared a new single, this one in collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, called “Willing To Trust.”

Fans of Cudi will already know that his impending project will accompany his animated Netflix series, due to drop on the same day. Cast members who lent their voice acting talents include Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Hudgens, Macaulay Culkin, and Jaden Smith, just to name a few.

“Your touch paralyzes me in the mornin’ / And I don’t want you to go / Sincerely yours, forevermore / And teach me what you know,” the 38-year-old sings on his first verse.

Of his decision to make the album, Cudi told Billboard, “I always wanted to do something visual accompanying an album, but so many people have tried that. I just wanted to figure out another approach that hadn’t been done before. With this, the process was really simple. I masterminded this whole thing and said, ‘Okay, it’s best if I make the music first and then we go in and write the scripts.”

The recording artist also shared that he’s been working on his memoir, revealing his troubled roots and deepest vulnerabilities to his audience.

Freddie Gibbs Details A Harrowing Reality On James Blake-Produced “Dark Hearted”

In the past two years, Freddie Gibbs went from an overlooked champ of the underground to a Grammy-nominated rapper who went toe-to-toe against Nas for the Rap Album Of The Year. Despite his accomplishments, his online antics have overshadowed the quality of music he releases. It’s turned Gibbs into a regular trending topic on Twitter as he takes shots at anyone and everyone. Audiences became polarized but the long-awaited $oul $old $eparately is aiming to turn his non-believers to his side.

On Friday morning, the rapper debuted the second single off of $$$, the James Blake-produced, “Dark Hearted.” Unlike “Too Much,” The Gary, IN native comes through with sobering introspection over darker production that isn’t catered to the clubs. Gibbs’s melodic inflections and watery cadences contrast the airy and ominous production that Blake lays down. Still, Freddie’s lucid lyricism and Blake’s ethereal production pair together for what might be one of the best rap records of the year.

If this is any indication of the remainder of $oul $oul $eparately, then Freddie Gibbs might end sneaking in with a last-minute contender for Album Of The Year, as he’s promised.

Quotable Lyrics
Dare a n***a put his hands on me
I’mma pop another bottle and pour one out for your dead homies
Swear my friends turnin’ feds on me
Man, these p***sy n***as might take the stand on me

Stormzy Makes His Return With “Mel Made Me Do It”

The UK rap scene is flourishing across the world but at the end of the day, it’s hard not to acknowledge the effect that Stormzy had on opening the doors for the younger artists. It’s been roughly three years since the release of Heavy Is The Head and he’s been rather lowkey. With the exception of his two diss tracks towards Wiley, he hasn’t dropped any solo music recently.

Today, the rapper made his long-awaited comeback with the release of “Mel Made Me Do It.” The new song from the South London is a lyrical exercise with a 7-minute run-time that finds him reminding everyone why he’s one of the nicest to do it in the UK. He throws shots at his naysayers, including Wiley, flexing different flows across the Knox Brown-produced record.

Quotable Lyrics
All I see is washed up Godfathers, and washed up podcasters
I don’t own my masters, I ain’t got masters
I throw a party on a yacht and wear my yachtmaster
They think I just chart up but I’m the top charter

22Gz & Shawny Binladen Unleash On “Max Out”

It looks like a new album from 22Gz could be arriving in the near future. The Brooklyn drill pioneer delivered a series of records this year, including his collab with Sniper Gang founder, Kodak Black, “Up N Stuck,” “Sniper Gang Freestyle Pt. 2,” and the SPMB Bills-assisted, “Why Would I Lack?”

Today, the “Twirlanta” rapper debuted his latest single, “Max Out” ft. Shawny Binladen. The two rappers collide over exhilarating drill production, handled by Muddi Gold and Teddy Da Don, with menacing bars that encompass the urgency of street warfare.

Shawny Binladen’s on a hell of a run this year, as well. He released a deluxe version of Merry Wickmas 2 at the top of the year before following it up with projects like, Wick City and Wick The Wizard.
