Pa Salieu Drops Party Banger “Bad”

Coming fresh off his latest EP, Afrikan Rebel, Pa Salieu is back with his latest single, “Bad,” marking his first-ever collaboration with Manchester song-writer Aitch.

The track is an absolute party rager, with groovy African beats, an insanely catchy hook, and synergy between the collaborators. The Coventry-raised rapper has been tearing up the UK Drill scene for a hot minute, with his debut single “Frontline” steadily taking its place as the most played track of 2020 on BBC Radio 1Xtra. The hit single led to exposure for the up-and-coming artist, who made his US TV debut with his performance of the song on Jimmy Fallon, followed by his first tour last May.

Check out the song and music video below.

Mac Miller & Earl Sweatshirt Offered Psychedelic Vibes On “Polo Jeans”

Mac Miller has received a lot of posthumous support over the last three years and deservingly so. He is an artist that meant so much to so many people, and his music truly developed as he grew up. In 2014, Mac released a mixtape called Faces which had never been placed on streaming services. That all changed on Friday as the mixtape came back to the internet, with some extra songs attached.

One of the OG tracks from the mixtape, however, was “Polo Jeans” featuring Earl Sweatshirt. This track features some nice psychedelic production, all while Mac Miller and Earl Sweatshirt trade bars about a variety of topics, including fashion. The duo had impeccable chemistry, and it’s clear the two enjoyed working together.

You can stream the classic track, below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I give no fucks when I go nuts
‘Cause I smoke dust, overdosed on the sofa, dead

Woke up from a coma
Poured up with a soda, smoked, went back to bed

KYLE Gets In His R&B Bag On New Track “Sunday”

KYLE has always been known for coming through with some bubbly tracks, and over time, that is what his fans have expected from him. Ever since the release of iSpy with Lil Yachty a few years ago, KYLE has ascended the ranks of pop-rap, and to this day, he continues to thrive. With that said, KYLE recently came through with a brand new track called “Sunday,” which sees the artist going for an r&b type sound.

Throughout the song, KYLE sings about Sundays and how he wishes to spend the evening with a girl he likes. He sings about a failed situationship in which the two parties simply cannot get away from one another. It is subject matter that is common in the r&b space, and KYLE does a good job putting his stamp on the sound.

You can check out the new track, below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Why you gotta lie and tell your friends that we done for?
Just the other night you was laid up in my condo
If I call your line, I bet you’re pulling up pronto
Said I’d never hit again, but then I hit it once more

Young Thug Teams Up With J. Cole & T-Shyne On Smooth Track “Stressed”

Young Thug is one of the more eclectic artists in the world and he knows how to make a statement with his music. The artist has been going at it for a very long time now, and on Friday, he dropped off his brand new album Punk which appears to be a spiritual successor to Beautiful Thugger Girls. Acoustic ballads can be heard all across the tracklist, and there are some dope tracks to be found here, including “Stressed” with J. Cole and T-Shyne.

Throughout this track, we get some nice melodies all while J. Cole comes in and spits some bars, all while doing a Thugger impression later on in the song. Overall, it is a solid effort from these three that goes hard. If you’re a fan of any of the artists billed here, then this is a must-listen track for the weekend.

Quotable Lyrics:

Kali Uchis Drops Off “If It’s To Be” Ahead Of Animated Netflix Event

Earlier this month, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demoniossinger Kali Uchis heated things up with SZA, enlisting the “Love Galore” singer for an updated version of “fue mejor,” complete with a steamy music video.

Now, Uchis is switching gears.

Releasing her new single “If It’s To Be,” Uchis is going down the animated Netflix children’s movie route.

“If It’s To Be,” released just one week ahead of the premiere Netflix Futures’ Maya and the Three, is set to be included in the animated event and also received a Maya and the Three-themed lyric video.

Released in both English and Spanish, “If It’s To Be” tells a story of an antagonist determined to find her place among the Gods. With many inspirational lines about finding the courage to fight and flying high above all the negativity life has to offer, “If It’s To Be” is a change of pace for Uchis, but is a glowing example of her range and ability to mold her voice for any purpose.

Quotable Lyrics
Do the Gods seek Greater Gods that hear them when they pray?
I hope they will remember, remember me today
Lead me, angels, to the missing heart that lives to hold
The woman and the warrior for the light that lives inside my soul

Roc Marciano Links Up With Nicholas Craven On “1000 Mile Stare”

The revival of New York hip-hop and it’s cold sound has been a blessing to eardrums everywhere.

From Dave East and Don Q holding it down in the city to the Griselda team doing its thing out in Buffalo to NYC legends like Fat Joe, Ja Rule and Jadakiss (sorry, Dipset) blasting back onto the scene with incredible Verzuz battles, that distinctive New York sound is back and some weight has been lifted off Nas and Jay-Z’s shoulders.

Roc Marciano is another one of those dudes spitting the realest bars over the toughest beats and on his most recent release, “1000 Mile Stare,” the Long Island native paints a picture of a dude getting through grimy situation after grimy situation with the help of his friends, Smith and Wesson.

“1000 Mile Stare” is produced by Nicholas Craven. Craven, who has made music for Marciano, Ransom, Mach-Hommy and all three Griselda members, flips a soothing soul sample into an ominously warm, lo-fi instrumental and Roc sticks with his customary, close-to-spoken-word flow for the entirety of the record.

Quotable Lyrics
Can never be too reluctant
To shoot the musket
My knuckles is jewel-encrusted
You on f**k sh*t
Made a few adjustments, n****s bit the swag but couldn’t do it justice
It’s quite flattering, I find it embarassing
Y’all stinkin’ up the joint like a quiet flatulent

Montreal Artist Pope Silk Shares New Single “userNAME”

We haven’t heard from Montreal artist Pope Silk in a couple of years, and although the rising Montreal-based artist has not offered an explanation for his musical hiatus, he has officially returned with his latest single “userNAME.”

Check Out Mac Miller & Vince Staples’ Classic “Faces” Cut “Rain”

For Mac Miller fans who followed the Pittsburgh rapper’s rise from recent high school graduate on his 2010 mixtape K.I.D.S. to his posthumous Circles, released in 2020, the re-release of Faces on digital streaming platforms is a moment of nostalgia — a blast from the past, when everything felt more simple.

For Mac Miller fans who have recently discovered the seemingly-endless catalogue of music dating back to when he was only 15 and spitting under the name Easy Mac, the re-release of Faces is a look inside the mind of a tortured artist obliged to pour everything he has into a 25-song mixtape.

“Rain,” the 20th song on Faces, features longtime Mac friend and collaborator, Vince Staples, and is arguably the most to-the-point record on the entire project.

Between Staples’ verse detailing his upbringing in Long Beach and the street politics that come with it, and Miller’s deep-dive into his relationship and the pitfalls of mixing love and substances, “Rain” is what Faces is all about. Coming from an early-20s perspective (Miller and Staples were 22 and 20 at the time of Faces’ initial release) the record winds through the thought processes of two up-and-coming rappers as they deal with very different, but very painful struggles in life.

Produced by 9th Wonder, “Rain” is one of the few tracks not produced by Larry Fisherman (Miller’s production alias) but fits perfectly into the end of the record’s tracklist and has had the staying power to remain poignant, even seven years after it was initially released.

Quotable Lyrics
I spit that prayer hand emoji, that sh*t that injured Kobe
The holiest of holy, Nick Nolte in some Oakleys
That’s a flex, though
Sober, I can’t deal, I’m in the corner with my head low
Running from my shadow, never ending chase
Ease the pain of the battle that’s within me
Sniff the same sh*t that got Whitney, the high heel depression
My temple feel the metal coming out the Smith & Wesson, bang

Check out “Rain” and its accompanying visuals, which were debuted last night as part of an audiovisual presentation of Faces and let us know what you think down below.

Like when I’m pissed off I throw your shit out my closet
