Quinn XCII Teams Up With Big Sean On New Single “Common”

Artists Quinn XCII and Big Sean might belong to different genres, but their exquisite talent and same state of origin allowed them to collaborate in the same space.

Yesterday (September 23), the two Detroit, Michigan natives released “Common.” The two-and-a-half-minute record featured soulful piano sounds accompanied by lively horns that force a head nod. Quinn XCII, whose real name is Mikael Temrowski, hit the ground running with his memorable hook, in which he talked about how rare it is to find someone similar to you.

“You, you and me go together so perfectly/And this don’t happen often/We got so much in common,” the 30-year-old sang. Big Sean kept the same energy in his sharp and slick verse, rapping, “I just gotta say thank you/Cause life changed everything and it ain’t changed you.”

When talking about the collab, Quinn stated, “As an artist born and raised in metro Detroit, Big Sean has always been a huge inspiration and working with him has been a dream of mine. When I made ‘Common,’ I immediately knew it was special and that Sean would be the perfect addition. It’s been amazing getting to work with him, shooting the video, and building a relationship.”

Your mama love me like I’m folk

DaBaby Self-Directs Himself In The “SOCKS” Music Video: Watch

DaBaby delivered his surprise Baby On Baby 2 album yesterday (September 23), loaded with wild surprises for listeners. From a claim that he was “f*ckin’ on Megan Thee Stallion” on “BOOGEYMAN” to sampling the 9/11 audio from a shooting altercation he was in earlier this year on “SOCKS,” the North Carolina-based artist has proven that he’s still the same old Jonathan Kirk, despite all the fame and fortune he’s amassed.

On the latter track – produced by JetsonMade, Pooh Beatz, and Los – the 30-year-old directed himself in the accompanying music video, switching between playing the role of a newly married man who’s arrested after catching his wife in an act of infidelity.

“I do everything way better than you / Bitch ass n*ggas, I ain’t caring what you do,” Baby raps, as braggadocious as ever. “Bitch ass n*gga, I ain’t scary Imma shoot / Bitch get missing, I ain’t caring if she cute / Nah for real, probably keep it too real / Ain’t no secret can’t keep my lil chill / N*ggas gone eat d*ck just to keep that lil deal / Lost 20 million for keeping it real.”

Quotable Lyrics:

Getting into it with one shoe on
Hitting that hoe with my socks
Popping shit how I pop it, uh
Riding around with that glock, yeah
Talking shit like my mama
Ready to hit like my pops
Come f*ck around with me, f*ck around with me, you gone f*ck around and get shot

Khalid Floats Through Futuristic “Satellite” Visual

It has been a busy New Music Friday (September 23) and we’re here with another addition, this time from Khalid. The Grammy-nominated crooner has returned with his new single “Satellite,” a track that arrived with a futuristic Levi Turner-directed visual to complement the temperature of the song.

This comes a month after Khalid joined Marshmello for a live performance of their “Numb” collaboration at the MTV Video Music Awards. It also follows a string of releases in 2022 including “Last Call,” “Skyline,” and “Wish You Were Here.” It has been rumored that Khalid is finishing up his next project, as we haven’t received a new record since his Scenic Drive mixtape last December.

“’Satellite’ is a visual portrait of my growth as a human being,” said Khalid. “And the self-love journey I have experienced in my life.”

DaBaby Claims He “Was F*ckin On Megan Thee Stallion” On “BOOGEYMAN”

DaBaby is best known for his wild antics, and along with his latest album – Baby On Baby 2 – comes some of his most scandalous to date in the form of a claim that he slept with Megan Thee Stallion before she was allegedly shot by Tory Lanez.

The North Carolina-based rapper wasted no time in dropping the controversial bars, “You play with me, that shit was childish / The day before she said that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f*ckin’ on Megan Thee Stallion,” less than 30 seconds into “BOOGEYMAN.”

Baby goes on to then throw shade at MTS’ boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine, before menacingly rhyming on the hook, “You play with me, oh God damn / Shut the lights off, Boogeyman.”

Had her pretty boy, boyfriend tweeting me, ready to die ’bout the bitch like a coward

Giveon Secures Yet Another Collab With Drake On “Time”

Giveon remains one of the most exciting R&B stars of today, even if he’s rather lowkey compared to most of his peers. From his appearance on Drake’s “Chicago” to cementing his name with projects like Take Time and Give Or Take, Giveon proved that he can’t really miss, even if he tried.

Today, the singer debuted his new single, “Time” off of the official soundtrack for Amsterdam, which counts Drake as an executive producer. However, it seems like he also has a heavy hand in the soundtrack since he served as a co-writer on the song, along with Daniel Pemberton. Giveon’s smooth, lush vocals grace warm, majestic production for a cinematic record that deserves to be on your weekend playlist.

Amsterdam hits theatres on Oct. 7th, the same day that the soundtrack will be released.

Boasting 22 titles on the tracklist, the 26-year-old’s new arrival includes just two features – one from Babyface Ray on “WHITE HOUSE,” and another from Future on “KAPITOL DENIM” – the latter of which we’re spotlighting today.

The brief track starts off with Future flexing his luxurious lifestyle, as per usual. “Some crazy girls out in Cali from all round the globe, I been on the road / Plain Jane watch, money don’t stop,” he raps. “Buy me a plane, I’ma land it on the block / Just to deal with this shit, n*ggas gotta be hot.”

SiR Returns To Share Groovy “Nothing Even Matters” Single

As he prepares for the arrival of his Heavy album, Inglewood-born recording artist SiR has shared a groovy new single to set the R&B season mood for his fans called “Nothing Even Matters.”

While shooting a cover story for Okay Player, the 35-year-old gave an interview revealing what listeners can expect to hear from him, also breaking down the details of his latest single, which he’s described as “the best song he’s ever created about his wife” as he croons about their journey together and not being able to picture life without her.

As for the record as a whole, SiR hinted that Heavy will be thematically similar to Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. “I think my album is very similar to [Kendrick’s] because it talks a lot about mental health, and it talks a lot about just growth,” he shared.

“It’s me growing as a person, and I think that’s what [Kendrick] was trying to show people on his album, who he was at the moment. I definitely enjoyed the album.”

Stream “Nothing Even Matters” on Spotify, Apple Music, or Soundcloud below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more music updates.

Quotable Lyrics:

Since I can remember, I been rollin’ with the stones
Didn’t really think I’d ever find a place I belong
But since you came in the picture, I made a vow to behave
Didn’t want you dealin’ with someone who would just drown in your wave

Tory Lanez Teases His New Album With Fresh Single “Why Did I”

Tory Lanez has been extremely consistent when it comes to his releases over the last year. Starting with his 80s album Alone At Prom, Tory was able to show fans that he can do pretty much any style of music if he sets his mind to it. Since that time, he has dropped a plethora of new singles, and next week, he is going to be dropping his new album Sorry 4 What.

To help promote this new body of work, Tory has come out with a single called “Why Did I.” As you will hear, this song is a great mixture of styles as Tory gives us both rap and r&b flows. The song has braggadocios bars and Tory’s sound is definitely apparent here. The beat is also hard-hitting, with the drums doing much of the talking.

Let us know what you think of the new track, in the comments down below.

Quotable Lyrics:

But I drove in black on black McLaren like a mobster
Oh, pretty bad bitches on my roster
Down to get it poppin’ like it’s over Orville Redenbacher
How (How?) the fuck (The fuck) you gon’ sober with that vodka?

Fabolous & Dave East Keep It Player On “BACH TO BACH”

Fabolous has settled into his position as an elder statesman in the game in recent years. He hasn’t necessarily released much music, though that seems to be changing in recent times. He linked up with Jim Jones on “Rich Hustle,” followed it up with the video for “Easy” with DaniLeigh and Fivio Foreign, and now, he’s joined forces with Harlem’s Dave East for an ode to luxury.

The two rappers released their new collaboration, “BACH TO BACH” this morning. The luscious soul sample flip from Sonaro brings a perfect East Coast soundscape for East and Fab to flex their lyrical muscle as they go verse-for-verse. East and Fab’s chemistry shine as they swap street tales and success stories with smooth flows.

Check out Fab and East’s new collab, “BACH TO BACH” below.
