Kanye West Files Trademark For “YZY Sock Shoes”

Ye, formerly Kayne West, has lost a lot of his mainstream appeal in recent months. His anti-Semitic tirade on Twitter cost him a lot of fans, as well as his incredibly lucrative partnership with Addidas. Despite claiming he wanted to step away from the spotlight, the musician is still finding ways to generate controversy. This comes alongside news that Ye is still co-parenting his children alongside his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

In terms of controversy, much of it revolves around his various fashion lines. The Yeezy Season 10 fashion show had several elements that commentators noted were linked to Nazism and white supremacy. Furthermore, he just also recently ordered to pay $300k in the lawsuit surrounding YZY SHADZ. Safe to say the fashion side of things isn’t going great. But in the midst of all this, and his Presidential run, Ye is somehow still innovating.

Ye Files Sock Shoe Trademark

According to TMZ, Ye’s Mascotte Holdings Inc. submitted a trademark for “YZY SOCK SHOES”. The identifying information provides the additional description of “Socks; socks with leather soles.” This is not actually a new idea from Ye, who was seen wearing a similar product in 2019. However, little more than the trademark submission and the document identifier exist at this time. Ye and YZY are yet to make a public announcement about the upcoming project.

As for who might sell the Sock Shoes, if they ever hit the market. Addidas is out for obvious reasons. Meanwhile, other major companies and retailers will likely avoid working with Ye if possible. While he could sell them directly through the Yeezy brand, it’s unclear how much operational capacity the company still retains. However, Ye is set to make some money the coming months. It was reported that Addidas will sell off the remaining stock of Yeezys, which is valued at over $1 billion. Ye will make 15% of that sale per his contract with Addidas. Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” Release Details

One of the best Jumpman silhouettes is certainly the Air Jordan 4. Overall, this is a shoe that has received its fair share of incredible offerings over the years. Although there are other amazing silhouettes from Jordan Brand, the Jordan 4 definitely stands out. It was a nice evolution on the Air Jordan 3, and it remains an iconic offering. The hype for this shoe simply will not die off. Whenever a new colorway is released, fans flock to it. Consequently, Jumpman continues to make new and improved versions of the classic model.

That said, there are a ton of great colorways that could receive a retro. Overall, most of the OG color schemes have already gotten said retros. Subsequently, it would be redundant to keep releasing them. However, there are a few amazing Air Jordan 4 models that were released once, only to never be heard from again. Jumpman is aware of this, and they know that some sneakerheads have been clamoring for new retros. A great example of their awareness is the return of the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder.”

The Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” was a reverse version of the Jordan 4 “Lightning.” Overall, this is a colorway that immediately caught on with fans. For the most part, they absolutely loved this shoe. Firstly, the upper is covered in black suede which creates a really sharp look. Secondly, we get a midsole that is covered in yellow. Lastly, this yellow look is then extended over to the lace locks on the sides, as well as the material underneath the upper’s black mesh. Altogether, this shoe just looks fantastic.

Drake’s NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra Revealed In Three New Colorways

Drake is someone that has done a lot in the sneaker world over the years. Moreover, he has been a huge player in the streetwear game. Overall, Nike has given him some creative control, and it has made for a beautiful partnership. Subsequently, the artist has developed his own athleisure brand within Nike called “NOCTA.” NOCTA has released a ton of great collections, and soon, they will be dropping yet another. This one is called “Distant Regards” and it will be full of great pieces.

Moreover, it seems like this new collection will contain some sneakers. This news comes to us from SneakerBarDetroit. The NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra has been a staple for the brand. Overall, Drake has shown an appreciation for dad shoes, and that is what this model is. However, there are some amazing colorways in it. Moreover, with this “Distant Regards” collection, we get three new offerings that all have a “Snakeskin” aesthetic to them.

Jordan MVP “Raptors” Officially Unveiled

One of the best new hybrid sneakers we have seen in quite some time is none other than the Jordan MVP. Overall, this is a shoe that combines the three iconic Michael Jordan sneakers. This list includes the Air Jordan 6, Air Jordan 7, and Air Jordan 8. Consequently, you can deduce these are an homage to Michael Jordan’s first three titles and Finals MVPs. Although, the way in which these shoes are combined is quite tasteful. This is a breath of fresh air for fans who are otherwise repulsed by hybrid shoes.

Throughout the last few months, we have seen a plethora of these colorways get teased online. Overall, it is easy to see why. This is a brand-new shoe and fans want to get their hands on them. Air Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined” Gets Crucial Update

Tinker Hatfield has designed some pretty incredible sneakers over the years, including the Air Jordan 4. Overall, this was the follow-up to his first sneaker for Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan 3. Although we have endured over 30 years of this sneaker, it remains extremely popular. It is just a classic silhouette that fans associate with streetwear culture, as well as MJ’s individual greatness. When this shoe was first released in 1989, it came out in four colorways. Nike Ja 1 “Hunger” Officially Revealed: Release Date

There have been some great signature sneaker releases so far this year, including the Nike Ja 1. Although Ja Morant has had his fair share of issues off the court, he was certainly great on the court this season. Overall, the Nike Ja 1 got to be a huge part of that. Overall, the best way to build hype is by creating a ton of new offerings. While some argue this is oversaturation, this would be a mistake. This is a strategy that works with the Air Jordan 1 and some of Nike’s other iconic silhouettes. Consequently, it could certainly work with Ja Morant’s first shoe.

“Hunger” Nike Ja 1

The latest Nike Ja 1 colorway to be shown off is this “Hunger” model. As you can immediately see, the shoe is mismatched. Firstly, the left shoe mostly has a red mesh upper, with the outsole giving us a dose of blue. Secondly, the right shoe is flipped with a blue mesh upper and some red on the outsole. Lastly, the midsole is black with some orange speckles throughout. We even get black on the Nike swoosh, for good measure.

Adidas Set To Sell Yeezy Brand Products Again, a Portion of Proceeds To Go to Charity

Adidas and Kanye West are back in business. News of the renewed partnership comes via the YEEZY MAFIA, a source of all things Yeezy, including his sneaker line.

Confirming the news, Reuters states Adidas CEO Bjoern Gulden revealed the renewed partnership to move some of the merchandise and donate a portion of the proceeds to international organizations.

A reported $1.3 billion in Yeezy-branded Adidas products are sitting in storage after the partnership was ended over the rapper’s antisemitic statements. Gulden stated plans for how Adidas will continue with the sale are not in place.

“What we are trying to do now over time is to sell some of this merchandise … burning the goods would not be a solution,” Gulden said.

Donating the sneakers was not an option out of fear the sneakers would reach the secondary market. Adidas stock is up 2% so far on the day. Ye would still receive 15% of the sales.

Speaking on the rapper, Culden stated about Ye, “As difficult as he was, he is perhaps the most creative mind in our industry.”
