Dame Dash Might Actually Be Selling His Share Of Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt”

Dame Dash has apparently been trying to get out of Roc-A-Fella for a while now, most recently reaching out to Kendrick Lamar with an offer to sell his one-third share in the company to him. But his most recent Instagram post has some fans scratching their heads, as he included the cover art for Jay-Z’s album Reasonable Doubt and the following caption: “This s**t is for sale 1/3 … only real inquiries only.” Moreover, it’s unclear if Dame wants to sell his partial ownership of the rights to the 1996 album or is talking about his one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella as a whole. Probably both, but history tells us that this could be a complicated process.

Furthermore, as we alluded to before, this is far from the first time that Dame Dash has tried to sell off his role in the Roc and move on. But when he tried to sell his share of Reasonable Doubt, the record company and Jay-Z himself were quick to respond with their best efforts to prevent this from happening. From the looks of it, they resolved the issue and agreed that Dame can eventually sell his shares in Roc-A-Fella, but not anything related to an album, since the actual ownership behind it is much more complicated. The crux of the Roc’s legal team was this: Dame can’t sell something he doesn’t own, and it held up.

Dame Dash Tries To Sell His Part Of The Roc Yet Again

Elsewhere, this comes amid Dame Dash, multiple other reflections on the Roc-A-Fella days and how he looks back at that era today. “In that moment, Roc-A-Fella was in trouble and if that ‘Big Pimpin” didn’t work, I was gon’ start rapping,” he told the Moguls In The Making podcast. “[I don’t got bars, but] I would have just did it for the company.” “Everything Jay said, he was pretending to be me,” Dame added about the smash hit.

Meanwhile, Dame Dash also recently commented on the horrifying nature of the Diddy situation. “If that were something I see happened to my daughters, Puff… he’s dead,” he remarked to Choppin It Up concerning the Cassie video. “I’d go do the time or I’d try to figure out how not to have to go do the time. I don’t think I could handle watching any many touching or doing any kind of violence to my daughters.”

Fivio Foreign Refuses To Sell His Catalog For Eight Figure Payout

One of New York’s big-time talents, Fivio Foreign, has really caught a lot of steam over the past couple of years. Ever since 2021 when he got a placement on Kanye West’s Donda record, more and more fans have taken notice of what he can do. His lengthy and impressive verse on the album’s hit song, “Off The Grid,” was certainly a standout moment. He even got Kanye West to rap over the drill beat and both showed terrific chemistry on that cut. Since that point, all Fivio has done since that point is garner more attention to him.

Just a few weeks ago, he made history by becoming the first rapper to make a song using an AI system. He partnered with a Japanese brand called SOUNDRAW, to help create a beat for his next song, “Doin Me.” He also raps on top of a drill instrumental, and it is already gaining some traction with over 32,000 streams. Many people have not heard of SOUNDRAW but it was a historic moment in the music industry and for Fivio to do this collaboration.

I’m not tho [sleeping emoji].” Dr. Dre, Future, and a handful have others have sold the respective discographies for a large amount as well, but Fivio is possibly waiting to see if that number could increase.

Boosie Badazz Plans To Sell Half Of His Independent Catalog For Up To $20 Million

With over twenty years in the game, Boosie Badazz built up quite the impressive and respected catalog over the years. Many of his big hits and moments are collaborative, but he holds just as much weight as a solo artist. What’s more is that the 40-year-old also owns a significant chunk of his music, from which he gets a lot of revenue. Still, with more things to think about and amid a new phase in his life, he’s thinking about the smartest moves for the future when it comes to his music. Moreover, the Baton Rouge MC recently stated in a The Danza Project interview that he plans to rearrange his finances and royalties.

“I’m finna do a deal on my independent catalog,” Boosie Badazz remarked during the conversation. “I’m finna sell half of my independent catalog, most of the stuff that I own. I probably got 22 albums that’s mine. So I think I’m finna do a ten-album deal. That’s my catalog, you know, go get about 10, 15, 20 million right quick, easy. And you get it back in 20 years, you know. That’s when your kids need it: when they’re grown.” Considering his beef with Yung Bleu, we know that some of his publishing deals haven’t always worked out in his favor.

Boosie Badazz Reveals Intentions To Sell Part Of His Catalog

With that in mind, it’s heartening to hear that there’s a chance this catalog could set Boosie’s family up for further success and resources. After all, especially in the streaming age, there are so many moving pieces getting in the way of artists’ due money. It’s also worth noting that, like other deals, his discography comprises of a lot of older and more long-staying music that stood the test of time. As such, the Trill Entertainment affiliate could lay low for as long as he wants if this goes through.

Of course, we know that such an outcome isn’t likely for him. Just this year, Badazz dropped multiple projects, the latest of which was Goin Thru Some Thangs. Combined with his prolific, often comical, and sometimes volatile social media presence, we’re sure he’ll be on the radar for a while. On that note, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Boosie Badazz.

BET Auction For $3 Billion Reportedly Called Off By Paramount

One of the most significant entertainment media sales in recent years has apparently been called off. Moreover, new reports from the New York Post indicate that Paramount is no longer selling BET, which was a prospect that bolstered Black entrepreneurs, businessmen, and entertainers to take ownership of the Black-centered network. Not only that, but the cancellation of a $3 billion auction for BET was reportedly because Tyler Perry’s offer for it was too low. Many looked to him as the creative who seemed best poised to acquire the company under his leadership. However, with this new report, it seems like its future still hangs in the balance.

Furthermore, the Post‘s article cites an allegedly close source to Paramount, who said that they notified bidders of the decision on Wednesday (August 16). “We made this decision because the benefits of maintaining a majority stake in BET Media Group creates more value for Paramount than any of the proposals we received,” the source reportedly told the publication. Another bidder in this debacle was a similarly legendary executive, Byron Allen, who also had a lot of public support.

Paramount’s Canceled Auction For BET

Regardless, the report suggest that the source painted Paramount as a conglomerate that sought a sale “which could return the asset to Black ownership.” In addition, they apparently wanted a “party that could be a good partner and responsible steward of the assets and the mission.” Apparently, JPMorgan, Paramount’s sell-side bank, failed to provide financing to suitors upon the auction’s commencement, thus placing doubt in BET Group’s strength. Also, it didn’t predict BET’s earnings during the process, which caused further concern, and the source claimed that Allen offered $3 billion for it late in the game.

Meanwhile, the Post‘s report also alleged that Paramount wanted Perry to push his offer up some more. It’s important to note that he already owns a 25% stake in BET+, the media company’s streaming service. As such, it seems like it will be a little longer until we know for sure what will happen to BET, and how hopeful owners circumvent this. For more news and the latest updates on the potential sale of BET, stay up to date on HNHH.

Logic Sells His Entire Music Catalog For Eight Figures

Influence Media Partners have bought the publishing rights to Logic’s entire musical catalog, according to a press release. The Grammy-nominated artist has eight studio albums and eight mixtapes under his belt from the last 15 years. The catalog totals 185 songs, and now Influence is in control of the publishing rights in exchange for an eight-figure payout. This is not new territory for Logic, as the rapper has previously announced potentially retiring from the music industry for various reasons. And while he hasn’t called it quits, this is a step he’s taking so his music continues to leave a legacy.

“It’s important to me that the positive messages of my music continue to reach new audiences,” Logic said when talking about the deal. “I’m excited to partner with Rene and the Influence Media Partners team to make a further impact through creativity.” A big proponent of positivity, Logic recently partnered with BetterHelp, the nonprofit organization, to help get Logic fans free therapy if they’re in need. He’s also about to go on tour for his eighth studio album, College Park, with Juicy J in tow as a special guest.

Logic’s Absurd Catalog

You might think you know how prolific Logic has been over the years. But in reading the list of songs he just sold, it really is eye-popping the number of certified bangers the rapper put out into the world. The catalog includes “1-800-273-8255,” his therapy-positive anthem with Alessia Cara and Khalid, which went multi-Platinum. There’s also “EVERYDAY” featuring Marshmello and “HOMICIDE” featuring Eminem. For the fans of his earlier stuff, the catalog has “Fade Away” and “Stainless” from 2015’s The Incredible True Story and “Gang Related” and “Alright” from 2014’s Under Pressure.

With a tour, a new collaboration with Better Help, and more verses swirling around in his head, Logic is far from done with putting out content. In the last few years, he’s released his first novel, a memoir about his childhood, and plenty of social media content for the fans to get hyped about. No matter which way he goes at this point, best believe we’ll be stoked for anything the rapper decides to create.

Juice WRLD’s Ex Ally Lotti Allegedly Selling Memorabilia For $30K Online

The tragic passing of Juice WRLD continues to affect fans to this day, but they also continue celebrating his legacy with fondness. However, one large point of contention has been how much others should profit off of his name. The most recent piece of that puzzle concerns memorabilia like clothing items and accessories that he owned. At the very least, those closest to him seem to be making sure that these items are respected and authentic for fans that wish to buy them and support his loved ones. Moreover, the Chicago star’s ex-girlfriend, Ally Lotti, is reportedly selling various pieces for $30K, a price that’s apparently the total value of what she offered according to alleged DMs.

“Well I’m not truing to sell so I don’t have a price in mind,” Lotti wrote concerning Juice WRLD’s pieces according to supposed leaked screenshots of Instagram messages. “I got you on like a package deal or something but like it said this stuff is pretty priceless to me and is only going to be worth more money in the future. I would like to be walking away with like 30k honestly you know. So what’s your budget? We can figure out what we can do.”

To ensure transparency and authenticity, I have acquired this backpack with the assistance of Ally Lotti, Juice WRLD’s ex-girlfriend, who was kind enough to provide proof and direct messages regarding its ownership.”

Also, other pictures surfaced of alleged DMs of Lotti showing off other pieces like a shirt and eyewear. Cardi B Says She “Might As Well” Sell Her Car Collection

Cardi B recently took to social media, sharing a clip of herself touring her extensive car collection. She showed off a red Ferrari SUV gifted by her husband, Offset, as well as a black Maybach SUV, and more. In the clip, she says, “F***in cars, it just collects dust.” She goes on to describe her Ferrari, “I wonder if it even turns on…this gift Offset gave me, she’s pretty but I ain’t seen her in forever. I gotta bring my Maybach to New York.” The rapper continues, “Just collecting dust, we might as well just sell the f***ing cars. We might as well just sell the f***ing cars. Oh my God, look at my f***ing Maybach.”

Earlier today, it was announced by Latto that the remix of her song “Put It On Da Floor” alongside Cardi B will be released this Friday. She shared a clip on Instagram, saying she’s about to “‘Put It On Da Floor’ again.” In the video, Cardi is seen sat down with a plastic bag over her head. Latto later removes the bag, saying, “Rip her out the plastic, she’s been acting brand new.”

Cardi B also shared a post last week, honoring Takeoff amid news that his alleged murderer, Patrick Xavier Clark, was formally charged. She wrote, “What an angel god bless[ed] this Earth with.” Her post continued, “Protect your brothers and your family. I know you see the tears I know you see them looking at the sky askin why….. Cardi sued Tasha K. after she alleged online that Cardi worked as an escort prior to her successful rap career, and that the artist had contracted an STI. Ja Rule Would Sell His Catalog Under One Condition

A lot of people are selling their music catalog these days in the rap game, and some deals are absolutely massive. For example, Metro Boomin sold a portion of his work in a $70 million deal, a high bar that other artists like Future also set. However, those kinds of deals aren’t for everyone, and Ja Rule in particular has some ground rules when it comes to potentially putting his records up for sale. While speaking to Bloomberg Business, the rapper expressed that he has been considering the sale. Still, there’s an important component to where he wants that sort of money to go in the long run.

“I’ve found out recently that my catalog is very lucrative,” Ja Rule remarked. “So I’ll be looking [to sell]. I’ve really been talking about doing a reversion deal where I would probably give up half my catalog and it would revert back to my family. I think it’s kinda hard to put a number on the value. Usually, the value of the music starts to go down as the artist starts to go away. The value of the music starts to depreciate.

Ja Rule Speaks On The Possibility Of A Catalog Sale

#Rapper and media mogul Ja Rule says he’s weighing. selling his #music catalogue. He sat down with Bloomberg’s Scarlet Fu and Romaine Bostick to discuss the value of music. #musictiktok #JaRuke #rap

“So it’s kinda weird but what’s happening now is right now we get less than a fraction of a cent for a stream, but that number is going up,” he went on. “It’s going up to about 15 percent. So with that happening, I think a lot of these companies are realizing the money that’s out there.” While he didn’t bring up a specific number, Ja Rule’s catalog must be worth quite the pretty penny. After all, beyond his established hip-hop legacy, he has eight Billboard Top 10 hits, three of those being No. 1 smashes, and two No. 1 albums.

Other prominent hip-hop figures have also sold their catalog, whether from the old guard, the new, or somewhere in between. Producer Zaytoven recently did so, as well as Chuck D selling a large part of Public Enemy’s work. For those less in tune with the industry, this might seem like a bizarre and almost detrimental move. Regardless, it sometimes ends up being the best financial move for artists to keep making their money, whereas others don’t see it happening anytime soon.
