And this is why you don’t listen to The Shade Room, or any of those Instagram gossip accounts, really. I have harped on the subject of reliable sources for months and months and stuff like this is why.
During YG and Tyga’s set at Rolling Loud California this past weekend, YG brought Saweetie onstage, where they got cozy and exchanged declarations of love.
The two West Coast rappers were rumored to be dating after collaborating together on multiple songs. Then, in May 2023, they were spotted taking a romantic vacation in Cabo. Since then, they’ve been seemingly inseparable, teaming up with Tyga for the Str8 To The Club tour last autumn and collaborating again on Saweetie’s summer single “Birthday” (again with Tyga).
Saweetie has been more actively promoting her solo music this year, releasing the single “Richtivities” and collaborating with fellow Bay Area native P-Lo for the 49ers playoff anthem “Do It For The Bay.” It certainly sounds like she’s rebooting her album rollout, which could mean that her long-awaited debut project is on the way.
Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
It’s been a bumpy road to 2024 Rolling Loud California. From accusations of racist business practices to booking mishaps, the multi-day event was off to a rough start. However, since it kicked off on Thursday, March 14, everything’s been smooth sailing (not counting the Kanye West debacle).
Yesterday (March 16), Post Malone closed out the day with a head-banging set of his biggest hits. As an added bonus, Malone treated the sold-out crowd to a surprise performance of his hit song, “Congratulations,” alongside his collaborator Quavo. The former Migos member crept up onstage to deliver his verse as the audience grew hyped with the instrumental blaring overhead.
Initially released in 2016, “Congratulations” was produced by Metro Boomin and appeared on Malone’s Stoney album. Since it was shared, the record has gone on to earn diamond certification by the RIAA, selling over 14 million copies.
In 2022, during an appearance on the Full Send podcast, Metro revealed that the collaboration wasn’t actually planned but a result of a scheduling conflict.
“He called me, and so I came to the studio one day,” he said. “The same day, I was supposed to pull up on Quavo, on the same night. So, he called me while I was [working] with Post and said, ‘Where are you? What are you doing?’ So, I pulled Post to the side and said, ‘Man, you ever did a song with Quavo?’ He said, ‘Nah, but that would be dope though.’”
Years later, the song continues to rack up massive streaming numbers.
I know I said we at Uproxx do not engage in schadenfruede when I wrote about another Kanye West fail earlier this week, but the man is truly testing the limits of that policy this week.
Now, you’d think anyone who has followed the mercurial producer’s moves for the past, like, decade would understand the inherent risk involved in unskeptically engaging with anything he announces, but Roling Loud attendees were given the “Emperor’s New Clothes” treatment firsthand at his “special performance” last night in Inglewood, California.
Billed to perform a “headlining” performance ahead of the festival proper, Kanye instead pulled a Frank Ocean at Coachella, instead just sort of standing around onstage while a DJ played his last album, Vultures 1. Fans were… let’s just say “displeased.”
“I’m not gonna say the show sucked but I just thought going to a Kanye show would be different,” wrote one disgruntled fan on Twitter.
And look — I said Uproxx wouldn’t engage in any schadenfruede, but fans on Twitter certainly did. “No way Kanye just dipped after playing vultures at rolling loud,” one joked. “At this rate he gonna stop showing up at all and tell his fans to imagine him performing, they’ll be like ‘I see him.’” Again… The Emperor’s New Clothes. (They’re already doing it, btw).
Rolling Loud just scammed Everyone into thinking Kanye would do a Performance tonight! pic.twitter.com/bAx9csGbYq
The disdain for Kanye’s latest anti-performance was palpable, but something tells me folks will keep coming back for more — sunk costs and all. It definitely sucks to see a first ballot hip-hop hall-of-famer turn into …. this, but the good news is, there are plenty of other artists out there to enjoy who haven’t become Nazi apologists. Check out some more reactions below.

Rolling Loud day 1 takeaways: • No pat downs only metal detectors. • People starting mosh pits to soft songs. • Kanye stopped performing and they just played his old songs to kill time, and everyone thought he was still performing. • Every white person smelled.
I love Kanye, he is No.1 on my rappers, producers, creatives, entrepreneurs & GOATs lists, but his Rolling Loud performance should’ve been a lot more than just the usual listening parties. The last time we got a solid performance from him was at Circus Maximus in Italy. https://t.co/sHMCFHHQOC
Kanye really charged people hundreds of dollars to listen to his 4/10 album with him(he didn’t perform) and his fans are mad at rolling loud for false advertising. What a fall from grace

What Time Does Kanye West Go Onstage At Rolling Loud California 2024?
Kanye West is scheduled to perform on Thursday, March 14 (today) at 8:00 pm with Ty Dolla Sign. Obviously, take this time as more of a suggestion than a hard-and-fast rule, because Kanye himself almost certainly will, judging from past performances like his and Drake’s Free Larry Hoover show in 2022.
The weather is getting warmer and warmer and we’re just days away from the official start of spring, which means that music festival season is about to be in full swing. Rolling Loud isn’t waiting for any of that though, as its first festival of the year is set to kick off in just a few days. Rolling Loud California will take over Inglewood from March 14-17 and bring big names to its stage like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Ty Dolla Sign, Post Malone, Future, Metro Boomin, and many more.
There’s a long list of artists who will perform during Rolling Loud California’s festival which will make it a bit of a task for attendees who have multiple artists they want to see. Fear not though, as we have the official set times for all artists who are currently set to perform at Rolling Loud California. Scroll down to check out that list.

Today (March 11), Rancho Humilde CEO Jimmy Humilde revealed that its artists Natanael Cano and Junior H would no longer perform at the show as previously promoted (Cano on Friday, March 15, and Junior on Sunday, March 17). In a post shared on Humilde’s official Instagram page, the label executive accused the organizers of being racist.
“Rolling Loud canceled us last minute,” he wrote. “And what’s crazy is that the majority of ticket buyers are Raza! They f*cked with the wrong fool.”
However, in a statement shared exclusively with Rolling Stone, a representative for Rolling Loud refuted the claim. “Unfortunately, Natanael Cano and Junior H will not be performing at Rolling Loud California 2024,” the representative said. “Natanael Cano did not obtain the necessary work permits or visas to enable him to perform at the festival. Junior H will not be performing due to several breaches of contract, including the festival’s radius terms.”
This isn’t the first lineup hiccup Rolling Loud California 2024 has faced. When the event was initially unveiled, Lil Uzi Vert’s name appeared on the official flyer. Immediately after sharing the promotional graphic, Lil Uzi Vert stated that they were not performing at the festival. Shortly after, Future and Metro Boomin signed on as Sunday’s headliners.

At this point, it would be malpractice to assume everything Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021, posts online is true. Vultures 1, the first of what is expected to be a three-part joint project from Ye and Ty Dolla Sign, has been promised, then delayed several times — drawing ire from the likes of the album’s distributor and Donna Summer’s estate in the process.
However, there was an exception to the rule this morning (February 15). Ye posted an updated Rolling Loud California 2024 lineup poster with ¥$ (Ye and Ty Dolla’s name as a duo, apparently) now listed as the top headliner. “VULTURES COMING TO ROLLING LOUD,” Ye captioned the post.
Within minutes, Rolling Loud confirmed Ye’s post on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “YE leaked it before us [three fire emojis].” Rolling Loud also posted the updated 2024 lineup on Instagram alongside the caption, “VULTURES HEADLINING NEW THURSDAY NIGHT @kanyewest @tydollasign [bald eagle emoji, fire emoji]. All three day pass holders will be automatically upgraded to a 4 day pass. All single day purchasers will receive an email tomorrow with a special link to upgrade to a 4 day pass! New purchasers must purchase 3 day pass to receive access to Thursday night.”
The annual festival will be staged from Thursday, March 14, to Sunday, March 17, at Hollywood Park Grounds in Inglewood, California. Find more information here.
