“Issues With Jesus”

Kanye West has previously openly embraced Christianity including in a previous interview with Big Boy. This has been evident in his music for decades. However, following the release of Vultures 1, Ye expressed conflicting sentiments. He mentioned having “issues with Jesus,” and asserted that the act of prayer is a significant source of contention for him.

“You know, I have my issues with Jesus. There’s a lot of stuff I went through that I prayed and I ain’t see Jesus show up… We’re so in this mentality that that’s all that needs to happen but we ain’t praying our way out of prison; we ain’t praying our way out the abortion clinics. We ain’t praying our way to get our land back that was always ours after gentrification after the Harlem Renaissance and Black Wall Street was burned to the ground. Them prayers ain’t working.”

Industry Blackball

During his interview with Big Boy, Kanye brought up one of his most controversial moments — the 2009 VMAs. Ye took this moment to speak about the challenges he and Ty faced while creating this new album. Specifically, he mentioned reaching out to a select few individuals to inquire whether Universal Music Group was intentionally hindering the chart success of his music because of the incident. He shared his belief there has since been a conspiracy to stunt his commercial growth.

“When it went number one, I called up some people I know like ‘You think Universal was capping my albums ever since the Taylor Swift moment?’” he said. “‘And no one could deny that was happening. Just limit him. Turn it down, turn that boy down.’” Kanye also listed some of his most iconic records, expressing to Big Boy that their moderate success was quite a shock.  “‘All Of The Lights’ is like number 28. ‘All Of The Lights?’ ‘Runaway,’ you know, ‘N***as in Paris’ was not a number one record.”

Alleged Threats On Ye’s Life

Kanye West has been embroiled in several controversies over the years that have become worse in recent times. The rapper has also received backlash from both the Black and Jewish communities. This scrutiny arises from various actions and behaviors, including his endorsement of former president Donald Trump and instances of antisemitic sentiments. Ye disclosed that he has been subjected to numerous threats and expressed surprise at his continued survival. “My life has been threatened,” he stated. “I wake up every day just surprised to be alive because of how many threats I’ve received. From political to Twitter commentary, to all that.”

Ty Prevents Vultures 1 From Getting The Donda Treatment

Speaking of making headlines for various controversies, Ye also lost several friends. Ty Dolla Sign, however, has long since stood by him. He spoke up and explained that despite everything that was going on with Ye, he didn’t hesitate to collaborate with him on Vultures 1. He also asserted his belief that Ye would regain public favor in due time.

More surprisingly, though, was Ty Dolla $ign’s ability to push back against some of Ye’s suggestions. During the conversation, Ye revealed that he attempted to make Vultures 1 entirely clean, similar to Donda. However, Ty Dolla $ign shut down that idea quickly.

Pioneering Two Decades Of Music

In one clip that undoubtedly shook up the internet, Ye told Big Boy that he invented every genre of music in the past 20 years. “I invented every style of music of the past 20 years, I created the genre, I created The Weeknd genre, Trav, Drake… Everybody,” he declared. “I’m gonna go ahead and say, with all love, Future and Thug also. Because the autotune album, 808s, if you think about it. Everybody think about Trav, Weeknd, and Drake, but no one thinks about Future and Thug also. Autotune album. Now everyone, they added what it was to it. But here’s a new genre. It’s called the ‘making your own money’ genre.” The claim ultimately had people talking including Boosie Badazz.

What’s Next?

The Vultures 1 duo revealed that the album was the first of a trilogy collaboration between Ye and Ty Dolla Sign. Vultures 2 is set to be released in May, and Vultures 3 will follow sometime this year. Ty also hinted that the upcoming albums will have a different sound. Moreover, he encouraged fellow artists to be original with their work.

“That’s what the goal is for Vultures 2 and Vultures 3, always elevating,” Ty said. “Like if you ask me the question- what I think about music, I feel like I don’t wanna diss anybody, but at the same time, you n***as gotta get better. People always copy the next shit… Like 10 songs are the same thing of each different type of beat.”

Suge Knight’s Son Weighs In On His Dad’s Podcast: “He’s Telling The Truth”

Last month, it was announced that Suge Knight would be starting a new podcast from prison, Collect Call With Suge Knight. The infamous music executive partnered with The Source co-founder and Breakbeat Media CEO Dave Mays to make the podcast come to life. While the podcast is only on its third episode, he’s already made some wild revelations.

Recently, for example, he alleged that Jewell “killed a man” ahead of her 2022 passing. According to him, he had to pay big money to keep her out of prison. He also alleged that Akon raped a 13-year-old girl, prompting the Senegalese-American performer to threaten to take legal action. While clearly not everybody’s glad that Knight now has a platform to get things off of his chest on, his son certainly is. Suge Jacob Knight recently chatted with The Sun about his dad’s new podcast, claiming that his father is doing nothing but telling the truth.

“I think he just finally is using his platform correctly the best of his advantage, because, you know he’s still a CEO, still a boss, and you know the fans still want Suge,” Suge J. explained. “A lot of people spoke about him when he didn’t have a chance to platform. He created his own platform. He’s the first to do it. And now people are hating he’s telling the truth. It’s the way.”

Suge J. went on to describe how countless others had the opportunity to speak on his father. “These people have like 10 years of talking, about 15 years talking about lies, that’s what it is. So now it’s what goes around comes around,” he said. “He’s a huge guy. Sometimes some of the people that are talking about him are not even on the same level, you know. That’s why it is not even worth mentioning some of these guys because the way that they got into the door is talking about him.” What do you think of Suge Jacob Knight’s take on his dad’s podcast? Scooter Braun: Sources Say Music Exec Is “Imploding,” Unsavoury Revelations Expected To Come

The headlines surrounding Scooter Braun’s name over the past few days have been nothing short of confusing. It was initially reported that he and longtime client Justin Bieber will be parting ways, leaving many music lovers shocked. However, shortly after that gossip hit the internet, sources confirmed that the pair plan to resume working together in the future. While that provided a sigh of relief to some, Variety dropped a report on Tuesday (August 22) with sources claiming that Braun will be walking away from the world of artist management.

Aside from the Bieber rumour, Demi Lovato has also amicably parted ways with SB Projects, and word has it that Ariana Grande is looking elsewhere too. This would mark the second time that she and Braun have gone their separate ways, though sources close to the industry exec are strenuously denying that update. It’s become increasingly hard to get any straight answers regarding the situation, though Variety‘s insiders are saying that Scooter will be focusing more on his role as the CEO of HYBE America, and less on the day-to-day management of artists.

Is Scooter Braun’s Career as We Know It Over?

“People are spreading rumours based on what they know, but they are off. Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like,” one person told the outlet. However, there are still some insisting that this is the end of an era for Braun. “He’s imploding,” another source stated. “It’s a different world since the pandemic. You just can’t be an asshole like that anymore.”

While word of Scooter Braun’s alleged implosion continues to circulate through the headlines, it’s worth noting that it was only a few months ago that he struck up a $300M deal with Quality Control heads Coach K, and P. At the time, the executive seemed confident in the future of HYBE, as well as his other endeavours. Kanye West BBC Documentary Promises “Revelations” About Recent Events

The upcoming BBC documentary on Kanye West, We Need To Talk About Kanye, will reportedly do more than just sum up the artist’s recent controversies and public image. Moreover, the film’s producer Jeremy Lee recently spoke to Variety and detailed what it will consist of. While we already knew it would chronicle Ye’s antisemitic tirades and 2024 presidential election, it will apparently divulge much more information. Of course, it’s likely that it will take more steps to provide the truth rather than add context to fluff up or justify his actions. However, given what little we know of the project so far, anything could happen.

“Underpinned with world-class journalism and unique access to members of Ye’s inner circle, this is a revelation-driven film which sheds new light on recent events,” Lee stated. Also, he confirmed that Kanye West knows of the documentary, but will not be involved in any way. “Ye’s recent behavior has prompted both condemnation and a re-evaluation of his place in popular culture. With recent events as a starting point, the documentary and accompanying eight-part podcast series [The Kanye Story] explore Ye’s two decades in the public eye amid a rumored YE2024 election campaign.” Said election campaign has reportedly ended.

Kanye West BBC Documentary Will Reportedly Reveal A Lot About The Artist

Furthermore, Variety also reported that BBC sold the doc to various countries after ordering it in February. Networks in Finland, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark already secured rights to the project. Moreover, investigative journalist Mobeen Azhar took the helm in the movie, who also explored Britney Spears’ conservatorship in the film The Battle For Britney. In addition, The Kanye Story will further explore Kanye West’s career with help from top music industry executives. As such, this documentary reportedly aims to shed more light and context into what Ye’s recent questionable behavior means for the past, present, and future of his career.

Meanwhile, this film’s focus on Kanye West’s 2024 presidential campaign recently took a turn. “Right now, I am living my life,” he allegedly told a documentary producer he hired, according to a Daily Beast report. “Like I’m concentrating on the school, The Donda Academy, and my new wife, and my kids, and that’s it. I just want to be left alone.” Regardless, We Need To Talk About Kanye shaped up to be a much more informative affair with this Variety report.
