Yung Miami Admits Her Label Told Her She Hasn’t Grown As An Artist

Yesterday, Yung Miami gave her fans what they had all been waiting for, a new episode of Caresha Please. The mogul switched things up for the season two premiere, however, as she was the interviewee. Her longtime friend Saucy Santana asked her various pressing questions about her career, former relationship with Diddy, and much more.

Of course, at one point in the episode, he also asked her where she currently stands with the other half of City Girls JT. According to her, she’ll always see the “Okay” performer as family, but things simply weren’t meshing anymore in the studio. Yung Miami has instead released a couple of solo singles in recent months, but supporters have been eager to hear more. She says that while she’s submitted new material to Quality Control, it hasn’t come out because the label feels like there’s been a lack of growth.

Yung Miami Reveals Why She Hasn’t Released More Solo Music

“When I try to turn my music in it’s just like, ‘We don’t see no growth in your music.’ Or, you know, ‘You’re not elevating,’” she explained. Fortunately, Yung Miami’s self-awareness indicates that she’s taking steps in the right direction, which could result in new music being released sooner rather than later. She even shared that she has a single on the way, which may be the one she teased late last month.

The preview of the track earned mixed reactions from social media users. She defended herself amid the criticism, making it clear that she stands by the upcoming single. “With me is where y’all draw the line??? LOL ok,” she wrote on X. What do you think of Yung Miami’s new episode of Caresha Please? What about her revealing that QC claimed to see a lack of growth in her music? Bankroll Freddie Convicted In Drug Case: What We Know

Bankroll Freddie is a Quality Control signee with multiple hit records, including “Drip Like Dis,” “Pop It,” and “Pandemic Boys.” Unfortunately, this past weekend, Freddie was in the news for something other than his music. According to Arkansas Online, Bankroll Freddie has been found guilty of multiple crimes. Some convictions could carry a prison sentence which sees the Arkansas rapper locked up for a lengthy period of time. For now, Bankroll Freddie’s sentencing status is not confirmed. However, it looks like the DOJ reportedly plans to hem the rapper up with multiple gang convictions. This situation has been likened to the legal struggles of many other prominent rappers such as Young Thug, who was locked up in 2022 on RICO charges in the state of Georgia.

The ruling, which was passed down by the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Arkansas, stems from a massive 2022 arrest. The arrest saw Freddie and several others arraigned on federal gang and drug charges. For now, let’s dive into this story and lay out the confirmed details as they currently stand. Here’s everything we know about Bankroll Freddie’s convictions and sentencing so far.

The 2022 Bust Hemmed Up Dozens Of People

The federal investigation that saw Bankroll Freddie get convicted was responsible for over 34 initial arrests. Freddie’s father was among those arraigned and tried by the DOJ following the October 2022 sweep. The charges that stemmed from this investigation include a 61-count indictment against an alleged gang titled the Every Body Killas. Members of the so-called Loady Murder Mobb were reportedly also arrested alongside those affiliated with the EBK Gang. Per a filing with the U.S. District Court, the DOJ alleged that these apparent gangs “voluntarily and intentionally conspired” to distribute a wide array of illicit substances, including crack, cocaine, meth, and weed, as a means of developing an undercurrent of cash to fund additional organized criminal activity.

Bankroll Freddie was reportedly involved with the EBK Gang. As part of his alleged gang involvement, Freddie is accused of moving mass quantities of drugs across several counties in Arkansas and Texas. As the charges extend beyond state lines, federal investigators have gotten involved, making these charges extremely serious. Citing an investigation from March 2021 through October 2022, officers reportedly seized hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cash, jewelry, and other holdings as evidence.

Freddie Did Manage To Beat Some Of The Charges

Despite Bankroll Freddie’s unfortunate convictions, he was reportedly able to escape some of the most serious charges he was tried on. Per a DOJ ruling, Freddie has been convicted of one count of possession and distribution of a controlled substance, one count of marijuana possession and distribution, one count of firearm possession in furtherance of drug trafficking, and a single count of using a communications facility in the furtherance of drug trafficking crimes. These charges were officially handed down just this past week.

Additional charges were dismissed, including one extremely serious count of possession of a machine gun. Such a conviction would carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison. Despite getting off on this and other charges, Bankroll Freddie’s future is quite uncertain, as the 4 counts he was convicted on are nothing to scoff at. Additional information regarding Freddie’s sentencing is expected to be revealed to the public as this story develops.

When Will Freddie Drop New Music?

Despite Bankroll Freddie’s position at Quality Control, the rapper has not released any new music since his arrest, save for a single titled “Ova’s.” “Ova’s” was released to DSPs on November 15, 2022, and was probably already in the process of clearing when the rapper was arrested. It seems that Freddie has been prudently choosing not to release any music as his legal drama unfolds. This is perhaps due to the recent scrutiny rappers are facing, which sees lyrics presented as evidence of actual crimes.

His last full project, From Rap To Trap 2, dropped in July 2022. Since then, Freddie’s fanbase has waned, dropping to only 237K monthly listeners on Spotify. For the time being, there’s no way to know what will happen to Bankroll Freddie, or when we’ll hear new music, though fans are surely hoping that the rapper has continued to write and record during the past 2 years.

Icewear Vezzo Essentials: 5 Songs You Need To Stream Right Now

Icewear Vezzo is a certified hitmaker with a truckload of impressive songs under his belt. With groundwork going as far back as the late ‘10s, he’s part of the major wave of Detroit Hip Hop artists bringing Michigan to the charts. From his debut mixtape, The Clarity, until now, he has managed to carve a niche for his flows and has collaborated with several notable names. Moreover, he brings the heat every time with gritty, aggressive Michigan-style lyrics, coupled with a fast tempo and punchy baseline.

Icewear Vezzo is signed to Atlanta’s Quality Control Music label. As a result, this has helped him propel deeper into the mainstream. Nonetheless, he has continued to maintain his core, dedicated fanbase. Want to get a closer look at Icewear Vezzo’s songs you must add to your playlist? Then the following list is the way to go.

“Champions” With Babyface Ray

One of the smoothest songs of 2019, Icewear Vezzo and Babyface Ray engage in a friendly rivalry on “Champions.” Despite their collaboration, there’s a subtle competition as they exchange verses, almost in a bid to outshine the other. While Babyface Ray’s lines are somewhat arrogant, he remains casual and confident. Icewear Vezzo, on the other hand, brings vigor to the battle, issuing precise threats, and once again referencing his heavy dollar stash. The dynamic exchange in their verses showcases a playful competition, adding a lively touch to their musical collaboration.

4. “Sippin” With Babyface Ray

“Sippin” is definitely one of the songs to better understand Icewear Vezzo and growing up in the Michigan area. In the song, he takes a deep look into his earlier years, referencing the roles he had to play over a smooth Three 6 Mafia sample. Also featuring Babyface Ray, the selling point of this song is the lyricism. It is reflective, yet deliberate. Furthermore, in his reflections, he paints a vivid picture of his upbringing in Section 8 housing. By emphasizing how his surroundings played a role in shaping the person he is now, Icewear Vezzo showcases vulnerability, not often seen in his other songs.

3. “Mudd Baby”

In “Mudd Baby,” Icewear Vezzo opens up about the complexities of street life and the high-stakes hustle lifestyle he leads. He also reserves a few choice words for “plagiarists”– his term for the disloyal, and those who may want to question his authenticity. The confident lyrics are built on a pumped-up yet simple old-school beat, sure to get anyone up and ready to go. “Mudd Baby” has since garnered over 11 million streams on Spotify, making it one of Icewear Vezzo’s most popular songs to date.

2. “Know The Difference” ft. Lil Baby

Want to catch Icewear Vezzo go bar-for-bar with one of the biggest names in contemporary Hip Hop? Check out “Know The Difference,” featuring none other than Lil Baby. While Baby kicks things off the song with an impressive performance, Icewear Vezzo switches up the entire flow of the song. He touches on several topics across the song: his relationships, trust, loyalty, and hard work. With 17 million Spotify streams and over 9 million Youtube views, “Know the Difference” is an Icewear Vezzo essential.

 1. “Up The Sco’” ft. Lil Durk

“Up The Sco’” is one of the songs that give you a glimpse into the life of Icewear Vezzo. The track also features Chicago native, Lil Durk, offering a combination of the aesthetics of both areas.  Icewear Vezzo gets vulnerable on this track, and it adds to the overall appeal of the song. He starts by telling the story of his rise to fame, his humble roots, and his determination to surpass his rivals. Although he’s happier now, he’s still hustling and struggling in his way.

Icewear Vezzo also raps about his struggle with addiction to lean and molly in the song. He then pays tribute to the late rapper Speaker Knockerz, who died under the influence. Altogether, “Up The Sco’” is the most commercially successful of Icewear Vezzo’s songs, and for good reason. It currently has about 29 million views on YouTube and is also one of his most streamed songs on Apple Music and Spotify.

Coach K & P Tell Lil Yachty It Took “Years” For Quality Control To Become Profitable

Pierre ‘P’ Thomas and Kevin ‘Coach K’ Lee say that it took years before their iconic music label, Quality Control, became profitable. They recalled the journey during a recent interview with Lil Yachty for his A Safe Place podcast.

They began by admitting it took over five years for them to get back in the green after starting the company. “When you in a place of independence, and you don’t have budgets, or you don’t have capital that you can use for these artists, it’s like, you might go into the black,” Coach K explained to Yachty. “I remember there was times me and P was like down almost to zero, but we had a record going. So you know, we had to promote. We had to double down. If we double down, that’d take us back to zero. It’s ebbs and flows. It’s peaks and valleys.”

Lil Yachty Opens Up On First Signing To Quality Control, Feeling Competitive With Migos

Lil Yachty doesn’t face some of the same standards and expectations as other rappers. He’s always positioned himself as an outside-the-box artist and never taken himself too seriously. But even Yachty faced some old-school hip-hop competitive rivalries when he first joined Quality Control Music. During a recent appearance on the Safe Space podcast, Yachty spoke on his early days with the label including a friendly beef that developed between him and Migos.

Quavo used to be so mean to me! It became like a friendly beef. It was like this thing of battling with me against all three Migos when it came to cars, when it came to jewelry, when it came to women, when it came to clothes, everything. Quavo got a new chain, I had to get a new chain. Offset got a new chain, I get a new chain. Takeoff get a new watch, I would go and get a new watch, Yachty revealed in the interview. He also revealed how much he felt like an outsider at first. “I used to always feel like everyone was trying to little bro me. At first, they thought I was weird as sh*t. They was like, ‘This n*gga is weird as f*ck.’” Check out the entire interview below.

Lil Yachty’s Friendly Beef With Migos

Earlier this year, Lil Yachty shocked rap fans online with his new album Let’s Start Here. The project was an experiment into psychedelic rock that pulled heavy inspiration from some of the greats of the genre. While fans were divided on the project it received quite a bit of praise from critics almost across the board. After returning to rap for a series of singles released earlier this year, Yachty recently dove back into the world of rock with his song “The Paradigm” for the new Netflix film Leave The World Behind.

But for rap fans, Yachty was sure to let them know he had more conventional hip-hop material on the way soon. He shared two snippets of unreleased music last month that kept fans in anticipation for when his next rap project drops. What do you think of Lil Yachty’s new revelations about his early days at Quality Control? Let us know in the comment section below.
