Supreme Court Strikes Down Student Loan Forgiveness, Joe Biden Responds

The Supreme Court has struck down President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan with a 6-3 vote. The conservation majority ruled “federal law does not authorize the program to wipe out nearly half-a-trillion dollars in debt.” The loan forgiveness plan would have canceled up to $20,000 in loans for Pell Grant recipients and $10,000 for other borrowers whose individual income is less than $125,000.

In response to the decision, Biden has vowed that “this fight is not over” and is working on other means of providing debt relief. The President elaborated on the situation in a statement on Friday.

“I believe that the Court’s decision to strike down our student debt relief plan is wrong,” Biden said in a statement. “But I will stop at nothing to find other ways to deliver relief to hard-working middle-class families. My Administration will continue to work to bring the promise of higher education to every American.”

“The hypocrisy of Republican elected officials is stunning. They had no problem with billions in pandemic-related loans to businesses – including hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars for their own businesses. And those loans were forgiven,” he said. “But when it came to providing relief to millions of hard-working Americans, they did everything in their power to stop it.”

Striking down student loan forgiveness is just the latest of a series of controversial decisions by the Supreme Court. They also struck down affirmative action programs in college admissions and ruled that businesses can refuse service to LGBTQ+ customers on the basis of religious beliefs. Activist Cornel West has entered the 2024 presidential race. In a Twitter announcement, West announced that he would be a candidate representing the People’s Party.

“I have decided to run for truth and justice, which takes the form of running for president of the United States as a candidate for the People’s Party,” West said. “I enter for the quest for truth. I enter for the quest of justice. And the presidency is just one vehicle we pursue that truth and justice.”

West highlights his platform will promote the quality of life of voters as opposed to the direction of political parties.

“Neither political party wants to tell the truth about Wall Street, about Ukraine, about the Pentagon, about big tech,” West said. “Do we have what it takes? We shall see.”

Lupe Fiasco endorsed Dr. Cornel West for president in the 2024 election. He made the announcement on social media, Monday. West confirmed that he will be running as a candidate for the People’s Party earlier in the day.

“Cornel West For President,” he wrote. “This will be the first and last time I vote. [sunglasses emoji] @CornelWest 2024.” Fans were supportive of Fiasco’s tweet. One replied: “I was just on the phone today talking about politics with my mom. I hope it works out! I’ll vote for him too.” Another wrote: “If this is the case, I’ll do the same.”

And the presidency is just one vehicle to pursue that truth and justice — what I’ve been trying to do all of my life.” West has been known for his work as a political activist, social critic, and author for years. He’s penned several popular works including Race Matters (1993) and Democracy Matters (2004).

President Joe Biden is someone who has experienced massive fluctuations in his approval rating. From the withdrawal from Afghanistan to gas prices, there have been plenty of headlines throughout his time in office. However, he certainly hasn’t had a turbulent tenure like the likes of Donald Trump. Regardless, Biden has a low approval rating, and it has led to speculation over whether or not he would run again for president in 2024. Overall, there are plenty of Democrats who would love to be in his position.

Although, it seems like President Joe Biden doesn’t care about the calls for him to step aside. We know this because today, Biden announced his re-election campaign. Yes, that’s correct. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be looking to maintain their spot in the Oval Office come January of 2025. In order to launch this new campaign, Biden offered a video on his Twitter account. Within this video, he explained his vision for America, while also taking aim at “MAGA Extremists.”

Joe Biden Has A Message For His Constituents

“Freedom. Personal freedom is fundamental to who we are as Americans. There’s nothing more important. Nothing more sacred,” Joe Biden said in the video. “Around the country, MAGA extremists are lining up to take those bedrock freedoms away.” With abortion rights and voting rights being taken away from the working class, Joe Biden is looking to make a case for the Democratic vision. Although, he will be facing stiff competition in the general election as it is looking likely that he will have a rematch against Donald Trump.

With Ron DeSantis plummeting in the polls, Trump looks like the likely Republican nominee. Overall, the general population has little interest in this sort of rematch. However, they may not have a choice. Either way, the next year and a half of political theatre is going to be exciting to watch. Kanye West Not Running For President

Kanye West is reportedly no longer running for President of the United States in the 2024 election, according to the Daily Beast. According to this report, the Chicago rapper will instead focus on his family and his private Christian school Donda Academy. Moreover, this news came specifically from Adam Camacho, a documentary producer that Kanye hired in November of last year. He spoke of originally joining his team to make a movie for Ye, but also said that communication with the rapper fizzled out after a contract extension. However, once Camacho reached out to him again, he reportedly told him of another direction

“Right now, I am living my life,” Kanye West allegedly told Camacho, based on the latter’s conversation with the Beast. “Like I’m concentrating on the school, The Donda Academy, and my new wife, and my kids, and that’s it. I just want to be left alone.” Another anonymous employee of the Yeezy boss backed up these claims. “His interests are focused on his children, family, and creative endeavors… Anyone that is representing Ye in any political capacity is a charlatan. There is no political shop.“

Unfortunately for Kanye West, his focus on Donda Academy is not as benevolent or unprompted as it may seem. Recently, two former teachers sued the 45-year-old for a slew of policies, including allegedly forcing kids to eat sushi every day and not allowing outside food. However, the charges also brought up much more serious charges, such as racial discrimination in hiring staff and wrongful termination.

“Ye West, I am so thankful for the opportunity to be at your school,” teacher Cecilia Hailey, one of the plaintiffs, expressed. “But things are not going the way they should, academically, socially or spiritually,” Hailey stated. “And you need to back down and try again with people who know what they’re doing, who can execute a vision, who can help you understand that we don’t know anything about producing albums, but we know how to educate. These children’s lives are in your hands and this vision, especially if you’re trying to carry out the vision of your mother, is just not working right now.” Even though he won’t run for President, the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” artist still has a lot on his plate to make up for after a few months of intense controversy. Jill Biden just gave a strong hint that husband Joe plans to run for a second term as President. Moreover, she recently spoke to AP News about the prospect, although she didn’t necessarily make the announcement for him. Instead, the First Lady spoke on how the 46th President still has work to be done in the White House. As such, she suggested that it’s only a matter of time and place in relation to the announcement of his next step. While his presidency has by no means been perfect or beloved, his reelection could result in a long-lasting win for Democrats.

“Is there any reason for any of us to think that he is not running again?” the interviewer asked Jill. “We’ve heard him say several time that it is his intention.” Then, his wife had a pretty interesting answer. “Are you not believing this, darling?” she replied while laughing along with the interviewer. “I mean, how many times does he have to say it till you believe it? No, he says he’s not done. He’s not finished what he’s started, and that’s what’s important. I think- look at all that Joe has done, has accomplished.”

In addition, Jill said there’s nothing to do besides picking the right time and place to announce the reelection campaign. However, the President will face an increasingly polarized nation and will deal with criticisms and controversies surrounding his first term. More Classified Documents Discovered At Joe Biden’s Home

President Biden stored more classified documents than we previously thought. According to White House attorney Richard Sauber, authorities unearthed five more items following recent discoveries since November of last year. Moreover, Sauber found the documents while he handed over one of the discovered items to the Department of Justice.

Furthermore, this marks the fourth time Biden’s secret docs came to life, which stem from his days under President Obama. First, during November, authorities found some in his personal office in D.C., and additional items in his Delaware home’s garage in December. Meanwhile, an extra search just a couple of days ago resulted in another unearthed document.

While the first discoveries could’ve been anything, the fourth “bust” started to cause some significant concern. According to TMZ, the DoJ has appointed a special counsel to discuss these documents and their implications. Even though the White House didn’t provide the most clear answer, they maintained that the documents were misplaced with no deeper intent.

“He was surprised that the records were found,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre when asked about them. “He does not know what’s in them. That has not changed.”

Meanwhile, the current Commander-in-Chief has addressed some documents, but not all the discoveries. Moreover, many criticized his administration for not bringing news of these discoveries to light when they were immediately conducted. In fact, the first “bust” occurred before the midterm elections in 2022. However, his legal team stood by their actions and said they were balancing transparency with the integrity of a DoJ probe. They were already looking into the files before they instated this week’s special counsel.

As representatives and Joe Biden himself have said, the nature, content, or motive of storage of these documents is unknown as of writing this article. Given their classified nature, authorities called on the DoJ and National Archives officials to retrieve each batch of items.

Also, these developments have angered Republicans, who see parallels between Biden’s secret stashes and former President Trump’s mishandling of documents. While many are distinguishing Biden’s apparent honest mistake from Trump’s deliberate obfuscation, the difference is harder to identify with each new batch found. Still, Trump has bigger legal fish to fry at the moment, and a whole lot of taxes to pay.

Pusha T Says He’s No Longer With Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music

Pusha T distanced himself from Kanye West during an interview with XXL published on Monday morning. The It’s Almost Dry rapper explained that he’s no longer affiliated with G.O.O.D. Music, but remains in a 50/50 deal with Def Jam.

“He’s not speaking to me now,” Push began, before adding, “If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down. And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it. I heard about this new stuff [on InfoWars]. I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it.”

Push previously served as the president of G.O.O.D. Music. As for the last time he spoke with West, Push says that he was still on tour. “

“I just expressed myself,” he recalled. “I express myself to him a lot. He expressed his thoughts to me. And he got off the phone saying, ‘Thank you. I know you don’t agree with me, but you never kill me in the public. And some people can’t wait to do that.’”

Push further added that expressing himself to Ye is nothing new: “I never had a filter with him. I’ve always spoke my mind. People gotta remember, too. This isn’t new for me, when it comes to disagreeing with him politically and things like that.”

Kanye West has been coming under fire in recent months for making various antisemitic comments, which include expressing support for Adolf Hitler. Pusha also condemned Ye’s appearance on Alex Jones’ InfoWars podcast.
