Father Of Alleged PnB Rock Shooter Sentenced To 31 Years To Life In Prison

The murder of PnB Rock shocked the music world in 2022. The rapper was shot in a South Los Angeles restaurant when an attempted robbery turned fatal. It’s been a lengthy process to bring the responsible parties to justice, but it appears as though it finally happened on September 23. Freddie Lee Trone, the father of PnB Rock’s alleged killer, was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison. Trone’s son was deemed unfit to stand trial, so he bore the brunt of the legal punishment on Monday afternoon.

This is not an instance of a father taking the fall for his son, however. Freddie Lee Trone is believed to be the mastermind behind PnB Rock’s death. According to ABC 7, Trone was the one who ordered the hit on the rapper. Trone’s son was, consequently, deemed unfit to stand trial, as he merely following his father’s orders. The second defendant in the PnB Rock murder case, Tremont Jones, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. PnB Rock’s mother, Deannea Allen, made a statement in court following Trone’s sentencing. She voiced what many people following the case felt, with regards to putting one’s own child in harm’s way for monetary gain.

PnB Rock’s Mother Addressed Trone In Court

“As a parent, I do not understand,” Allen said directly to Trone. “I’ve been trying these two whole years – I do not understand how a parent could directly put their child in danger.” She also noted the damage that Freddie Lee Trone’s actions have had on everybody around him. “That one action had a ripple effect, and it has ruined many lives,” Allen added. The most sobering section of her statement, however, came when she voiced sympathy for the man who shot her son. She made it clear that she felt bad for Trone’s child, given the negative influence he was forced to live under.

“I’ve watched your son’s life unfold. He has had a horrible life,” Allen asserted. I shouldn’t feel sorry for this young man, but I do. Just as a parent. I just want you to put yourself in my shoes and our family’s shoes.” Trone was ultimately found guilty of felony murder, as well as two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy. The second defendant, Jones, was found guilty of two counts of robbery.

After a brief jury deliberation, Freddie Trone was found guilty of murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy. Tremont Jones was found guilty of robbery and conspiracy. The verdict was reported by Rolling Stone journalist Nancy Dillon. Trone’s defense argued that he had no part in planning or executing the robbery. They claimed he only became involved after the fact. However, the jury was unconvinced, resulting in Trone’s conviction on all counts.

Details Of The Crime

The prosecution presented evidence that Trone and his 17-year-old son, who was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial, were tipped off by Tremont Jones about PnB Rock’s presence at the restaurant. According to the State, Trone instructed his son to rob the rapper. The prosecutors alleged that this led to the tragic shooting and robbery of PnB Rock in front of his fiancée, Stephanie Sibounheuang, and other diners. The defense’s claims that Trone was not involved were ultimately rejected by the jury.

Reactions From PnB Rock’s Family

Following the verdict, PnB Rock’s mother, Deannea Allen, expressed her elation and relief. Allen has been a consistent presence throughout the trial, seeking justice for her son. She told Rolling Stone, “I’m here to get justice. I want justice. This was my son, my child. I want the jury to know he has a family who loves him and wants to support him.”

Emotional Testimonies & Courtroom Revelations

During the trial, PnB Rock’s mother averted her eyes and wiped away tears as a prosecutor displayed an autopsy photo of her son. “I wasn’t prepared for those pictures. It’s very devastating. I never wanted to see those pictures,” Deannea Allen said after the court session. Allen learned about the trial’s start from social media and traveled from Philadelphia to attend in person.

Stephanie Sibounheuang’s testimony was a critical moment in the trial as she recounted how the rapper saved her life. She described the gunman’s demand for their jewelry and the subsequent shooting. Moreover, Sibounheuang testified that the shooter threatened to execute her if PnB Rock did not comply. Her vivid recount of the incident highlighted the terror of that day, along with PnB’s heroism to protect her.

Prosecution’s Argument & Defense’s Claims

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Timothy Richardson argued that Freddie Trone knew his son was “impulsive” and “dangerous,” yet still sent him to rob the rapper with a loaded semi-automatic firearm. In response, Trone’s defense lawyer, Winston McKesson, said that Trone was not the getaway driver and had no involvement in the robbery. Trone testified that he left the parking lot before the incident and that a different driver brought his son back to the restaurant. The defense also claimed that the object handed to Trone by Jones was a bag of marijuana, not a gun, as the prosecution alleged.

Sentencing & Further Legal Actions

Freddie Trone and Tremont Jones will be sentenced at a later date, with the legal system now focusing on the appropriate punishments for their crimes. Additionally, Trone’s wife and a reported mistress were charged as accessories after the fact, having pleaded no contest before the trial began. The case continues to resonate with fans and the music community, as justice for PnB Rock is finally served.

The juvenile court judge cited the reason for this decision stems from the lack of mental capacity to follow a criminal proceeding. PnB Rock Murder Trial Officially Gets Underway: Details

Almost two years ago (September 12), the hip-hop world tragically lost Philadelphia multi-hyphenate, PnB Rock. The then 30-year-old hitmaker was fatally shot at the Roscoe’s Chicken ‘N Waffles location in South Los Angeles. He was one of the hottest rapping/singing talents on the market toward the end of the 2010’s decade. Over at HNHH we continue to send our thoughts to his loved ones, especially today. The reason for that is because the murder trial for PnB Rock has officially begun, according to XXL. If you remember, three suspects were arrested following the unthinkable crime. Those included the 17-year-old alleged shooter, his father, Freddie Trone, and stepmother Shauntel Trone.

The trial’s opening statements were delivered by Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, Timothy Richardson. What we know is that the jury consists of four women and eight men. Perhaps the biggest piece of information from what Richardson said actually happened just days before the murder trial. That is the fact that prosecution was going to show surveillance footage proving Freddie Tone instructed his son to allegedly walk into the restaurant to shoot and rob PnB Rock. Unsurprisingly, Freddie Tone’s lawyer, Winston McKesson, is refuting this claim stating that there is a lot of “guesswork” on the part of the State. “My client, Freddie Trone, did not pull the trigger. He was not inside the restaurant at the time. This charge of murder is the most serious charge. We have to have evidence to support it”.

PnB Rock’s Murder Happened Nearly Two Years Ago

Later, McKesson added, “You will hear no evidence that he planned this with his son. That he instructed his son to do this, or he egged him on. They will have evidence that my client did help his son cover this up. We’re not disputing that. What we’re saying is the gunman acted alone”. Mr. Trone pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, two counts of robbery, and a count of conspiracy to commit a felony. Additionally, there is defense representing a man named Tremont Jones. Jones is pleading not guilty after receiving charges with two counts of robbery, conspiracy to rob the rapper and illegally possessing a firearm as a felon. Furthermore, prosecutors are claiming that Jones made Mr. Trone and his son aware of PnB Rock’s location the night of the tragedy.

What are your thoughts on day one of the PnB Rock murder trial? How long do you predict this will go on for before people are found guilty? Where were you when you heard the news that he was shot?
