Asap Rocky isn’t the only fashion killer in hip-hop. Lil Uzi Vert has gone on the record to declare their flyness. But on their new track “Endless Fashion” featuring Nicki Minaj, their designer obsession sores to new heights. As one of the breakout tracks from Lil Uzi Vert’s new album, Pink Tape, the rappers continue their magically collaborative streak.

On the track produced by Bugz Ronin, the pair boasts about their designer buds. In the second verse, Minaj flaunts her exclusive access to revered designers, rapping, “Ayo, even if my name was Natalie, none these b*tches still couldn’t chin-check me / That’s word to Chanel, it ain’t nothin’ to see, bitches on TV channelin’ me / Harajuku Barbie, Roman Zolanski, from Red Ruby to Chun-Li / I put door knocker earrings in Fendi, then stamped the trench coat Burberry.”

But before she closes her verse, there are a few more brands she wants to highlight, rapping, “I was really in the field with Karl Lager’ (Oop), now it’s Heaven campaigns / Check-in with Dapper Dan when I’m in Harlem / My n****s’ll blow like Virgil.”

Lil Uzi Vert joins in to shout out their favorite labels rapping, “These rappers can’t dress, yeah, they just be hatin’ / I never ratted, but got all the statements / Stopped wearing Kapital ’cause it got basic / I still wear Kapital, Uzi, stop fakin’ / I used to wear more Number (N)ine than Asians / I mix the Greg Lauren, purple label.”

Fashion and music go hand in hand. Lil Uzi Vert and Nicki Minaj are just the latest to highlight the symbiotic relationship.

To the delight of fans everywhere, Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape is finally here, and there’s a lot to digest. Rather, there are a whopping 26 tracks to go through, counting the three bonus songs, and a couple of interesting features. Of course, one of the most hyped and acclaimed so far has been Nicki Minaj’s contributions to the song “Endless Fashion,” where she has a few back-and-forth bars with Uzi plus her own verse. Moreover, the New York rap star recently spoke on her appearance on Pink Tape with Uzi’s flame JT, who wanted to commend Nicki for handing her verse in quickly. Then, Nicki explained what the process for that verse looked like.

“Can I tell them how fast you turned your verse in” JT tweeted at Nicki Minaj. “I almost had a heart attack today! You really too real & raw I love you.” “Girl I started @ 8am & finished like 5pm,” she replied. “When I tell you I was exhausted by the time I was done. Lol. B/c I was rushing to get it in on time. I kept telling [them] ’30 mins’ then hitting [them] back 2 hours later TB 15-20 more minutes Uzi!!!! I did that ALL DAY LONG YO.”

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Her Verse For Uzi’s Pink Tape

Across the 40-year-old’s killer verse, there are plenty of brag-heavy bars, clever instances of wordplay, and the charisma and technical skill you expect from a true vet like Nicki Minaj. “B***hes only eatin’ when I dust crumbs” and “I was really in the field with Karl Lager’, now it’s Heaven campaigns (R.I.P.)” are just a few standout lines. Lil Uzi Vert is a rapper who has faced questions about his sexuality in the past. Because of their very androgynous sense of style and the fact that they changed their pronouns to they/them last year some have asked questions. Uzi has always expressed fondness for the support they’ve received from the LGBT community. But according to HipHopDX, early on Pink Tape Uzi puts questions about their sexuality permanently to rest.

The album starts off with “Flooded The Face” which features lyrics about Uzi’s orientation. “First of all, I f*ck eight b*tches a day, How could you ever say Lil Uzi gay?, F*ck four of ’em raw, f*ck four of ’em safe, Think I’m splittin’ the odds before you to debate.” While Uzi is no stranger to spitting bars about the sex they’re having, this is the first time where they’ve taken on his gay allegations directly. Later on in the album on the track “Spin Again” they return to the idea with new lyrics. “they thought I was gay, but I don’t know how though,” the song reads. That song also features a lyric comparing the girl Uzi is with to Ice Spice. Those lyrics in particular sparked some controversy when Uzi performed the song at the BET Awards.

Lil Uzi Vert Says He Isn’t Gay

Lil Uzi Vert and their partner, JT from City Girls, got in a viral fight during the BET show. While many thought initially that the Ice Spice lyric might have had something to do with the fight, both sides quickly denied that and supplied their own explanations.

Lil Uzi Vert made sure everybody knew they were okay with JT a few days later. The rapper hosted a party for the release of their new album where many collaborators and friends showed up. Lil Uzi Vert might have just come through with hip-hop’s first #1 album of 2023. Although we’ll have to see how Young Thug’s Business Is Business performs on Billboard 200, Uzi’s Pink Tape could very well become the highest-selling hip hop album of the year. After all, it’s been nearly three years since Eternal Atake and they began teasing Pink Tape last year. Plus, the success of “Just Wanna Rock” created even more anticipation surrounding the project.

This morning, Pink Tape arrived in its entirety with features from Nicki Minaj, Don Toliver, and Travis Scott. However, Uzi even nabbed some more unexpected features from Babymetal and Bring Me The Horizon. The eclectic collection of records remains cohesive while leaping into more experimental grounds, as we’ve expected from the Philadelphia artist. And ultimately, the risks prove rewarding as fans are already declaring Pink Tape to be the Album Of The Year.

The moment that the clock struck midnight, fans flooded streaming platforms like Apple, Tidal, and Spotify, which reportedly crashed after the project release. Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape is upon us. The new release is a massive 26 tracks deep and brings in Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Bring Me The Horizon, and BABYMETAL. The new album features the uber-popular single “Just Wanna Rock”

According to Billboard, before the launch of the album Lil Uzi Vert hosted a prom-themed album listening party at Irving Plaza in New York City, with Lil Baby and City Girls’ JT on hand.

During an appearance at The Summer Smash Festival on last Saturday (June 24), Lil Uzi stated the album would be coming “in a couple of days.” He held true to the statement.

Gibson Hazard directs the animated trailer and shows the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper preparing for a final battle after ousting all his other animated opps after his pink diamond is removed from his forehead.

Over the weekend, Lil Uzi Vert was on hand in Chicago for the Summer Smash Festival, and after he revealed the album would come before the end of the month, he would send the crowd into a frenzy with a stage dive.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Unexpected Cover Of System Of A Down’s ‘Chop Suey’ From ‘Pink Tape’ Has Fans Divided

Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape has been a long time coming, but at last, it’s finally here. The project dropped at midnight and since then, it has taken over social media. Fans have been particularly whipped into a frenzy by the song “CS,” which turns out to be a cover of System Of A Down’s 2001 signature song “Chop Suey!.”

After the album’s release, the phrases “Chop Suey” and “SOAD” were trending on Twitter. Some Uzi fans are pumped, like one who wrote, “Lil Uzi Vert sampling Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE theme song, doing a cover to System Of A Down’s classic Chop Suey, and making a song with bands like Bring Me The Horizon and BABYMETAL was not on my 2023 bingo card. I have 0 complaints. It kicks ass and I want more of it.”

Meanwhile, some System Of A Down enthusiasts aren’t super impressed. One tweeted, “me seeing that system of a down is trending only to realize that people are talking about some mid ass chop suey cover,” alongside the meme of SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Squidward setting up a folding chair before going back inside in disappointment.

After much anticipation and many teasers, Lil Uzi Vert has arrived with his new album, Pink Tape. In the last few months, they and the Generation Now team have hinted at the project’s release, although both parties kept most details surrounding the album under wraps. Finally, the rapper came through with their latest body of work with 26 songs in total. It’s a mesmerizing body of work that continues to carve out Lil Uzi Vert’s colorful and vibrant space in hip-hop.

The rapper’s latest body of work includes some familiar collaborators. Travis Scott appears on “Aye,” which he previewed at a concert on Thursday night (June 29). Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj comes through with another stand-out verse on “Endless Fashion,” extending their track record together. Additionally, the project includes appearances from Don Toliver, Baby Metal, and Bring Me The Horizon. Uzi brings together an eclectic group of collaborators to bring his vision to life, although some might be disappointed that Playboi Carti isn’t anywhere to be seen.

Pink Tape Arrives

It’s been a busy rollout for Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape. The rapper began the campaign for the album with the release of their viral single, “Just Wanna Rock,” – a song that they performed at the Grammys and most recently, at the 2023 BET Awards, where he also debuted a new song from Pink Tape. However, “Just Wanna Rock” became a vibrant anthem that undoubtedly helped popularize the growing trend of Jersey Club production in hip-hop these days. It also spurred a conversation on whether it surpassed Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” as the official anthem of Philadelphia. However, Uzi denies that that’s the case.

Pink Tape serves as the official follow-up to 2020’s Eternal Atake, as well as his deluxe edition, Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World 2. Since then, they continued to keep a stream of music on the way, including his collaborative effort with Future, Pluto X Baby Pluto, and Red & White EP. Uzi’s also been coming through with several stand-out guest verses on records with Veeze, Yeat, Lil Baby, and even Drake, although that particular collaboration has yet to surface. Lil Uzi Vert Producer Responds To Impatient Fans Asking About “Pink Tape”

Taking to Instagram, Uzi’s producer, Lyle, emphasized that they are not rushing the album because their intention is to create a “classic” rather than a collection of “random songs.” Lyle also revealed that Uzi has been consistently recording around five songs per day, which have been progressively improving. However, this has contributed to the lengthy wait for the album, as it has been challenging to narrow down the selection from over 1500 songs to create a cohesive album. Lil Uzi Vert Bodyguard Arrested For Impersonating Law Enforcement, Gun Possession: Report

The man responsible for keeping Lil Uzi Vert safe has found himself in trouble with the law for allegedly impersonating law enforcement. Per New York Post, Kevin Nelson, the rapper’s bodyguard, was detained by NYPD on Monday. Police said they found him with an illegal semi-automatic firearm in his car but his attempt to get out of the arrest is what led to the outrageous charge. Authorities claim they pulled him over when he was in the passenger seat of a Ford F-1450 over a traffic stop. However, they claim he attempted to convince the officers that he was a cop. 

It didn’t take long for the cops to realize that Nelson had no official affiliation with law enforcement. NYPD officials identified Nelson as a Philadelphia resident before hitting him with charges of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal impersonation. Fortunately, Lil Uzi Vert wasn’t in the car, nor did he face any arrests because of his security. However, the incident reportedly took place after his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he performed his hit record, “Just Wanna Rock.”

While Nelson faces charges, Uzi’s recent performance on The Tonight Show indicates that his upcoming Pink Tape will arrive shortly. After dropping Red + White last summer, the rapper hinted at his follow-up to Eternal Atake. Though the project has been in the works for a few years, DJ Cannon revealed that Lil Uzi Vert recorded upwards of 700 songs within a year and a half. Cannon explained that they needed to sift through the vault to find the right songs for the tracklist.

Meanwhile, Uzi provided fans with a brief update at Rolling Loud. Knowing that he’s made many empty promises to his fans, he assured them that the body of work is near completion and should be out soon. “I do make y’all wait a long time for music and I’m so sorry. I thought that shit was cool before but that shit is lame,” he said during his performance. “I’m putting the final touches on Pink Tape and I promise — I made a lot of promises in my life, but this time I promise.”
