A Bomb Threat Caused Security To Hurry Patti LaBelle Off The Stage In Milwaukee
Patti LaBelle had a “magical” time honoring Gladys Knight at the 45th Annual Kennedy Center Honors last Sunday, and she hoped to keep that vibe going for her An Evening Of Holiday & Hits concert at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater on Saturday night. Alas, the evening was cut short.
According to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Page Six, a bomb threat caused security personnel to interrupt LaBelle on stage as she was conversing with an audience member, who was there to celebrate her 70th birthday. Milwaukee Police Captain Warren E. Allen Jr. emailed the Sentinel that “all patrons have been safely evacuated,” “no explosive devices were discovered,” and “there is no threat to the public at this time.” He also noted that an investigation into the threat is ongoing.

“Tonight’s [Patti LaBelle] show at the Riverside Theater has been postponed following a bomb threat investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department,” Pabst Theater Group tweeted. “We are thankful for the efforts of the Milwaukee Police Department and our customers and staff for their safe and orderly exit.” Another tweet clarified, “We are working with the artist to reschedule the show.”

Scott Pierce, who was in attendance, told the Sentinel, “It happened so quickly. Everybody very calmly exited the theater in a disbelieving manner. I heard lots of comments about how sad it was that someone would pull such a pathetic stunt. … Before the incident the crowd was really enjoying Patti. Just sad that someone does this.”
Patti LaBelle Says 2Pac’s “California Love” Made Her Want To Learn To Crip Walk
Patti Labelle recently sat down with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN for a recent episode of Drink Champs. During the interview, the music legend shared her earliest memories of interacting with hip hop.
“I guess it was 2Pac” LaBelle said before being reminded of her collaboration with Big Daddy Kane “Feels Like Another One.”
“But I started moving to ‘California Love,’” Labelle said to the podcast hosts. “That’s when I started to Crip Walk,” she added.
DJ EFN then asked LaBelle if she ever met Pac to which she responded “No, never.” N.O.R.E then asked her if she had ever met Biggie to wich she also responded “No, but Biggie had a song about Patti,” referencing the song “Just Playing (Dreams)” where Big raps “I’d probably go to jail for f*cking Patti LaBelle.”
During the interview LaBelle also spoke on her relationship with Jazmine Sullivan, admitting that at one point she thought the Heaux Tales artist hated her.
“I thought Jazmine Sullivan hated me. Let me say something, last week, she made my heart pound, hard. She called me,” LaBelle said. “The same gentleman, Marquese, who made this outfit and the outfit that I wore for Essence last couple weeks ago, he’s good friends with Jazmine. And so, he said ‘Jazmine and I always used to talk about who’s coming to Patti LaBelle’s party first? You or me?’”
