Young Thug & Drake Plan A “Parade on Cleveland” On Their New Fan Favourite Collab

Young Thug and Drake is a duo that’s given us no shortage of fire collaborations over the years. “Way 2 Sexy” with Future and “Sacrifices” with 2 Chainz are definite standouts, though we also frequently revisit “Ice Melts” and “Bubbly” with Travis Scott. Though Thugger remains behind bars as his YSL RICO trial wages on, his team managed to drop an album on his behalf, BUSINESS IS BUSINESS, which has the Atlanta-based artist on top of his game once again.

Opening the 15-track effort is “Parade on Cleveland,” a nearly four-minute long song that features Drake and finds him showing off his singing chops over Metro Boomin’s dreamy production. “Ayy, soon as I’m fresh out the box like a Tic-Tac / We havin’ sex soon as I get my b**ch back / It ain’t gon’ be sexy when I get my lick back,” the 36-year-old cleverly rhymes shortly after the song begins. Later we hear a phone call between Thug and his friend, during which he seemingly throws shade at Gunna.

Drake Opens Young Thug’s BUSINESS IS BUSINESS Album with “Parade on Cleveland”

“Uh, I ain’t doin’ s**t, man / Just pushin’ more Peter, more sweeter, more completer / Than any Peter pusher around,” the So Much Fun hitmaker tells Drake from Cobb County Jail. “See what I’m sayin’, twin? Ha (Ha-ha-ha),” he added as both men laugh. Of course, the track follows Gunna’s a Gift & a Curse album, which put him back in the good graces of many hip-hop heads after being outcast for taking a plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

Made a jail call to your b**ch, she say you down
You a bug in the grass, finna get ate by my cow
I’m just livin’ my life on the jet, ridin’ ’round

Young Thug & Drake Are Living Large On “Oh U Went”

Young Thug’s gone through a strenuous few months as the court attempts to select jurors for the upcoming YSL RICO trial. Although he likely won’t be released until his trial begins, the rapper isn’t leaving fans empty-handed this summer. This morning, the rapper came through with the official release of his new album, Business Is Business. Marking his first full-length LP since Punk, the star-studded affair includes features from artists like 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, and of course, Drake.

The Canadian rapper was among those who shared the countdown last week that suggested a new Young Thug album was coming soon. However, he pulled through for Young Thug heavily, having dropped off two guest appearances on the project. Drake appears on the album opener, “Parade On Cleveland,” diving into his R&B bag. Still, it’s his feature on “Oh U Went” that became an instantaneous highlight from the 15-song collection.

Drake & Young Thug Collide On “Oh U Went”

With Metro Boomin handling the production alongside BoogzDaBeast and FNZ, Drizzy and Thugger deliver a bubbly and soulful offering with “Oh U Went.” Thugger takes the lead on the record, delivering smooth flows with the elasticity of his voice and detailing his wealthy lifestyle. However, it’s Drake that comes through with a stand-out verse filled with opulent flexes and effortless wordplay.

Just before the album went live, Drake shared the cover art on his Instagram page and suggested that he pulled a massive favor for Thug. “You owe me one this time,” Drake wrote on his Instagram page. Few rappers can pull a Drake feature, let alone two. Clearly, Young Thug appreciates Drake’s efforts, writing in the comments, “U will be paid.” Check out Young Thug and Drake’s latest collab above and let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Quotable Lyrics
It’s gettin’ hard to put a price on a show, can’t even pick an amount now
If a n***a really try to jam me, get jammed first like the countdown
I thank God for that flight straight from the 9 side goin’ Southbound
They say that life’s about balance, baby, and the balance is in my account now

Young Thug Shares A Message From Jail On His Track With Drake From ‘Business Is Business’

Last week, Young Thug announced a mysterious release titled “Business Is Business” with a countdown timer set to end the following week. True to its word, the countdown concluded with the release of Thug’s new album Business Is Business. It arrived with 15 songs and features from Drake, Future, Travis Scott, Yak Gotti, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, BSlime, Lil Got It, and Nate Ruess. The album opened with a record titled “Parade On Cleveland” which features Drake, and on it, Thug delivers a quick message from jail.

Following a verse from Drake, the Toronto rapper presumably accepts a collect call to the Cobb County Adult Detention Facility from Thug himself. “Wassup my brother, talk to me, what’s the word?” Drake asks and Thug replies, “Uh, I ain’t doin’ sh*t, man. Just pushin’ more Peter, more sweeter, more completer than any Peter pusher around. See what I’m sayin’ Slime?”

For what it’s worth, it seems like Thug is in good spirits based on that phone call, which is good to hear considering that the rapper has been in jail for over a year now.

You can listen to “Parade From Cleveland” in the video above.
