[WATCH] DMX’s Goddaughter Paige Hurd Reveals They Were Once Kicked Out Of Six Flags For Weed Possession

A few years ago I shared my personal DMX stories from my time in Harlem with the legendary rapper. Now his goddaughter Paige Hurd revealed they were once kicked out of Six Flags for weed possession.

In a recent interview with Preme Magazine, Hurd said during the early days of getting to know one another as co-stars in Cradle 2 The Grave, Hurd was petrified of going to Six Flags with X and her sister because she was afraid of going on roller coasters or amusement park rides.

“Like right before we were filming Cradle 2 the Grave, we had to do like daddy-daughter bonding,” she began. “He came to pick me up from my house… And he was taking us to Six Flags. Now, I’m claustrophobic I do not do roller coasters, I don’t do theme parks.

“I was like, ‘Yeah, well, I don’t ride rollercoasters.’ He was like, ‘Well, you are today.’ I was freaking out the entire way there. He drives very fast. I’m pretty sure we could all imagine. Very, very fast in this small car and we’re driving down the 5 freeway [and he] misses the exit. You think he goes to the next exit? Middle of the freeway, reverses and reverses down the on-ramp to get up.

“We get to Six Flags and me and my sister are terrified we have to get on these rides. And by the grace of God, weed was not legal then. They found weed and we got kicked out before we even got in. And I am like, ‘I’m the Lord’s child. He loves him some Paige.’ Then we ended up going to the mall, KFC and hanging out for the day. That’s one of my first memories that we’ve had.”

The actress also shared she will follow in X’s footsteps as she’s preparing for the release of a rap album, Hurd U, later this year featuring collabs with Meek Mill, 21 Savage and more.

DMX’s Goddaughter Paige Hurd Recalls Them Getting Kicked Out Of Six Flags

While getting to know one another as co-stars on Cradle 2 The Grave, DMX and Paige Hurd took a trip to Six Flags. However, it didn’t go exactly as planned, with them being kicked out of the amusement park after the group got caught with weed. Moreover, the legendary rapper’s goddaughter recalled the experience during a recent interview with Preme Magazine. As it turns out, the Power actress was actually terrified of rollercoasters, so it worked out for her. Still, she looked back fondly on one of their first memories together as they developed their on-screen father-daughter chemistry ahead of filming.

“Like right before we were filming Cradle 2 the Grave, we had to do like daddy-daughter bonding,” Paige Hurd remarked about the DMX story. “He came to pick me [and my sister] up from my house… And he was taking us to Six Flags. Now, I’m claustrophobic I do not do rollercoasters, I don’t do theme parks. I was like, ‘Yeah, well, I don’t ride rollercoasters.’ He was like, ‘Well, you are today.’ I was freaking out the entire way there. He drives very fast. I’m pretty sure we could all imagine. Very, very fast in this small car and we’re driving down the 5 freeway [and he] misses the exit.

Paige Hurd Tells The Story Of Her & DMX At Six Flags

“You think he goes to the next exit?” the 30-year-old continued. “Middle of the freeway, reverses and reverses down the on-ramp to get up. We get to Six Flags and me and my sister are terrified we have to get on these rides. And by the grace of God, weed was not legal then. They found weed and we got kicked out before we even got in. And I am like, ‘I’m the Lord’s child. He loves him some Paige.’ Then we ended up going to the mall, KFC and hanging out for the day. That’s one of my first memories that we’ve had.

Through memories and tales like these, the legacy of DMX lives on as strongly as ever. While his absence is still painfully felt in the rap world, his impact was too large to be erased by mortality. In the coming years, as younger generations discover his catalog, we should expect much more reflections on his greatness. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates surrounding DMX.

Blxst Spends A Night In With His Lady In The Cozy ‘About You’ Video

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the first thing that pops into your head watching Blxst’s new video for “About You” is the Netflix romantic drama Malcolm & Marie. The two works share a similar aesthetic and theme — a couple’s night in (with Blxst and Power‘s Paige Hurd), shot in classic black-and-white — and feature their leads shifting through the various patterns of a well-worn relationship. They argue, they sulk, they make up, and they cuddle. However, on the whole, Blxst’s version of this tale seems a lot less fraught and toxic — as long as you don’t listen to the lyrics of the song.

“Girl, I know my selfish ways be OD,” the LA-bred singer croons. “But I just express in ways you don’t see.” Of course, he cleans it up by the song’s end — which might actually strengthen the connection between Blxst’s video and the Netflix critical darling.

And just like the streaming giant, Blxst’s career has been flourishing ever since the COVID-19 pandemic caused a lockdown that gave plenty of people way more time for music discovery. Since releasing his debut EP, No Love Lost, Blxst has featured on tracks with Nas, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Wale, and more, becoming an R&B playlist mainstay — as he illustrates in his new video. With live entertainment slowly but surely returning, Blxst is quickly climbing the ranks to become one of the game’s most sought-after stars.
