Tyrese Haliburton Fit Compared To Yasiin Bey Amid Drake Beef

Fans online have compared a recent image of Tyrese Haliburton in a flat cap and puffer jacket to the signature fashion of Yasiin Bey. However, more specifically, fans have used the candid photos to reference Bey’s ongoing beef with Drake. “Mos Def hearing “Passionfruit” in Target,” one person wrote on X over a photo of Haliburton appearing to protest a call at a recent Pacers game.

The comments are a hilarious addition to the feud between the two rappers. Bey recently said that Drake’s music is the sort of music that’s perfect for a Target run. Obviously, Drizzy, who is also beefing with Metro Boomin, didn’t take too kindly to the comments from the rapper and actor. And now one of the NBA’s biggest rising stars is catching heat just for having a nice sideline fit. Haliburton, who is likely set to be named an All-Star this week, is currently nursing a hamstring injury.

Drake Jumps On “Tripod Bro” Trend

Additionally, amid the beef, Drake added to the growing collection of “tripod bro” videos, giving fans a vlog in which he shows off his nighttime routine. Drizzy mixes himself a drink, takes in some art, hits the hookah, and goes swimming. The entire thing is weirdly neon giving much of the apparent lighting in his home. Furthermore, he soundtracked the entire thing with “Virginia Beach”, a track from 2023’s For All The Dogs. The tripod bro trend has gone viral in recent weeks, with male lifestyle vloggers doing “a day in the life” style content.

However, there were also layers to Drake’s vlog. He tagged Drew Walls, a lifestyle influencer who is often seen going to Target in his videos. This, combined with the inclusion of “Virginia Beach”, appeared to be more shots at Bey for his aforementioned comments. However, as a result, fans are now clamoring for Drake to do another video. This time, they want content showing him going to Target.

Pacers Trade For Pascal Siakam

The Indiana Pacers have sent Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks to Toronto in exchange for two-time All-Star Pascal Siakam. Siakam, averaging 22.2/6.3/4.9 this season, gives Indiana a proven tandem partner for rising star Tyrese Haliburton. At 23-17, the Pacers have the highest-scoring offense in the NBA. However, Siakam would become just their second 20-point shooter behind Haliburton. Despite the move, and the heavy price for it, the Pacers will need to work quickly on an extension, as Siakam is a free agent in the offseason.

“I’m excited that Pascal is getting a first-class opportunity with the Pacers, being paired with Tyrese [Haliburton] and Myles [Turner] and being coached by a great coach in Rick Carlisle. His future looks bright there,” Siakam’s agent, Todd Ramasar, told Andscape. Per ESPN, the Raptors received two 2024 first-round picks and another in 2026.

Warriors Coach Dejan Milojevic Dies

However, the trade was preceded by tragic news on the West Coast. The NBA has postponed a game between the Warriors and Jazz following the death of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic. Milojevic, 46, suffered a heart attack in Salt Lake City on January 16 during a private team dinner and passed away the following day. Milojevic had served on Steve Kerr’s staff since 2021 and was well-regarded both within the NBA and abroad. Furthermore, at least one team interviewed Milojevic about their head coaching vacancy following the 2022/23 season.

Prior to coming to the NBA, Milojevic established himself as a proven winner in Eastern Europe. Additionally, his time coaching Serbian side Mega meant that he was closely involved with the early development of Nikola Jokic. “We are absolutely devastated by Dejan Milojević’s sudden passing. This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him. We grieve with and for his wife, Natasa, and their children, Nikola and Masa,” The Warriors wrote on social media.

Giannis Antetokounmpo He Can’t Stop Thinking About Losing To The Pacers, Even During Sex

Giannis Antetokounmpo made some hilarious comments after he was asked how he felt about 40% of the Bucks’ losses this season coming against the Pacers. “You think about it. When you go home and sleep and wake up, you think about it. When you go back and work out, you think about it….When you’re about to get freaky at night, you think about it,” Giannis said. Giannis and longtime partner Mariah Riddlespringer, who have three children together, revealed they were engaged in September 2023.

The Pacers have beaten the Bucks four times this season, including in back-to-back games on January 1 and January 3. However, the Bucks, whose one win against Indiana devolved into a post-game brawl, will not have any chance for revenge until the playoffs. There are no more scheduled games between the two teams for the rest of the season. Furthermore, at the time of writing, the Bucks are the second seed while the Pacers are the fifth seed.

Giannis Leads Early All-Star Voting

Meanwhile, Giannis was the overall top vote-getter in early returns for All-Star Voting. LeBron James and Giannis have both surpassed two million votes in the first round of public all-star voting. Meanwhile – Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Tyrese Haliburton all broke the one million vote mark. Next month’s game, which will be held in Indianapolis, will also return to the old East v West matchup format. The return to the traditional method of team selection replaces the recently used Captain’s Draft method. Giannis and LeBron were both captains last year, with Giannis’ team winning a high-scoring game in Salt Lake City.

Additionally, if selected, LeBron will become the NBA’s all-time All-Star leader with 20 selections. He is currently tied for 19 selections with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James Harden, who started the season benched by the Sixers, is currently in fourth place in Western Conference backcourt voting. Voting runs through January 20, with the next voting update released on January 11. Who do you want to make the All-Star Game? Let us know in the comments.

Myles Turner Attends Pacers’ “Star Wars” Night With Girlfriend Dressed As Princess Leia

Pacers center Myles Turner was allowed to express his full inner geek when the team held a Star Wars night earlier this week. Turner arrived dressed as Han Solo while his partner wowed in a faithful recreation of Princess Leia’s iconic outfit. The pair had previously dressed as Hogwarts students to celebrate Halloween. However, people have been begging Turner for the woman’s name as it is something he has kept very private. Furthermore, Turner appeared in a Jedi robe and wielding a lightsaber in several promotional images for the event.

As for the game itself, the force was certainly with the high-flying Pacers. They blew out the Hornets 144-113. Turner had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks to do his part as the team snapped a four-game losing streak. However, Turner picked up a hamstring injury during the game. As a result, he is currently listed as a game-time decision ahead of the team’s next game against the Grizzlies.

Speaking of the Grizzlies, a new shadow hangs over recently returned star Ja Morant. According to Judge Carol Chumney who is presiding over an assault suit involving Morant, she is not ready to rule on whether he is protected by self-defense immunity. She stated that she needed more time with the case due to the lack of precedent. Tennessee has stringent self-defense laws. However, they have never been applied to a civil case like the one Morant is facing.

Morant has been sued by Joshua Holloway. Holloway claims that Morant assaulted him when Holloway attended a pick-up game at Morant’s home. Morant has countered that he was defending himself as Holloway hit him in the face with a basketball. Furthermore, Morant’s lawyers have argued that this qualifies Morant for immunity from prosecution under state law. The ongoing trial has played out in the background as Morant scored 34 points, including a game-winning buzzer-beater, in his NBA return this week.

Shaq Sides With Giannis Antetokounmpo In Pacers Game Ball Dispute

Shaq has told TMZ that he has sided with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the debate over who should get the game ball from the Bucks recent game with the Pacers. “I think by the letter of the law, if you’re playing at home, you should get the ball in both circumstances. But, you know I think Giannis had the right to be upset. [Speaking as Giannis] ‘Hey, We’re in Milwaukee, I just made history, I want the ball.’ And you know, he went after the ball,” Shaq explained.

Tensions flared between Giannis and members of the Indiana Pacers after the Pacers seemingly took the game ball from Giannis’ record-breaking night. A scuffle ensued in the corridor outside the visitors’ locker room as Giannis confronted Tyrese Haliburton amongst others. This led to two versions of events. Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said the team took the ball to mark Oscar Tshiebwe’s first career points. Meanwhile, Giannis said he went looking for the ball to mark Damian Lillard moving into fifth place on the career three-pointers list. However, both Giannis and Carlisle agreed that the confrontation was “unfortunate”.

Shaq Speaks On Draymond Green Suspension

In the same interview with TMZ, Shaq also touched on Draymond Green’s recent “indefinite suspension”. Shaq has the outlet that he believes the appropriate suspension for Draymond Green after his ejection against the Suns is just two games. “I don’t think Draymond said, ‘Hey, I’m going to punch this guy just ’cause he’s pulling my jersey,’” Shaq said. Green is currently one game into an indefinite suspension. Per the NBA’s statement on the decision, the suspension “takes into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.” Furthermore, “He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play,” the league added. Green received his 18th career ejection, and third of the season, for striking the Suns’ Jusuf Nurkić in the face with a spinning backhand early in the third quarter of Tuesday’s game.

Many people have said that the punishment for Green was too harsh. “😆This fool is my favorite basketball 🏀 player, WTF Is wrong wit him. 🤷🏽‍♂️that was a mistake, I will apologize for him. 🤨come on it’s a physical game,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. However, the league has held firm in keeping Green sidelined for the time being.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Feuds With Pacers After They Take Game Ball From His Record-Breaking Night

Tensions flared between Giannis Antetokounmpo and members of the Indiana Pacers after the Pacers seemingly took the game ball from Giannis’ record-breaking night.

The backstage confrontation soured a historic night in Milwaukee. Giannis scored 64 points, setting a new franchise record and career high for the Greek star. The previous Bucks benchmark was 57, set by Michael Redd in 2006. Meanwhile, Giannis’ previous career high was 55 earlier this year. “He’s an unstoppable player. You can’t guard him one-on-one. You’ve got some really good guys surrounding him, but at the end of the day, it’s all him. His talent. His ability. His will. He has an incredible will to win, and he’ll do whatever it takes to win,” first-year Bucks coach Adrian Griffin said.

Draymond Green Suspended

However, tension wasn’t only felt in Milwaukee. Draymond Green has been “suspended indefinitely” by the NBA after being ejected against the Suns earlier this week.

While Green did apologize for the incident, the NBA has chosen to come down hard on the veteran. The Warriors will meet with Green and his agent, Rich Paul, to devise a rehabilitative program to help Green return to the court. Furthermore, a source told ESPN that the Warriors had “lost their leverage for disciplining” Green after not adequately punishing him after he punched Jordan Poole last season. However, sources also told the outlet that Green is open to getting “whatever help he needs” to “overcome the challenges he is facing.”

Damian Lillard Respects Tyrese Haliburton’s “Dame Time” Celebration

Damian Lillard told reporters he had no problem with Tyrese Haliburton hitting his iconic “Dame Time” celebration against him. “I learned as a kid, when you dish it out, you’ve got to be willing to take it. For as many times as I’ve done it to people, I can’t be upset when somebody else does it, you know what I mean. I think that’s also a sign of respect and acknowledgment for knowing my history and knowing what I do. I didn’t mind it. It was what it was. I’ve also known that, you know, when you are having your moment, it’s important to be careful, to be humble in your moments because you just never know how the tables are going to turn or when they are going to turn. I respected it. We shook hands after the game. I wasn’t moved by it left or right,” Lillard said.

Haliburton hit the celebration late in the Pacers’ win over the Bucks in the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament. Haliburton, who is already generating plenty of MVP hype, was once again white-hot against Milwaukee. He had a team-high 25 points, also adding 15 assists to the stat sheet as the Pacers won by nine. They will face the Lakers in the tournament final on Saturday.

Zion Williamson Admits To Bad Performance

However, it was a less successful night for Zion Williamson on the other side of the bracket. He put up just 13/2/3 in the Pelicans’ 44-point blowout loss to the Lakers. Despite this, Williamson was the first to admit that he didn’t play his best game. “I got to be better. I got to be more aggressive, finding my shot. And I got to do more things to get my team going. I think I was too laid-back tonight, and I just can’t do that. And defensively I got to be better,” Williamson said.

On the other side of the ball, LeBron James had one of his biggest games of the year. LeBron looked ageless as he put up 30/5/8 to power the Lakers into the title game against Indiana. However, that’s now two games in a row that Williamson has struggled to break double digits. In the Pels’ quarterfinal win over Sacramento, Williamson was held to just 10 points. “I have a problem where I literally just try to hunt the best shot possible every time, but my teammates, they expect more from me. I expect more from myself. But I got to just trust my game. I just got to be more aggressive. I think if I’m more aggressive that energy will definitely carry over,” Williamson added.
