Similar to professional sports, music is a competitive arena. The 2024 Paris Olympics has only heightened the tension in the air. But the lighthearted mashups of competitors in the games and music’s biggest stars has shown just how interwoven things are.

Last month, Snoop Dogg vowed to give up smoke (but for real this time) to cover the showdowns. Yesterday (July 1), SZA relived her inner gymnast dreams with Simone Biles.

In the pair’s sit down, SZA showed off her freakishly flexible skills in a friendly handstand battle. When asked about her abilities, the “Saturn” singer revealed to Biles that before pursuing a career in music, she trained to be a gymnast. Biles then asked what made her leave the life of an athlete behind.

“When it was clear to me that I wasn’t going to be a national gymnast,” she said. “I was like, ‘Ok, let me see what I can do. See what else I could do.”

SZA took to Instagram to share the episode and praise Biles. “I was SO honored to hang out with you, Simone Biles 🥹🤸🏾‍♀️🐐,” she wrote. “THIS FELT LIKE A FEVER DREAM. Good luck at your THIRD Olympic Games ! 🤞🏾🏅#ParisOlympics.”

Pot Patron Saint Snoop Dogg Plans To Once Again Give Up Smoke While Covering The Olympics In Paris: ‘They Can Test Me If They Want To’

Snoop Dogg’s promise to “give up smoke” last year may have been a sales-oriented ruse, but when he’s in Paris covering the Olympics next month, he’s definitely not going to be packing any paraphernalia. During a new interview with Time magazine, the patron saint of pot was asked about whether Paris’ prohibition of his favorite plant would affect his plans.

After assuring writer Sean Gregory that he’s “a very legal guy,” when it comes to keeping up on the rules and regulations of reefer in his international travels, Snoop affirmed, “I plan on going out there and doing NBC Olympic work. Being clean as a book, clean as the athletes. They can test me if they want to. I’m going to be out there doing what I’m supposed to be doing to make sure I bring home the gold. Which is me.”

The Doggfather also offered some salient samples of his sports insights regarding a pair of contrasting, but equally controversial athletes, Caitlin Clark and Sha’Carri Richardson. With regard to whether Clark should have made the Olympic team in basketball, Snoop was adamant: No.

“They ain’t lost in about 18 years,” he recalled. “On the women’s side in basketball, in the Olympics, they know what they’re doing. What they said is basically, she’s great, but I don’t believe she’s gold-medal-worthy until she pulls her stuff in the WNBA. This is a big step from college to the WNBA. I love what she’s done for the sport in general. But you’ve got to understand, these are WNBA players that have been seasoned to do this. And when you’re going for that gold medal, you want your best girls out there.”

For Richardson, he jovially compared his track performance to hers to point out the Olympic committee’s error in classifying cannabis as a performance enhancer. “I just ran a 34.44 in the 200 meters and I was smoking all night. So that sh*t ain’t got nothing to do with helping my time at all. It f*cked my time up, if anything. Unless they got some super sh*t to get you faster. Let me know where it is and I’ll be the first to try.”

Snoop Dogg Will Be Bringing His Distinct ‘Snoop Style’ To Join NBC’s 2024 Paris Olympics Coverage

Snoop Dogg will be helping out with some coverage of the Olympics this summer, as he will team up with NBCUniversal in Paris. The news came during the Sunday Night Football halftime on New Year’s Eve.

As for what to expect when Snoop starts helping out on July 26, he’ll be chatting with NBC’s Olympics host, Mike Tirico, and will “explore the city’s iconic landmarks, attend Olympic competitions and events and make visits to the athletes, their friends and families,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. And it will probably be very entertaining, even if you’re not super into sports.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris,” he shared. “It’s a celebration of skill, dedication and the pursuit of greatness. We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”

As an early teaser, Snoop appeared in a video with Olympic stars from different sports, including “Suni Lee (gymnastics), A’ja Wilson (basketball), Jagger Eaton (skateboarder), and Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes (beach volleyball),” per the publication.

Back in 2021, Snoop Dogg had also provided some hilarious highlights commentary of the Tokyo Olympics on Peacock — which led to him being picked for primetime.

Megan Thee Stallion Pitched Her ‘Hot Girl Style’ To The Olympics, And It Includes A Fire-Breathing Horse

Megan Thee Stallion is turning horses into hot girls, as she hilariously appears in a new skit for the 2024 Olympic Games. The clip opens with Megan welcoming viewers to “thee Paris Olympics” as she dances alongside some equestrians.

“Look at my hot girl,” she says, as the video cuts to a horse with red highlights to match her own. However, it’s not just any regular horse. This one says “Bonjour” and has wings. And breathes fire.

As it turns out, this is all part of Megan’s fantasy pitch, as she explains her idea to a room of business representatives. “And that, is the Olympics, hot girl style,” she adds.

“What do they not get about this?” the horse says at the end.

While it’s unclear if Megan will appear in any other promotional videos ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, it is still a fun holiday treat.

“As America gathers together today on Thanksgiving, we wanted to surprise the nation with an Olympic moment as big as the holiday, and what better way to do that than with ‘Thee Olympics,’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion and dressage horses at Versailles,” Jenny Storms, NBC Universal’s CMO Of Sports And Entertainment, shared in a statement, via Rolling Stone. “As we approach the new year, even more surprises are in store as we continue to bring to life the biggest media event of 2024 — the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
