Kanye West Admitted Nicki Minaj ‘Killed Me On My Own Song’ With Her Iconic ‘Monster’ Verse, Amber Rose Claims

Nicki Minaj’s verse on Kanye West’s 2010 My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy hit “Monster” has become an iconic moment in hip-hop history, and a lot has been said about it in the years since. Amber Rose previously said in 2018 that Ye nearly cut Minaj’s contributions from the song, and Minaj also has her own version of how she almost didn’t make it onto the track. Now, Rose has spoken more about it, claiming that after Minaj recorded her verse, West said something along the lines of, “How the f*ck did you bring in a b*tch that killed me on my own song?”

Speaking about her upcoming album in a new interview on Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay’s Higher Learning podcast, Rose said, “Just know that this was not an overnight thing. I’ve been quiet, on purpose. I sat in the studio day and night. I have a good ear. I’ve A&R’d a bunch of amazing projects.”

That latter point piqued Lathan’s interest, so he asked for examples. Rose replied, “All my boyfriends, all of ’em.” Lathan asked, “You A&R’d for Ye?” Rose responded, “Absolutely! I put Nicki on ‘Monster.’ I put Nicki on ‘Monster.’ I put Nicki on ‘Monster,’ he didn’t know who Nicki was back then. I had Nicki pull up to the studio and I put her on ‘Monster.’

Rose continued, “She was still coming up, and I saw her in the studio and I said, ‘Oh my god, this b*tch is f*cking talented as hell.’ And then I went back to Kanye and I was like, ‘You need to get this girl Nicki on ‘Monster.’ And he was like, ‘Who? What? No. I’m not…” And I said, ‘Just let her pull up, what’s it going to hurt?’ […] She heard the song and then she came back the next day with the verse.”

Lathan then pointed out that West nearly didn’t include the verse on the song, which Rose said was “because it was too good.” She continued, “He told me that the same day. He’s like, ‘How the f*ck did you bring in a b*tch that killed me on my own song?’”

Nicki Minaj Teases A New Song Sampling Rick James’ ‘Super Freak’

Barbz, rejoice. It appears NM5 is imminent. Yesterday, Nicki Minaj took to social media to tease new music. In the video clip, shared on her social channels, she is seen dancing on a couch, twerking in all her glory.

Fans get a taste of new music with the video, as a new song utilizing a heavy sample of Rick James’ “Super Freak” plays throughout.

“I can lick it, I can ride it while you slippin’ and slidin’/ I can do all them little tricks and keep the d*ck up inside it / You can smack it, you can grip it, you can go down and kiss it / And every time he leave me alone he always tell me he miss it,” she raps.

This isn’t the first time Nicki has interpolated “Super Freak.” In “Wanna Minaj,” a cut from her 2008 mixtape, Sucka Free, she freestyles over “Freaky Gurl” by Gucci Mane, on the chorus of which, Gucci raps, “She’s a very freaky girl / Don’t bring her to mama.”

As of now, Nicki has not yet announced a title or a release date for her hotly-anticipated fifth studio album, but in a February interview with The Dana Cortez Show, she revealed that fans can expect the rap stylings they loved Nicki for during her mixtape era.

“There’s a little bit of full-circle-ness happening,” Nicki said, “because I’m creating music kinda like how I used to create music when I first started rapping on mixtapes. I just feel like that’s what’s needed right now… [writing] raps that connect with people, that make people want to sign a long and channel their inner bad bitch.”

Nicki Minaj’s United Kingdom Meet-And-Greet With Fans Was Canceled Due To Overcrowding

Nicki Minaj seems to be enjoying her time in the United Kingdom. She recently performed at the 2022 Wireless Festival where she was one of many female headliners for the showcase. After holding her performance at the Finsbury Park, North London edition of Wireless, Nicki decided to do a meet-and-greet with fans in Camden, UK. It was set to take place by Cafe Koko, but too many fans showed up at the location, and police were eventually forced to cancel the event due to concerns with overcrowding.

The Metropolitan police confirmed that staff at Cafe Koko were “concerned about significant crowding outside” and contacted them as the event’s start time approached. Organizers eventually went ahead and canceled the meet-and-greet “in the interests of safety.” Signs of overcrowding were clear as fans failed to maintain a singular line at Cafe Koko as Nicki arrived at the event.

This led to her sending out a tweet that asked fans to follow the rules set in place. “Guys, if you don’t get in a contained space they won’t let me get out the cars,” she wrote. “Pls don’t run in the streets. Please get in 1 place. 1 line [prayer hands emoji].”

The Guardian reports that police officers executed a “section 35 dispersal order” in order to clear the crowd. This allows a police officer to exclude a person from an area for up to 48 hours. Thankfully, no arrests were made at the event.

Kanye West Unfollows Nicki Minaj On Instagram After Calling Him A “Clown” During Performance

Kanye West and Nicki Minaj to Collaborate on Track About Body Shaming for 'Yhandi'

The Kanye and Nicki Minaj beef might be one of the weirdest beefs this year, as nobody really knows why it started or where it started from.

During her Essence Festival performance last week, Minaj started rapping her verse on Ye’s song “Monster,” but cut the song short and called Ye a clown. “I’m ‘Monster’-ed out, and we don’t f*ck with clowns,” Minaj said to the crowd.

Her remarks came the same day Cardi B announced her new single “Hot Sh*t” featuring Lil Durk and Kanye. This left fans speculating that there is still beef between Minaj and Cardi, and now Ye and Minaj because of his decision to work with the Invasion of Privacy artist.

Yesterday, however, it was reported that Kanye unfollowed Minaj on Instagram, in an apparent response to her calling him a “clown” on stage.

It was speculated that there was tension a couple of years ago after Kanye took Nicki’s verse off of an unreleased song “New Body” off of his album Yandhi that was never released as well and replaced with Jesus Is King.

In an interview with The Shade Room, Minaj spoke on the collab, saying that the two werent “seeing eye to eye on it,” and that Kanye wanted her to change her verse “four times over in order to fit into where [Kanye West] was creatively and spiritually, only to then go on the internet a few months later to see [West] on Drink Champs.”

Nicki Minaj Shoved A Fan On Video And Now All The Barbz Are Jealous

Every Nicki Minaj superfan’s dream is to be in the vicinity of their Queen. Barbz — as her passionate, rabid, do or die fans are commonly referred to — thirst to be by Nicki’s side, in her line of sight, in her mentions, all of it. But who knew that what the Barbz truly want, is for Minaj (who is not pregnant) to just give them a cold, hard shove. That’s exactly what happened earlier today in London and it was captured in a TikTok video.

Following her headlining performance on Sunday night at the Wireless Festival, Minaj took to her Instagram story to announce that she was doing a meet and greet for fans at Camden Town’s Cafe KoKo on Monday at noon. “I’m hoping a lot of y’all didn’t book the first flight leaving out tomorrow morning. I hope and pray that I get to see y’all. Y’all know how I normally do when I come to the UK,” she said.

Well the Barbz came out in droves. Swarming the area earlier today for the noon scheduled meet-up.

Sure, there were some crowd control issues, but nothing that a Nicki Minaj public appearance doesn’t normally garner. At one point though, there was quite a bit of pushing and Minaj found herself trying to navigate the crowd and asking people to move back. One fan thought this was the perfect time to snag a TikTok selfie video with their Queen. What they got instead was a nice forceful shove in the back, which promptly ended the video. “My fave literally touched me 😂😍#fyp #nickiminaj” the user, @theyluviish commented.

And while to some fanbases, this might be an indictment that severs their allegiance to said star, what ensued in the comments section was the exact opposite. “I would never wash my clothes again,” one user said. “Updates bio: “Nicki pushed x1,” another Barb commented. Other responses included, “how does It feel to live my dream,” “Your going to heaven now, congrats,” and “I give anything for the queen to push me.”

An in the end, it was all love with Nicki and the Barbz.
