Drake Supports J. Cole As He Makes His Canadian Elite Basketball League Debut
J. Cole was back on the court as he made his official debut in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
About 3,000 fans packed Toronto’s Sleeman Centre to watch the Dreamville superstar play his first game for the Scarborough Shooting Stars on Thursday against the Guelph Nighthawks. The 6’3″ guard missed his first two shots, but hit his third, a three-pointer, finishing with three points in 15 minutes.
“He wasn’t the best player on the court; he wasn’t the worst,” wrote the Toronto Star. “He was just the most famous, and there’s something admirable about a man of Cole’s stature putting himself out there for all to see and dissect when it’s very much a labour of love.”
Drake, whose manager OVO Niko is one of the CEBL team’s owners, was at home cheering him on. “It’s real @scarboroughshootingstars my brother just checked in ,” he captioned a photo of Cole on his TV screen.
He continued to show his “In the Morning” collaborator love. “COLE WORLD LEGENDARY SHIT first game now,” Drake wrote in an Instagram Story.

The Shooting Stars lost 80-89, but Cole’s presence on the team helped attract a crowd that was 50 percent larger than it might have been in any other year, according to observers.
“Today was a great day for both [teams] and a great day for the league,” Scarborough coach Chris Exilus said. “Cole did a great job and he played his heart out, and I think what he brings is also excitement, and he brings a certain fan base that we want to continue to see the game. I think all those things are great things for everybody.”
Cole previously played pro basketball with the Rwanda Patriots in the Basketball Africa League last year. He scored five points, three assists, and five rebounds in three games but left the tournament ahead of the playoffs due to a “family obligation.”
He is scheduled to play his first home game at the Pan Am Sports Centre on June 4.
Isaiah Rashad Opens Up About Sex Tape Leak, Says He’s ‘Sexually Fluid’
Isaiah Rashad is speaking his truth.
The TDE rapper sat down with Joe Budden for his first interview since a video leaked in February showing him sexually involved with two other men. During their candid conversation, which was released via the Patreon platform, the 31-year-old opened up about how he identifies sexually.
“I’m sexually fluid,” said Rashad, whose family was aware of his sexuality. “I’m not in full control of when I walk into a room who I’m attracted to. And just because I grew up in high school, I dated this type of person, in college I dated this type of person, doesn’t necessarily mean as an adult that it’s gonna always be specific.”
He continued, “I’m more attracted to like a personality, I’m attracted sometimes to the intellect. Sometimes just being attracted to somebody.”
When asked when he discovered his sexuality, he said, “It’s been a gradual thing over the past couple years.”

Rashad, who considers himself monogamous, is currently in a relationship with a woman. “Luckily I date somebody who has a similar understanding of themselves,” he said. “She’s putting me onto a lot of stuff that I didn’t even understand.”
Budden asked whether he’s had to explain the “internet sh*t” to his kids. “Nah, my kid’s six, man, and eight. We do Roblox and Super Why!” he responded.
He’s been focused on his family and has no plans to take legal action against the person who leaked the footage. “I’ve been keeping my mind together. It’s been a time for my family to come together,” said Rashad, whose grandfather died shortly after the tape leaked. “It’s been a concentration of family together, more than they had been before. If anything, I can’t be mad at everything about it. I always gotta look at the brighter side.”

Prior to the interview, Rashad addressed the sex tape leak during his performance at Coachella last month, which included a video montage featuring soundbites from Budden, Boosie Badazz, and The Game, all weighing in on the sex tape.
“I see all the messages and all that sh*t, all the positivity,” he told fans. “Y’all ni**as done kept me alive these last couple months.”
