Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Under Scrutiny Amid New “Vultures 2” Sample Issues

On Saturday, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign surprised fans with the release of their new album, Vultures 2. The project arrived after various delays, and so far, has elicited mixed reactions from fans. While many are enjoying the 16-track LP, others think it left a lot to be desired. Last night, a message on the Yeezy website confirmed that “updated songs will be published in real time.” It’s to be seen whether or not this will satisfy critics.

The music itself isn’t the only thing about Vultures 2 sparking controversy, however. Geoff Barrow of Portishead took to X last night to accuse Ye and Ty of sampling his band’s 2008 song “Machine Gun” without permission. “For f*ck’s sake,” the musician wrote alongside a clip of the song. “Not again 🤷🏼‍♂️.”

Geoff Barrow Of Portishead Calls Out Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign

News of Barrow’s complaints arrives shortly after LA-born artist Swsh called the duo out for allegedly failing to clear a sample with them. “When people keep thanking you for clearing the sample for Kanye but you literally found out this morning lol,” they wrote yesterday, clarifying that they had no idea their work would be used. Luckily, Swsh didn’t appear too upset over the situation, though fans urged them to at least consider seeking financial compensation.

Similarly, Barrow’s fans are encouraging him to take action, with some even suggesting he file a lawsuit against Ye. “Dude, you need to sue the f*cker,” one X user insists. “Jeezus, that’s not even sampling, they just used the entire song for a backing track for some sh*t karaoke. Zero creativity,” another writes. What do you think of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign getting called out once again for another allegedly uncleared Vultures 2 sample? Suge Knight Could Have Prevented 2Pac’s Death, Wack 100 Theorizes

2Pac’s death continues to be one of the most tragic and talked about moments in hip-hop history. The icon passed away in 1996, a few days after falling victim to a drive-by shooting in Vegas. Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the man accused of orchestrating the attack, was taken into police custody last year. He’s been behind bars ever since, awaiting a murder trial.

Amid all of this, one person who’s been particularly vocal about the case is Wack 100. The personality tried to bail Keefe D out last month and was not successful, and has even teased the idea of making a documentary about the alleged perpetrator. Now, Wack has shared his theory on 2Pac’s death, speculating that Suge Knight might have been partially responsible.

Wack 100 Thinks Suge Knight Was “Worried About The Wrong Thing”

During a recent interview with VladTV, Wack 100 claimed that Knight failed to protect 2Pac, despite knowing that he was at risk. He says that the artist’s passing could have been prevented had Knight taken proper security measures. Wack also added that if one of his own artists like Blueface were in a similar situation, he would have made their safety his top priority. “As the one that was supposed to have been leading that, he should have made the right decision,” he explained. “Instead, everybody’s partying and bullsh*tting, and it happened the way it happened […] Suge was too worried about the wrong thing.”

Wack went on, detailing some questionable situations he’s found himself in previously. He also recalled having to make quick choices to ensure the safety of the people he was around. What do you think of Wack 100’s theory about 2Pac’s tragic death? Do you agree that if Suge Knight had made different decisions, it could have been avoided? Lil Wayne’s Handwritten Song Lyrics Go On Sale For $5 Million After Legal Battle

Back in 2019, autograph dealers Moments In Time listed one of Lil Wayne’s old notebooks on sale for $250K. Reportedly, it contains lyrics to tracks like “I Feel” and “We On Fire,” likely written when Weezy was still a teenager. According to the man who discovered the notebook, he found it in an old car previously owned by Cash Money Records and decided to store it in his garage.

When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, however, it was nearly destroyed. He returned home to find that it had survived with minimal damage and decided to sell it to anyone willing to part ways with that kind of cash. Lil Wayne eventually caught wind of the listing, and his attorneys sent a warning letter to the man trying to sell the notebook, claiming that the rapper wanted it back.

Moments In Time Defends Massive Price Increase

The man refused, insisting that Wayne would have to buy it from him, as he had “crystal clear title.” Weezy didn’t respond after that, prompting the court to rule in the seller’s favor. Now, after all the fuss, the same notebook is on sale for a whopping $5 million. According to TMZ, Moments In Time justified the massive price increase by noting that Lil Wayne is the GOAT, making his handwritten lyrics from the 90s extremely valuable.

It’d be tough to argue against that, though it’s unclear how the artist feels about someone else cashing in on his original work. What do you think of Lil Wayne’s old lyric notebook going up for sale for $5 million? What about him previously trying to get the notebook back? Kendrick Lamar’s Leaked Verse For Frank Ocean’s “Nights” Has Fans Split

Kendrick Lamar has been making plenty of headlines in recent months for his viral lyrical battle with Drake. He went viral for a far more surprising reason today, however, as one of his scrapped verses recently surfaced. The verse in question was for Frank Ocean’s “Nights,” and is now making its rounds online.

As expected, the verse is pretty raw and seems to showcase Kendrick experimenting to find a direction before recording a final cut. It’s earned mixed reactions from social media users so far, who are sounding off on X. While some think Kendrick really cooked with this one, and are disappointed that it was left off the record, others are relieved it was.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Nights” Verse Surfaces Online

“I fw Kendrick but sometimes this n***a does bullsh*t on instrumentals and make weird a** voices and people swear it’s experimental,” one user writes, “Sh*t sounds horrible.” Another simply says, “No way people are calling this bad.” Obviously, whether or not Kendrick’s verse would have been a good addition to the iconic track is still up for debate.

It remains unclear exactly why the version of “Nights” featuring Kendrick was never formally released. Of course, it’s possible that Ocean simply felt like he had a hit without it, or that the verse didn’t fit in with the rest of Blonde. Either way, supporters are glad to finally get to hear it, if only to know what could have been.

Social Media Users React To Kendrick Lamar’s Leaked “Nights” Verse
