Charlamagne Tha God Scores Victory Amid Legal Battle With Sexual Assault Accuser

Back in December of 2022, Charlamagne Tha God was hit with a lawsuit from a woman named Jessica Reid, who accused him of sexual assault in 2001. At the time, he was indicted for criminal sexual conduct with a minor as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and accepted a plea deal in 2002. Reid sued the Breakfast Club host and publisher Simon & Schuster over his book Black Privilege. It features his account of the incident and came out in 2017.

Now, Judge Ona T. Wang has sided with Charlamagne and his co-defendant. She granted Simon & Schuster’s motion to dismiss Reid’s defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims. “McKelvey’s recounting of the assault and its aftermath is entirely compatible with plaintiff’s account of the assault except for plaintiff’s allegation that she was able to see McKelvey’s face prior to his sexually assaulting her,” she ruled. “In any event, McKelvey’s account, although self-serving in its version of events, does not ‘expose’ [Reid] ‘to hatred, shame, obloquy, contumely, odium, contempt, ridicule, aversion, ostracism, degradation or disgrace.’”

Judge Wang also cited Reid’s reliance on the New York’s Child Victims Act as an issue. “The CVA does not apply to plaintiff’s defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims against [Simon & Schuster] because defamation and IIED arising out of the publication of a book do not constitute a sexual offense under New York criminal law,” she explained. “Second, even if the CVA did revive time-barred defamation and IIED claims that arise out of an alleged sexual assault, plaintiff’s claims were not timely.”

While most X users agree that this is a solid verse, many are wondering why he and Ty didn’t hold off for another couple of weeks to drop Vultures 2 in its final form. Some of the excitement surrounding the album release has also been overshadowed by some shocking new allegations, coming from none other than Ye’s former Chief of Staff Milo Yiannopoulos.

He accuses the Chicago MC’s dentist, Dr. Thomas Connelly, of providing him with a massive supply of nitrous oxide for recreational use. A screen recording of a worrisome text exchange surfaced earlier this week, which showed Connelly allegedly calling the legalization of recreational nitrous oxide “a long term goal.” Ye then allegedly asked Connelly if he could bring him more of the gas. It’s become the longest trial in Georgia’s state history, and today, the rapper spent his 33rd birthday in prison.

Now, however, republican Fulton County DA candidate Courtney Kramer is promising to dismiss the case if elected. In a letter shared on X today, the former Donald Trump intern expresses outrage over the long-winded legal battle, claiming that ending it will be the first step she takes to “restore justice, transparency, and integrity” to the Office of the District Attorney.

Courtney Kramer Challenges Fani Willis To Dismiss YSL RICO Case And Free Young Thug

“If I am elected as the next District Attorney of Fulton County, I promise to end this prosecution immediately,” the letter reads in part. “I challenge my opponent [Fani Willis] to do the same thing, the right thing, and end this prosecution and release the accused in this case who are being held without bond.” While there are certainly no guarantees here for Young Thug, it’s the first glimmer of hope his fans have seen in a while. The DA election is in November, and Willis has yet to respond to Kramer’s latest challenge.

Kramer’s letter arrived shortly after Trump appeared on Adin Ross’ stream, claiming that Young Thug is being treated unfairly by Willis in his case. “I heard it from other people that he’s being treated unfairly. IShowSpeed Demolishes Travis Scott In A Foot Race: Watch

About a year after Travis Scott advocated for Twitch to unban IShowSpeed, they linked up to settle their speed once and for all. Moreover, Quavo and others looked on as they engaged in a foot race, and as you can see in the clip below, the streamer was able to beat the rapper. Speed was very excited about the whole thing, whereas La Flame had a big smile on his face. Others started to make the typical foot race excuses: “You blocked him,” “You started first,” et cetera, et cetera. All the boastful banter was pretty funny to witness, and it’s at least heartening to see massive celebrities have some more innocent fun.

That’s especially the case for Travis Scott, whose typical idea of fun occurs onstage with thousands of die-hard fans in front of him. For example, Future and Metro Boomin brought him out for their tour stop in Brooklyn, and the results were just as electric as you would expect. With a big run of South American dates slated for the rest of the year, the Houston creative will surely have a lot more fun in 2024.
