Brian McKnight Having Trouble Selling Tickets Possibly Attributed To Falling Out With His Kids

Some people need to keep their personal business off social media. When Brian McKnight let his personal issues out to the world, it seems like there’s a residual effect impacting his wallet.

McKnight’s recent concerts are struggling with low ticket sales, leading to cancellations. Ouch.

Get this, McKnight even had to cancel a performance in Detroit in June due to poor ticket sales, and an upcoming show in Washington, D.C., is also facing dismal sales, with tickets now being offered at a reduced price on Groupon. Oh, wow.

It’s easy to believe this decline in ticket sales is reportedly linked to a boycott by some fans in response to McKnight’s strained relationship with his three eldest children from his first marriage.

McKnight’s relationship with his children, Briana, Niko, and Brian McKnight Jr., has been publicly tumultuous, especially after he praised his current wife and their children in a 2022 social media post mourning the death of his infant son, without mentioning his older children.

In the post, which he may regret or not, McKnight expressed his joy in experiencing parenthood with his current wife, saying, “For the very first time in my life I got to experience what it’s like to want to and plan to have a child made from love.” However, this statement and others have drawn criticism for seeming to overlook his older children, leading to public backlash.

McKnight has defended himself, accusing his ex-wife and children of spreading false narratives about their relationship and emphasizing that his children are now adults, and he is no longer financially responsible for them.

Anyway, like we said, social isn’t always a good thing. Especially when your audience picks a side.

Westside Gunn Claims His Upcoming Album Was Recorded In A Day

Westside Gunn doesn’t take long breaks between albums. The Buffalo rapper has been one of the most prolific artists of the 2020s. He’s dropped five projects in the last two years, in addition to tons of guest features. Gunn has been teasing the release of Fly God Is an Awesome God 3 for months, but he decided to treat the fans to a little something extra on August 18. Westside Gunn took to Instagram to announce that he’ll be dropping another album before Fly God Is an Awesome God 3. This one was reportedly laid down in a single day.

Westside Gunn told fans that he wanted to challenge himself by recording lots of songs in a single session. To see if he still had “it,” as he put it. “I just made this album in a day,” he said in the Instagram video. “I wanted to see if I still had it.” The Griselda star then built up more anticipation by claiming that the release of the untitled album is imminent. “Listen, I’m not even waiting. Westside Gunn Plans To Drop The New Album ASAP

Westside Gunn provided further context for the new album in the captions. He claimed that it came about during the sessions for Fly God Is an Awesome God 3. Evidently, the vibe that was captured in these sessions was so unique that he decided to make it its own thing. “I came here to mix and master my album and was waiting for my files,” he recalled. “So I had played some beats and caught a vibe. [I] told him load it and made a joint. Then made another joint and then made another joint and now 24hrs later i made a new project.”

Westside Gunn is famous for being a proficient emcee in the studio. He talked about his process during a 2022 interview with The Fader. He emphasized the importance of “energy” when it comes to recording good music. “It’s always off energy,” the rapper explained. “That’s why I do it so quick. I’m not a person who’s in the studio four times a week. I might rap five, six times a year, and out of that year you might get two projects.” His math checks out. We can’t wait to hear what both of his 2024 projects sound like.

Nicki Minaj’s Original Verse For Kanye West’s “Monster” Leaks Online

Nicki Minaj’s verse on “Monster” is the stuff of legend. She bodied the likes of Kanye West and JAY-Z, and proved herself to be one of the best female emcees of all time. Today, Minaj’s most vocal critics are in agreeance that she did her thing on the 2010 single. The reverence that the genre has for “Monster” is what makes the recent leak so intriguing. A brief snippet of Nicki Minaj’s original verse leaked online on August 19. The leak is notable because Kanye West claimed to have made the rapper rewrite her verse multiple times.

The snippet is significantly shorter than the final Nicki Minaj verse, but the similarities are obvious. The rhyme scheme is similar, but the opening lines are different. “Go get them eggs and ham, they greener than doc Suess,” she raps. The lines that follow match the final version, with references to “Barbie” and the killer doll Chucky. The delivery, however, is much less eccentric. It’s clear that Nicki Minaj decided to amp up her personality when recording the final version, and it was to the song’s benefit. The “Monster” verse gained relevance again in December 2023, when Kanye West and Nicki Minaj got into a very public spat.

Nicki Minaj’s Verse Was Almost Cut From The Song

Kanye West asked Minaj’s permission to release their collab “New Body,” but the latter refused. West then criticized Minaj during a listening sessions. “I made that girl rewrite her verse 3 times for ‘Monster,’ he stated. “I supported her career. So I don’t know what it is.” Nicki Minaj took to social media to clarify her stance on “New Body” and the rejected clearance. She felt the window for the song had come and gone, since she recorded her verse three years prior.

“Regarding Kanye, that train has left the station,” Minaj explained to her fans. “No disrespect in any way, I just put out a brand new album. Why would I put out a song that’s been out for 3 years? Come on guys.” Ironically, Nicki Minaj had to fight to get “Monster” verse on West’s album back in 2010. “It was like an hour long call where I tried to convince him to let the song stay on his album,” she wrote on IG. “He felt this verse would end up being the talk of the album.” West’s instincts proved correct, and the rest was history.
