Kota The Friend Delivers 10 Tracks On “Lyrics To GO, Vol. 4”

While some artists are taking the first month of 2023 to recover from the holidays and ease back into work, others have been coming in full force with amazing new releases. Among the latter category is Kota the Friend, who shared the fourth installment of his Lyrics to GO series earlier this week.

Landing on Wednesday (January 18), the New Yorker’s latest effort consists of 10 featureless titles. Thus far, some of the most popular among fans are “WALES,” “PENNYWISE,” and “LIFE LESSONS.”

As Rap Radar notes, Kota described his new project as “an album full of soul/house/funk love songs that [he’s] in love with.” The lyricist added, “It made me remember why I love making music.”

Vol. 4 marks the 30-year-old’s first full-length release since last year’s MEMO. Arriving in the summer, the record saw the Friend connect with artists like Briana Castro, Hello O’shay, and Samullimàta across 14 beautiful titles.

Earlier in 2022, he also shared the third volume of Lyrics to GO – also containing 10 featureless tracks. Since its debut, “Dear Fear,” “Bitter,” and “Scapegoat” have become the most popular songs on Spotify.

Following his ninth album’s premiere, Kota has been sharing live performances of some of the titles on his YouTube channel. He began with “FIDDLE LEAF,” and on Friday (January 20), “PENNYWISE” was uploaded to the page.

Burna Bandz Closes Out 2022 With “Bandemic” Album

After a few years of turmoil, we’ve (mostly) made it through the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Burna Bandz is chiefly gearing us up for the Bandemic with his new album.

The project accordingly landed this Friday (December 30). The rapper operates solo across 12 of his titles. On the other three, he enlists help from Casper TNG (“Frustrated”), TallupTwinz (“Ghetto Stories”), and Why G (“Killer Instinct”).

Prior to dropping off the 15-track record, Burna shared a featureless single, “Feel Me,” which has nearly earned 150K streams on Spotify since its debut.

“Why tell me to go when you know you gon’ miss me? / Like who goin’ with you when you going through it?” he asks on the song’s chorus. “I cannot tote nothing unless it hold sixteen / Shots hit his chest and its harder than whiskey.”

Other new titles to come from Bandz on his project include “Art of War,” “Member Zone” and “Heart on Ice,” as well as “Corporate.”

This was an undeniably busy year for the rising star. He previously shared singles like “Shade” and “Benefit” with Yung Tory. Additionally, his Houligan Timing tape saw him work with the likes of Pressa, NorthSideBenji, and Drego.

The album’s most popular titles are “Win” with J Neat and Why G, “A to B,” and finally, “Like a Perc” with Houdini.

It remains unclear exactly what the future holds for BB, though he’s likely to continue to soar to new heights as we enter 2023.

BabyK Osama Drops Off 13 Tracks On “BabyK 3” Project

Plenty of hip-hop legends have returned with new music in the last month of 2022, but this weekend specifically, we’ve been hearing a lot from some of the younger names in the game. Previously today we recommended 20-year-old PGF Nuk’s “Sko” single. Now, we’re finally sharing 19-year-old BabyK Osama’s latest EP for your consideration.

BabyK3 initially landed on Wednesday (December 14). It was preceded by singles like “No Attempts” with Anti Da Menace as well as “All fa da Fame.” Additionally, the Jacksonville native gave fans a music video for the fourth title, “Raq,” along with his release.

The 13-track project boasts two other guest features. One comes from Backstreet TK on “Keep Counting,” and the other from 7milekory on “Kall My Cousin.”

Aside from those, Osama keeps things rolling by himself on titles like “Limbo,” “Last Minute,” and “2AM IN HOUSTON.”

Thus far, “I Miss You” has emerged as a standout track. As he rhymes, BabyK markedly mourns the loss of a fallen friend. Behind him, listeners hear “a brooding, bluesy instrumental carried by a sorrowful bass and whining keyboard.”

In the past, the rising rapper has earned co-signs from names like Yungeen Ace, Jdot Breezy, and GMK. Seeing as his new EP finds him exploring new sonic textures and expanding lyrically, it’s likely that list will only continue to grow.

His own personal influences include Kodak Black and Lil Durk, though he grew up on names like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar.

Zack Fox Returns With Soulful “Wood Tip” EP

If you know anything about Zack Fox, you know that he is one of the funniest people on the planet. He has hosted numerous shows throughout his career, and his Twitter account will always have you laughing. Additionally, Fox has proven himself to be a solid musician. The man has a few hits to his name, including the incredibly catchy “fafo.”

With Christmas just a week away, it would appear as though Fox has a gift for his fans. This early present comes in the form of a four-track EP called “Wood Tip.” Although Fox is mostly a comedian, fans will be very surprised by the direction of this new EP. Instead of delivering his signature hilarious raps, Fox has come through with a soulful project that has an 80s twist to it.

Since this project is only four tracks long, it won’t take you long to get through it. The longest song here is “can’t fight the devil” which comes complete with a feature from Diamond Cafe. Additionally, Diamond Cafe is also on the song “holdin’ on.” For the most part, however, Fox handles the singing by himself. Overall, you may find yourself surprised by just how solid his voice is here.

Fans are already praising the project, and it is easy to see why. The production throughout the project is stunning, and it matches the winter vibe quite nicely. There is a nice bit of replay value here, and if you love this kind of music, then Fox’s latest effort is right up your alley. Moving forward, we hope he continues to explore this sound.

As always, you can stream the new project, down below. Additionally, you can head to the comments section to give your thoughts on this surprising new EP. Furthermore, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.
