Kyrie Irving Gaining Interest From These Sneaker Companies

Kyrie Irving has been dealing with quite a bit as of late. Of course, he lost his deal with Nike following his unfortunate post on social media. Although Kyrie has apologized for his actions, Nike has decided to drop him from the brand. Now, Kyrie will have to look elsewhere for a sneaker deal.

There are plenty of amazing sneaker brands out there. Nike isn’t the only fish in the sea, although they are the biggest one. Having said that, there are plenty of up-and-coming brands that aren’t as mainstream, who could use Kyrie’s services. Simply put, the point guard has options.

Brands Want Kyrie Irving

According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Bally Sports, Kyrie is being pursued by quite a few imprints. For instance, Adidas, New Balance, and Puma are all keeping their eyes on him. Furthermore, independent sneaker brand SIA has already met with Kyrie.

“I can tell you that last week, Irving and his representation did meet with independent sneaker owner SIA, and there’s no imminent decision on whether or not Irving and his team will sign with the company.,” Robinson reported. “But I’m told everybody is paying attention to the Nets point guard. Everybody’s reached out, and that’s including, I’m told, Adidas and others.”

No matter what Kyrie does, there will certainly be people out there who want to follow him. He remains a popular figure, and he has always delivered some dope sneakers. Whether or not another brand can execute his vision, still remains to be seen.

Drake Hilariously Roasts Nike, New Balance, And The Lakers While Hosting The Nike Maxim Awards Show

At this point, Drake has proven that he’s a capable and entertaining host, whether it’s during one of his multiple Saturday Night Live guest-hosting stints or that time he hosted the ESPYs in 2014. Yesterday, he took his talents to Nike. He visited the company’s Oregon campus yesterday (September 9) and it turns out part of the reason he was there was to host the Nike Maxim Awards Show.

He made it fun, too, by throwing some playful jabs at Nike while on stage. Commenting on the longevity of the brand, Drake quipped, “Nike is 50. Nike’s so old, it’s wearing New Balance.” After taking a sip of water, he continued, “Nike turning 50 means LeBron’s going to get you to try to play for the Lakers this year. This is the year where you’re going to walk into a restaurant and see Nike having red wine with Jared Dudley and Carmelo Anthony.”

Of course, he also said some more sincere things about the successful company and all it has achieved over the years.

While Drake was there to honor Nike, he has his own reasons to celebrate, like the fact that he’s the most-searched artist in Shazam history.

Donald Glover Reveals His New Balance Sneaker With Some Funny Animated Short Films

When it comes to sneaker culture, New Balance has long been considered the comfort brand for Saturday-afternoon-errand-running dads (and neo-Nazi white guys), emphasizing comfort over their cool factor. That has begun to change in recent years, though, with the brand signing such pop-culture luminaries as Kawhi Leonard and Jack Harlow, even going as far as pairing the two up in a not-so-subtle reference to Jack’s upcoming star turn in a remake of White Men Can’t Jump.

Now, the sneaker group adds another slick collaboration to its growing collection. Donald Glover, best known as the creator and star of the hit FX series Atlanta, has added to his own expansive resume — which includes music, movies, and stand-up comedy — with the upcoming release of the RC30. Glover previously partnered with Adidas in 2019, but apparently living his own dad life has inspired him to take a run at the official dad shoe brand, resulting in a pair of comfort kicks that suit Donald’s low-key style. According to Joe Grondin, New Balance global collaborations manager, that’s what the brand was going for. In a statement, he said:

“With celebrity-endorsed sneakers coming out every weekend, we thought Donald was a good collaborator for New Balance to take a more considered approach. No loud colors or branding, just classic, easy-to-wear colorways of a new silhouette that fit Donald’s style.”

In addition, Donald directed and shared a collection of animated short films introducing the new silhouette (and taking a clever dig at NFTs) featuring some cute, corporate anthropomorphic animals. Check it out below, along with some shots of the shoe itself.

Jack Harlow And Kawhi Leonard Take Turns Dunking On Each Other In A New Balance Commercial

It seems as though Jack Harlow is tired of getting dunked on by Brandy, so why not let Kawhi Leonard have a turn instead? And while Leonard didn’t play a single game in the 2021-22 NBA season while he was rehabbing a knee injury suffered in the previous season’s playoffs, he showed in a brand new commercial for New Balance kicks that he’s ready to fly — although his defense might need some work before he’s at 100% again.

In the new spot for New Balance’s “We Got Now” campaign that is airing during the NBA playoffs, Harlow and Leonard are squaring off on a hilltop basketball court in a friendly game of one-on-one. Harlow, who’s set to star in the re-boot of White Men Can’t Jump, shows off his handles, before checking the ball to the Los Angeles Clippers star and the game begins. Leonard makes a fancy dribble before throwing down an uncontested dunk. They both sink an outside shot in each other’s face (Harlow with the skyhook!) before both taking the ball to the rack and throwing down a slam dunk. Now Kawhi can dunk in his sleep, but did anyone know that Harlow had that in his arsenal?? The “First Class” rapper is six foot three inches tall, but some people on social media weren’t so sure that this was a regulation hoop.

Is the New Balance ad suggesting Jack Harlow can dunk on a full height rim?,” on Twitter user asked. “There’s absolutely no way in hell jack Harlow can dunk,” another protested. While a third got punny in saying, “Just saw an ad and jack Harlow dunked…? Wtf white men can dunk.”

Either way, the game between the pair was all love and we’ll see what Harlow brings to the Hollywood court in the upcoming flick.

Robinson, who is known for his exquisite use of color, used soft nude and sky blue colors to evoke the warmth of Black homes.

“Inside Voices is the follow up of Outside Clothes, I want my community to feel represented in the emotions and intimate moments captured in my campaigns,” said Joe “Freshgoods” Robinson. “There’s nothing like warmth and laughter shared around a table once you’re inside with your loved ones. Jack Harlow Hates Running In His New Balance Television Ad

Jack Harlow may have shown off his athletic prowess during the recent NBA All-Star weekend B/R Open Run, but he apparently doesn’t exactly enjoy exercise. At least, not judging from his appearance in a recent television advertisement for New Balance. He makes sure to contradict the commercial’s voiceover when it asserts that he loves running before he hits the treadmill. “I hate running,” he insists before allowing, “I love these though,” pointing down at the Fresh Foams.

Harlow, who appears in the ad with professional runners Emma Coburn and Daichi Kamino, has had a busy March. Besides helping his teammate Quavo defeat the size advantage of 2 Chainz and Lil Baby in the Bleacher Report basketball game, he’s making two major performance debuts. First, he and his band took over his living room for a soulful Tiny Desk Concert, and this weekend he’ll be appearing on late-night television with Maya Rudolph to perform on Saturday Night Live.

He’ll do well to keep up that cardio in his new New Balance running shoes as well; Lil Baby recently demanded a rematch — after a reasonable amount of time to train, of course. Maybe Jack will be kind enough to donate a pair to his would-be opponents, because last time, they looked pretty winded after a few plays.
