Druski Reveals How Jack Harlow Gets Him Shoes

In just a few weeks, Druski will embark on his nationwide comedy tour. The “Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda Tour” will begin on March 2 and end on July 15. Including 34 dates in 23 different states and the District of Columbia, this will be his first stand-up comedy tour. But before then, he paid a visit to Complex’s Sneaker Shopping YouTube show. This is the second time he’s been on the show, with his first taking place in October 2020. This time, he and host Joe La Puma hit a sneaker store in Atlanta.

For the first episode of their 17th season of Sneaker Shopping, Complex and Joe had some juicy questions for Druski. First, the two discussed how Druski used to always wear the black and red “Playoffs Bred” Jordan 11 shoes. Druski explained how he always rocked them because they were a gift and he “was broke.” Later on, Druski explained that he can’t wear shoes like Jordan 3s or Adidas Stan Smiths because they aren’t “fat n***a shoes” with support on the side.

Druski & Jack

The most riveting portion of the interview, though, came when La Puma asked Druski about his friendship with Jack Harlow. Druski, who was wearing an orange pair of New Balance 2002R “Refined Future” shoes, said Harlow is his NB supplier. Harlow, who has a shoe deal with New Balance, helps Druski get discounted pairs of sneakers. “He’s definitely something for New Balance, they’re giving him that check,” he said. “He always sends that shipment. I don’t gotta pay too much for New Balance. It’s a good plug to have for sure.”

At the end of the episode, Druski arrived at the counter to buy himself and his three friends a few pairs. After racking up a staggering bill though, he decided to remove his friends’ kicks and only buy shoes for himself and his mother. Decreasing the total from $10,312.83 to $2,395.80, he ended up taking home purple Jordan 4 Retros, Yeezy Boost 700s, Nike x Off-White Dunk Lows, another pair of Nike Dunk Lows, blue New Balances and a Hellstar T-shirt. Sports Super Agent Rich Paul Announces Klutch Athletics in Partnership with New Balance

FY23 S1S2 NB KLUTCH ATHLETICS PRE GAME HOODED TANK

Klutch Athletics, a new Black-owned sportswear company co-authored with New Balance, was just introduced by Rich Paul. The brand will support and assist all athletes through all phases of their athletic careers, including youth, collegiate, and professional sports. No matter their gender or sport, all athletes will receive high-quality training wear as part of Klutch Athletics’ debut line.

“I’m thrilled to create Klutch Athletics to focus on supporting athletes and the communities in which they live and play,” Paul said. “There’s a gap right now that we can fill – creating training product that is functional, but with style. We’ve seen other brands moving away from youth sports and training, so we’re focused on bringing the new look of training for the next generation. And there’s no one better than New Balance to build this with. I have a long history with them, I know we share similar values, and everything they are doing right now from product to athletes to collaborations is leading culture.”

“Together, with Rich Paul and Klutch Athletics, our shared goal is to create a unique product collection and storytelling vision that celebrates the intersection of youth sport and culture,” said New Balance Chief Marketing Officer and SVP of Merchandising Chris Davis. “Rich has deep cultural roots in the world of sport and together we will realize a vision that has yet to be seen by the modern-day athlete. We always strive to take a differentiated approach – this partnership truly exemplifies our independent mindset as a brand.”

The first items in the Klutch Athletics clothing collection will meet the demand for fashionable, functional training attire for men, women, and children. The colors will be drawn from the recognizable greys of New Balance, which fade from the deepest to the lightest gray in the palette and create a fascinating visual story. A hint of green will be added to the greys to reflect the spot on the field of play where young athletes first fell in love with the game.

“Connecting community, athletes and culture is at the heart of this partnership,” said New Balance SVP of Global Apparel Julie Pike. “With this in mind, we created intentional pieces that blend performance and style to deliver training apparel for the next generation of athletes. Our hope is these intentional pieces become the most loved items in the athletes’ wardrobe.”

The garment collection was created with Klutch Athletics Chief Design Officer David Creech and the world-class design team at New Balance.

“We designed the line to help athletes perform their best and look good while doing it,” Creech said. “It will deliver products for all athletes, regardless of sport or gender. We understand what athletes want – product that helps them perform while reflecting the love they have for sport and their community. Every design element of Klutch Athletics apparel has a story, from the branding to the color palette to the product details – everything has a purpose.”

Starting on April 27, customers may buy the first clothing collection from Klutch Athletics online and at a few chosen retailers. For t-shirts, suggested retail prices range from $40 to $120.

You can preview the pieces below.

Kyrie Irving Gaining Interest From These Sneaker Companies

Kyrie Irving has been dealing with quite a bit as of late. Of course, he lost his deal with Nike following his unfortunate post on social media. Although Kyrie has apologized for his actions, Nike has decided to drop him from the brand. Now, Kyrie will have to look elsewhere for a sneaker deal.

There are plenty of amazing sneaker brands out there. Nike isn’t the only fish in the sea, although they are the biggest one. Having said that, there are plenty of up-and-coming brands that aren’t as mainstream, who could use Kyrie’s services. Simply put, the point guard has options.

Brands Want Kyrie Irving

According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Bally Sports, Kyrie is being pursued by quite a few imprints. For instance, Adidas, New Balance, and Puma are all keeping their eyes on him. Furthermore, independent sneaker brand SIA has already met with Kyrie.

“I can tell you that last week, Irving and his representation did meet with independent sneaker owner SIA, and there’s no imminent decision on whether or not Irving and his team will sign with the company.,” Robinson reported. “But I’m told everybody is paying attention to the Nets point guard. Everybody’s reached out, and that’s including, I’m told, Adidas and others.”

No matter what Kyrie does, there will certainly be people out there who want to follow him. He remains a popular figure, and he has always delivered some dope sneakers. Whether or not another brand can execute his vision, still remains to be seen.

Let us know which brand you think Kyrie should work with, down in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for updates on this developing story.

Drake Hilariously Roasts Nike, New Balance, And The Lakers While Hosting The Nike Maxim Awards Show

At this point, Drake has proven that he’s a capable and entertaining host, whether it’s during one of his multiple Saturday Night Live guest-hosting stints or that time he hosted the ESPYs in 2014. Yesterday, he took his talents to Nike. He visited the company’s Oregon campus yesterday (September 9) and it turns out part of the reason he was there was to host the Nike Maxim Awards Show.

He made it fun, too, by throwing some playful jabs at Nike while on stage. Commenting on the longevity of the brand, Drake quipped, “Nike is 50. Nike’s so old, it’s wearing New Balance.” After taking a sip of water, he continued, “Nike turning 50 means LeBron’s going to get you to try to play for the Lakers this year. This is the year where you’re going to walk into a restaurant and see Nike having red wine with Jared Dudley and Carmelo Anthony.”

Of course, he also said some more sincere things about the successful company and all it has achieved over the years.

While Drake was there to honor Nike, he has his own reasons to celebrate, like the fact that he’s the most-searched artist in Shazam history.

Check out clips of Drake’s hosting gig above and below.

Donald Glover Reveals His New Balance Sneaker With Some Funny Animated Short Films

When it comes to sneaker culture, New Balance has long been considered the comfort brand for Saturday-afternoon-errand-running dads (and neo-Nazi white guys), emphasizing comfort over their cool factor. That has begun to change in recent years, though, with the brand signing such pop-culture luminaries as Kawhi Leonard and Jack Harlow, even going as far as pairing the two up in a not-so-subtle reference to Jack’s upcoming star turn in a remake of White Men Can’t Jump.

Now, the sneaker group adds another slick collaboration to its growing collection. Donald Glover, best known as the creator and star of the hit FX series Atlanta, has added to his own expansive resume — which includes music, movies, and stand-up comedy — with the upcoming release of the RC30. Glover previously partnered with Adidas in 2019, but apparently living his own dad life has inspired him to take a run at the official dad shoe brand, resulting in a pair of comfort kicks that suit Donald’s low-key style. According to Joe Grondin, New Balance global collaborations manager, that’s what the brand was going for. In a statement, he said:

“With celebrity-endorsed sneakers coming out every weekend, we thought Donald was a good collaborator for New Balance to take a more considered approach. No loud colors or branding, just classic, easy-to-wear colorways of a new silhouette that fit Donald’s style.”

In addition, Donald directed and shared a collection of animated short films introducing the new silhouette (and taking a clever dig at NFTs) featuring some cute, corporate anthropomorphic animals. Check it out below, along with some shots of the shoe itself.

Jack Harlow And Kawhi Leonard Take Turns Dunking On Each Other In A New Balance Commercial

It seems as though Jack Harlow is tired of getting dunked on by Brandy, so why not let Kawhi Leonard have a turn instead? And while Leonard didn’t play a single game in the 2021-22 NBA season while he was rehabbing a knee injury suffered in the previous season’s playoffs, he showed in a brand new commercial for New Balance kicks that he’s ready to fly — although his defense might need some work before he’s at 100% again.

In the new spot for New Balance’s “We Got Now” campaign that is airing during the NBA playoffs, Harlow and Leonard are squaring off on a hilltop basketball court in a friendly game of one-on-one. Harlow, who’s set to star in the re-boot of White Men Can’t Jump, shows off his handles, before checking the ball to the Los Angeles Clippers star and the game begins. Leonard makes a fancy dribble before throwing down an uncontested dunk. They both sink an outside shot in each other’s face (Harlow with the skyhook!) before both taking the ball to the rack and throwing down a slam dunk. Now Kawhi can dunk in his sleep, but did anyone know that Harlow had that in his arsenal?? The “First Class” rapper is six foot three inches tall, but some people on social media weren’t so sure that this was a regulation hoop.

Is the New Balance ad suggesting Jack Harlow can dunk on a full height rim?,” on Twitter user asked. “There’s absolutely no way in hell jack Harlow can dunk,” another protested. While a third got punny in saying, “Just saw an ad and jack Harlow dunked…? Wtf white men can dunk.”

Either way, the game between the pair was all love and we’ll see what Harlow brings to the Hollywood court in the upcoming flick.

Jack Harlow is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
