Gilbert Arenas Gets Honest About Previous Generations Of The NBA

Gilbert Arenas is someone who is brutally honest whenever he speaks. Even if you disagree with his opinions, it is clear that he has a lot of passion for the game of basketball. Overall, he does not care who he may offend whenever he speaks. Moreover, he has been able to build a large platform with his podcast. On this shoe, Arenas is able to give as many hot takes as possible in an unregulated fashion. This is certainly a style that fits his personality, and it has led to some great banter over the years.

As it pertains to basketball discourse, much has been made about the previous generations and how they compare to today. Every single day it feels like some old head is calling the new generation of NBA stars “soft.” Furthermore, players like LeBron get called out for “not being able to survive in the 80s.” Of course, these are ridiculous notions as we never got to see LeBron in the 80s. At the end of the day, this discourse is simply not productive, and Arenas is a bit sick of it.

Gilbert Arenas Pulls No Punches

In a recent episode of his No Chill podcast, Arenas set the record straight about the difference between the eras. In his eyes, the 80s cannot hold a candle to the basketball that was played in the 90s and eventually the 2000s. Moreover, he would even extend that to today as he finds that the current game is amazing. He even took a swipe at Bill Laimbeer, noting that he would never be able to defend the young guys playing now. “80s cannot compete with 90s, 2000s, and now. It is a pointless argument. Bill Laimbeer cannot play basketball today, his defense does not work today,” Arenas professed.

This is one of those hot takes that will rub oldheads the wrong way. After all, the generation wars have been heating up quite a bit. This is especially true now that LeBron has the record for most points in the history of the NBA. Let us know if you think Arenas is correct, in the comments below. Anthony Davis Has Interesting Reaction To Russell Westbrook Signing

Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the league when he is healthy. Over the past two seasons, he, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook could have been a big three. However, they weren’t exactly cut out for each other. Of course, we know what AD and LeBron are capable of. Although, when it came to Russ, it was very clear that he didn’t fit in with the team. As a result, we were hit with some pretty pathetic basketball. The fans in Los Angeles ended up turning on Russ, and the rest was history. Consequently, he was traded at the deadline.

Since then, Russ has been bought out by the Utah Jazz. This allowed Russ to become a free agent who could go anywhere he wants. In the end, he decided to remain in Los Angeles, albeit with the Clippers. This is great news for the Clippers, who desperately needed a point guard. Furthermore, it reinvigorates the battle of Los Angeles, as Westbrook can go on a revenge tour of sorts. As for the actual players on the Lakers, they do not seem to care about this new development.

Anthony Davis Reacts

While speaking to the media about Russ going to the Clippers, AD didn’t have much to say. As you will see, he isn’t even sure how Westbrook will help the team. “I’m not part of that team. I have no idea what their locker room is like, what their chemistry is like,” Davis said. “Honestly, I don’t really watch the Clippers like that… I got three kids. I don’t have time to.” From there, AD gave a bit more of a fleshed-out answer, noting that the Clippers were a team in need of a point guard. However, Davis still doesn’t know how it will work out for them. “I know they got rid of John (Wall) and Reggie (Jackson), so he’s another point guard for them,” Davis noted. “I’m not sure how [coach Tyronn Lue] will utilize him, but I’m pretty sure he’s happy to stay in LA.”

Overall, it is going to be interesting to track the Clippers, moving forward. They are a team that has a lot of pressure to succeed. Now, Russ will be inheriting that pressure which could go very badly. No matter what, it is going to be a lot of fun to watch. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the sports world.

Jalen Rose Attempts To Recruit Bronny James Jr.

Jalen Rose was famous for his NBA career, although there is no doubt that he was famous in college as well. Rose was part of the “Fab 5” over at Michigan. Overall, they were an amazing basketball team that is still heralded to this day. As a direct result of his time in college, Rose is quite fond of college hopes. Consequently, he gets to sound off on the college game while covering basketball for ESPN. In just a month from now, he will get to give his takes on March Madness. For now, however, he is giving his opinion on a young hooper set to take the college world by storm, next season.

Of course, we are talking about none other than Bronny James Jr. Bronny just finished up his final season at Sierra Canyon. Subsequently, he will have to decide where he is going to go to school. There are plenty of schools that want him, including Ohio State, USC, and even Oregon. Moreover, he is being given NBA cache as ESPN just put him in the Top 10 of their 2024 NBA mock draft.

Jalen Rose Speaks

In the clip above from This Just In with Max Kellerman, Jalen Rose was able to speak on Bronny getting this look. Overall, he thinks it is great to see Bronny get recognized. Furthermore, he went into recruiter mode. As you can see, Rose wants James to go to Michigan. However, he understands that probably won’t happen. Instead, Rose would like for Bronny to go to Ohio State so he can go do what his dad was never able to do. It would be a great spot for Bronny, and we’re sure all of the Buckeyes fans out there would agree.

Moving forward, Bronny has very big decisions to make. No matter what, his future does seem set in stone as LeBron wants to play with him. This will entice teams to take him in the draft. Regardless, he has proven to be a very solid player, and we can’t wait to see what else he does on the floor. Stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the basketball world.

Stephen A. Smith Reveals Who Faces The Most Pressure To Win An NBA Title This Year

Stephen A. Smith is certainly one of the best personalities over at ESPN. In fact, one could make the argument that he is the best personality in all of sports media. Overall, he is known for his work on First Take. However, at this point, he should be credited with keeping ESPN afloat. He is a guest on practically all of their programs, and that will not change for a long time. After all, they are paying the man close to $10 million per year, which is a very large chunk of change.

When it comes to Smith, his expertise is definitely in the world of the NBA. Now that the NFL is done for the season, Smith has more opportunities to talk about basketball. On today’s episode of First Take, that is exactly what he did with JJ Redick and Chris Russo by his side. With All-Star done, the conversation has subsequently shifted to which team is going to win the title. Consequently, this has also led to some discourse about who is facing the most pressure. In order to make it simple, Smith created a list.

Stephen A. Concocts A New List

This top five list was based on who is facing the most pressure to come through and win an NBA title. Number five on the list was Kawhi Leonard, while number four was Nikola Jokic. Additionally, Jayson Tatum was at three, James Harden was at two, and number one was Chris Paul. Redick thought this was the perfect list for numerous reasons. Overall, Paul needs a title for his legacy, as does Harden. Moreover, Jayson Tatum needs to exercise the demons from last season’s NBA Finals. As for Jokic and Kawhi, well, one needs to live up to his MVP self, while the other hasn’t done much in Los Angeles.

Chris “Mad Dog” Russo was not a huge fan of the list, claiming Kevin Durant needed to be at the top. However, as Smith pointed out, Durant has won two Finals MVPs and two rings. With that in mind, there isn’t really much pressure on him at all. Let us know what you think of Smith’s take, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the basketball world.

Tristan Thompson Provides Sobering Update On Lonzo Ball’s Injury

If you are a Chicago Bulls fan, then you are certainly worried about the health of none other than Lonzo Ball. Ball is someone who was a huge contributor to the team last year. Overall, the Bulls were at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, and they were looking like true contenders. However, Lonzo eventually went down with a knee injury, and it became a massive issue for the Bulls. They immediately regressed, all while Ball began a rehab process that has turned into a complete disaster.

Months after his first surgery, it was revealed that Lonzo was still feeling pretty awful. According to reports, the point guard was not getting better at a rate that made sense. Consequently, the team opted to give Lonzo yet another surgery. However, this didn’t help either. Ball still can’t run or jump, and the team has shut him down for the remainder of the season. It’s a sobering development that is hard to fathom. Overall, Lonzo’s condition remains a mystery, and it seems like even the doctors themselves are confused.

Critical Lonzo Update

According to reporter Daniel Greenberg, Tristan Thompson had an update about Ball on ESPN. Essentially, Thompson spoke with Lonzo’s agent and got a very interesting response. In his report, Thompson revealed that Ball has gone all across the country to speak with doctors. Pretty well every single doctor has been stunned by his condition. They even say it is a “unique injury that they have never seen before.” This is very scary stuff for both Lonzo and the Bulls organization. At this point, there is no telling if and when he will come back. It’s unfortunate, and it’s hard not to feel empathy for Lonzo.

Typically, injuries are things that doctors have seen before. If a guy tears his ACL or tears his Achilles, it becomes clear what needs to be done. For Ball, however, there is no telling what the cure for him might be. Hopefully, he is able to figure it out soon. This is a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the NBA world.

JJ Redick Had Stephen A. Smith Stuttering During LeBron Debate

JJ Redick has quickly become one of the best NBA personalities on ESPN. Although he wasn’t a massive superstar, he still has a great eye for the game. Overall, his analysis is typically always spot on, and he has very little patience for bad hot takes. Furthermore, he hates it when previous decades of NBA basketball are elevated over the current era. Redick knows just how hard it is to be effective now, and he makes that clear whenever he speaks. Even if people like Chris “Mad Dog” Russo disagree, you will always see Redick advocating for his position.

The show that Redick truly shines on, however, is none other than First Take. Although this is Stephen A. Smith’s show, there is no doubt that Redick always steals the spotlight. This is because he and Smith engage in some pretty testy debates. The vast majority of the time, Redick comes out on top with empirical evidence. Overall, this leaves Smith dumbfounded as he will just move the goalposts to fit his position. On Tuesday, Redick called him out for doing just that.

JJ Redick Dominates Debate

In the clips above, Smith and Redick were debating about whether or not it is bad for LeBron’s legacy if he misses the playoffs this year. Smith said it would be a hit, while Redick argued it wouldn’t be. That’s when Redick asked if MJ going 37-45 with the Wizards was a blemish on his record. Consequently, Smith didn’t have much to say and immediately began to stutter as he wasn’t sure where to go with it. Subsequently, Redick told Smith that he is constantly moving the goalposts in relation to LeBron. Stephen A. did not take too kindly to this, although he didn’t offer much in terms of a rebuttal.

It was yet another instance of just how amazing Redick is at his job. He knows how to deliver good TV and he is showing no signs of slowing down. In many ways, he is ESPN’s NBA version of Dan Orlovsky. A rising star that people love to watch analyze the game. Let us know what you think of the job Redick has done, in the comments down below.

ESPN Reveals Why Bronny James Jr. Is Top 10 In 2024 Mock Draft

Bronny James Jr. is easily the biggest name in the entire high school basketball scene. This has been true over the last three years. Overall, it is very easy to see why this is the case. After all, Bronny is the son of LeBron James. Moreover, LeBron has made it clear that he wants to play on the same court as Bronny. This means whoever drafts Bronny will also likely get LeBron. This puts a lot of pressure on the 18-year-old to succeed, as a ton of people have him pegged for the biggest league in the world.

Moving forward, James has a big decision to make as it pertains to where he will go to school. There are plenty of options for him out there. Although, it seems like Oregon, USC, and Ohio State are the three teams that he is taking a closer look at. Either way, the young star has big expectations to live up to, and the recent mock draft from ESPN is not making it any easier. As you can see in the tweet below, Bronny is now projected to be a top-10 pick. In this particular draft, Bronny would be on the Orlando Magic.

Bronny Going Top 10?

According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Bronny is well-deserving of this spot in the mock draft. Of course, because of who Bronny is, many were shocked by the high ranking. Although, Givony gave a good explanation as to why the oldest James brother would end up so high. “Bronny James is now a projected top-10 pick thanks to the significant jump he’s made at Sierra Canyon, developing into arguably the best perimeter defender in his class while making strides with his shooting and playmaking,” he wrote.

Overall, it is clear that Bronny is being heralded for his abilities as a two-way player. While he is by no means the best scorer in his class, he can definitely prove himself as a solid point guard. Hopefully, he has a great season in college that proves to NBA scouts that he is, indeed, the real deal. Let us know what you think of the ESPN ranking, in the comments below.

Patrick Beverley Sends Warning To The Lakers

Patrick Beverley started the season on the Los Angeles Lakers. Initially, fans were very excited to have him on the team thanks to his toughness and defense. However, he was unable to live up to some of the expectations. Moreover, with the Lakers floundering in the Western Conference, it became clear that the team just needed to move on. Consequently, the team shopped him around at the deadline. The Orlando Magic eventually took him in, all while giving up Mo Bamba. Subsequently, Beverley was bought out and became a free agent this week.

In the end, Beverley decided to go and sign with the Chicago Bulls. There were a couple of teams that were considering Beverley. Ultimately, he had the last choice and went with the Bulls. During an episode of his podcast, Pat Bev stated that he considered the Golden State Warriors. However, he chose the Bulls because it is his hometown. Moreover, he felt as though he had a better chance of making a playoff run. Simply put, Beverley is locked in and is ready to get his new team into the postseason.

Patrick Beverley Speaks

Hilariously, Beverley has a side mission in all of this. While speaking on the latest episode of his show, Pat Bev has made it clear that he wants to keep the Lakers out of the playoffs. The Bulls have two more games against the Lakers before the end of the season, and the point guard is already circling those two dates. “Oh, we play the Lakers twice,” Beverley said. “[I want to] knock ’em out the playoffs. … Yeah, we got to get in the playoffs so excuse us. Like, a little scooch.”

The Lakers are a team that needs to win at least two-thirds of its remaining games in order to make it to the postseason. This is definitely a lot easier said than done, however, the new-look Lakers could definitely get it done. As for Beverley’s Bulls, it remains to be seen how good they will really be. After all, the Bulls are a team that has struggled this season. Only time will tell how this all plays out.

Trae Young Blamed After Hawks Fire Head Coach

Trae Young is easily one of the best point guards in the entire NBA. However, he has certainly had his fair share of issues throughout the season. Ultimately, these issues have seemingly been due to head coach Nate McMillan. Overall, there have been numerous times in which these two have clashed with one another. Moreover, it has led to reports that the Hawks would fire McMillan. In fact, there was a sense that McMillan could even step down on his own. Needless to say, not a good look for Young.

This season has not been great for the Hawks. They are a team that is most likely going to participate in the play-in round. Overall, this is not great when you consider how the Hawks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals just a few years ago. It was believed that the Hawks could help run the East for years. Furthermore, the addition of Dejounte Murray had many believing in this team’s backcourt. However, after a stretch of mediocre performances, the Hawks decided to officially fire Nate McMillan on Tuesday night.

Hawks Fire McMillan

This is one of those decisions that everyone saw coming. Now, there are plenty of names being considered for the Hawks job. Although fans really want Ime Udoka to step in, it seems clear that he will not be considered. Instead, the Hawks are tasked with finding someone who can work well alongside Trae Young. Unfortunately for Young, he is being seen as the scapegoat for McMillan’s firing. After seeing multiple coaches get fired during Young’s short tenure with the team, he is being labeled as a “Coach Killer.”

In the tweets down below, you can see plenty of memes and comments suggesting he is directly responsible for his team’s recent decision. In fact, former NBA coach George Karl even weighed in, saying “It’s a Trae Young vs a Nikola Jokic League. Me first vs We first.” This is a bad reputation to have, and Young will have to work very hard to get rid of it. Let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section down below.

Charles Barkley Gives His Take On NBA GOAT Debate

Charles Barkley is one of the best players to ever step on an NBA court. Although he is not a top 10 player, most would put him solidly in their top 20. Had he won an NBA championship or gone to more NBA Finals, he probably would be higher. However, Barkley still had an amazing career that cannot be discounted. He had some pretty wild numbers throughout his reign in the league, and he will always be respected by real basketball fans. That said, Barkley is still a controversial figure thanks to his person on TNT.

Over the years Barkley has been forced to give his opinion on the dreaded GOAT debate that we know all too well at this point. Every single day, it feels like someone is asked who the best between LeBron and Michael Jordan is. Furthermore, this is especially true now that James officially has the record for most points in NBA history. Everyone wants to give their hot takes on this topic, while every analyst is being sought out for their opinion.

Charles Barkley Weighs In

When it comes to Barkley, he is taking a more measured approach than he used to take in the past. Instead of scoffing at the idea of LeBron being the GOAT, Barkley is acknowledging that James has led his entire generation. “Kareem was the greatest in his generation, MJ was the greatest in his generation, and LeBron’s been the greatest in his generation. You can’t compare eras. It’s impossible,” Barkley said. All things considered, this is actually quite a bit of growth from Barkley. Clearly, LeBron has taught him that anyone can become the GOAT, regardless of the era they played in.

Of course, the GOAT debate is one of those subjective conversations that doesn’t actually mean all that much. At the end of the day, fans just want to enjoy the games. All of that legacy talk just takes away from the sport that everyone loves. That said, let us know who you think is the GOAT, down in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.
