Vince Staples Postpones His Limbo Beach Carnival Due To Overwhelming Demand

Earlier this week, Vince Staples announced the Limbo Beach Carnival in Long Beach to celebrate the release of his Z2 comic book, also called Limbo Beach. However, today, just one day from the event’s scheduled date, Vince informed fans via social media that the carnival and book signing has been postponed. According to the hometown hero, the response to his initial announcement was so overwhelming that the city asked him to find a different venue.

For what it’s worth… yeah, I can see that. El Dorado Park is absolutely gorgeous but crowd control could have been an utter nightmare. No one wants another artist-backed event to end in tragedy. Vince advised that, while he and his team work to make a “bigger and better” event to accommodate a larger space, anyone who purchased a book through the event’s Eventbrite page will be refunded immediately. Good thing I pre-ordered mine almost a year ago.

Limbo Beach is written by Vince along with industry vets Bryan Edward Hill (who’s worked on DC’s Batman & The Outsiders and Titans and editor Chris Robinson (Marvel’s Children Of The Atom). It’s illustrated by Buster Moody, who’s best known for Godzilla In Hell (come on, that just sounds rad) and IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the one based on the most recent Nickelodeon series). Vince is also fresh off the release of his new album, Ramona Park Broke My Heart.

Gunna Surrenders And Is Booked In The Racketeering Case Against YSL Records

Gunna has surrendered and was booked into the Fulton County Jail today after being charged with racketeering on Monday along with 27 other members of his label, YSL Records, including the label’s founder, Young Thug. Prosecutors are calling YSL — Young Stoner Life — a criminal street gang. According to the Atlanta Constitution-Journal, Gunna — real name Sergio Kitchens — is charged with a single count of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Overall, 56 counts (including armed robbery and murder) were issued to the 28 suspects in the case in an 88-page indictment that includes multiple instances of Young Thug’s lyrics.

Gunna is fresh off the release of his second No. 1 album, DS4EVER, which was released in January of this year and led by the trend-sparking single, “Pushin P,” which also featured Young Thug. Gunna’s promotion for the album included a performance of the song on Saturday Night Live, as well as participating in a sketch begging for Netflix to include a “short-ass movies” category — a request to which the streaming platform happily obliged. Other companies also adopted his “Pushin P” slang, showing how much his profile had risen in the years since he and Lil Baby teamed up to release Drip Harder. Unfortunately, he could now see his career derailed by the ongoing RICO case, in which some members of YSL could be facing life in prison.

Lil Uzi Vert Says He’s ‘Going Back To Classic Mode’ For His New Music

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve received a solo project from Lil Uzi Vert. While he’s given us several fire features, as well a collaborative mixtape with Future, Uzi hasn’t given us a full-length project of his own since 2020’s Eternal Atake. Yesterday, Uzi took to his Instagram story to give us an update on his new music.

“This time less talkin’ more working,” said Uzi. “Going back in classic mode. I been [through] 2 much this time around. Nothin’ can break me.”

Uzi may be referring to The Pink Tape, his long-anticipated follow-up album to Eternal Atake. He first announced The Pink Tape last year, teasing it all throughout 2021. While attending an event at the 40/40 club last year, Uzi said of the album, “…it’s going through the mixing process right now because last time I dropped an album, it did really well,” Uzi said. “[Eternal Atake] was actually my highest-selling album but it was a little bit experimental on the mixing part, not the actual music, so this time, I went experimental with the music and traditional on the mixing.”

While it was originally planned for October of last year, Uzi revealed he is deciding to take his time on The Pink Tape to make sure “it won’t suck.

Post Malone Teases ‘Cooped Up,’ A Roddy Ricch Collaboration That’s Coming This Week

A few weeks ago, Post Malone took to Instagram Live to share quick previews of some upcoming music. One of those was “Cooped Up,” a collaboration with Roddy Ricch. Now, Malone has offered a more official teaser and noted the song is coming this week.

The 30-second teaser video doesn’t reveal much: None of the song can be heard and it mostly features footage of Malone smoking in the dark. The caption is where the info comes from, as Malone offers the song’s release date, writing, “Cooped Up with @RoddyRicch Thursday 12pm ET.”

The song is a meeting of chart champions, as Malone has four No. 1 singles to his name, his latest being 2019’s “Circles.” Ricch had his first (and so far, only) No. 1 single the next year when “The Box” topped the Hot 100. This won’t be their first collaboration, as Ricch (and Tyga) featured on a remix of Malone’s “Wow.”

The new single is set to appear on Twelve Carat Toothache, which currently has a June 3 release date. That’s not the only major life event Posty has on the horizon: He’s getting ready to perform on Saturday Night Live and become a father.

Gucci Mane Gave A Fan $5,000 After They Returned A Jewelry Bracelet That He Lost During A Show

At any given moment, you’ll most likely catch Gucci Mane with a neck and/or wrist flooded with diamonds. The Atlanta trap star has never been shy to show off his collection of jewelry and extremely expensive watches. So it would make sense that Gucci would be quite grateful if he lost one of those items all for it to be swiftly returned to him, and that’s exactly what happened at a recent show of his. During a past club appearance, Gucci decided to turn up with the crowd, but it was during this time that he lost one of his jewelry bracelets.

Luckily for Gucci, the bracelet was returned to him by a good samaritan not too long after he lost it, and he showed his gratitude with a generous gift. After the bracelet was given to him, Gucci took out $5,000 in cash to give to the fan as a way to show his appreciation. “I was f*cked up when I felt like it came off my wrist,” Gucci said at one point during the night.

Gucci’s display of appreciation comes as he’s turned up his activeness on the music front. It’s highlighted by a collection of songs he’s dropped this year: “Rumors” with Lil Durk, “Publicity Stunt,” “Blood All On It” with Young Dolph and Key Glock, and “Serial Killers.”

Denzel Curry Called Himself ‘The Best Rapper Alive,’ And As A Result, IDK Wants To Battle

Denzel Curry is a little over a month removed from the release of his fifth album Melt My Eyez See Your Future. The project was his first release since 2021’s Unlocked 1.5 with Kenny Beats and his first solo effort since 2019’s Zuu. Through the 14 songs on Melt My Eyez See Your Future, Curry gets help from Robert Glasper, T-Pain, 6lack, Rico Nasty, JID, Slowthai, and more. Curry seems to be feeling very confident after his fifth album, and he made it quite clear during a recent interview with XXL.

“Just look out for me,” Curry said during the sit-down. “Look out for any of the next projects that’s ’bout to come out. I’m ’bout to shake the whole game up. I don’t care what anybody gotta say, bro. I’m the best rapper alive. Point blank, period.” While Curry is completely in his right to believe that, one of his frequent collaborators, DMV rapper IDK, isn’t about to let him claim the title without a fight. IDK responded to Curry’s comments on Twitter, writing, “Battle me @denzelcurry.”

Curry wouldn’t take long to issue a response to IDK, writing back, “You don’t want that homie.”

Curry and IDK’s back and forth comes after they collaborated on the Kaytranada-produced “Dog Food.”

DJ Khaled Gave Erik Spoelstra An In-Game Shoulder Rub During Game 5 Of Heat-Sixers

The Miami Heat played host to the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal series on Tuesday night. With things tied up in the series at 2-2, the game was of the upmost importance for both teams, as a win would put them on the verge of making the conference finals.

Because the game took place in Miami, the fans were raucous and clad in white shirts, something that has become commonplace when they host playoff games. One fan did not follow along with that, though: DJ Khaled, who had a seat right near Miami’s bench.

At one point in the third quarter, the ball went out of bounds behind Khaled, and he decided to spring into action. After making sure he gave the ball to Max Strus, Khaled started clapping, which got the crowd fired up. He then walked up the sideline towards the middle of the scorer’s table, but because he is not allowed to check in due to his not being a basketball player, Khaled turned around and went back to his seat. Before he could do that, though, he had to walk past Erik Spoelstra, to whom he gave a quick shoulder rub.

Between this and his airball during Heat-Hawks, it’s been quite the postseason for DJ Khaled.

YG’s Las Vegas Robbery Case Was Dismissed After He And The Alleged Victim Reached A Settlement

Nearly four years after the incident occurred, YG can finally put a past legal situation in his rearview mirror. Back in 2018, YG was hit with felony robbery charges following an altercation that took place in June of that year at Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino. In this situation, a man accused YG of stealing his gold chain and diamond pendant during an altercation at the casino, and as a result, he filed a $250,000 lawsuit against the rapper. After charges were later filed and an arrest warrant was issued, YG turned himself on robbery charges and was later released after posting $20,000 bail.

Now, YG will avoid facing any time or criminal punishment for the robbery case as the case was dismissed after he and the alleged victim reached a settlement in the matter. It was confirmed by Billboard, who said that the rapper’s settlement with the victim was undisclosed at the moment. The publication also attained a statement from YG’s lawyer Joe Tacopina. “Whether by dismissal or by trial, the result was always going to be the same,” he said. “YG is not guilty. This decision is simply expedited justice.”

The settlement comes after YG teamed up with J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo for “Scared Money,” a track that YG also performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Chloe Shows Off Her Vocals And Presents A New Point Of View In Her Cover Of Capella Grey’s ‘Gyalis’

In addition to making her solo debut with the bouncy “Have Mercy,” Chloe Bailey’s 2021 year was filled with impressive covers of songs by a wide array of artists. She took on Adele’s “Easy On Me,” Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open,” Cardi B’s “Be Careful, Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain,” Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” and Drake’s “Marvin’s Room.” Fresh off releasing her second single as a solo artist, that being the provocative “Treat Me,” Chloe has found time to treat her fans to another cover. This time she takes on Capella Grey’s 2021 summer hit “Gyalis.”

Chloe’s rendition of “Gyalis” is a bit more than a cover and she remixes the song a bit so that it can be sung from a female’s point of view. While the original song’s lyrics read, “Fake like she asleep / Swear she tried to stay the whole week / I’m like “Oh, nah, she gotta go”, uh / Ask me her name, I swear I don’t even f*ckin’ know,” Chloe gives her side in the matter on the cover.

“He’s tryna fake like he asleep / Thought I didn’t hear him come in, please,” Chloe sings. “I’m like, ‘Oh nah, he gotta go’ / See you again? Oh no, baby that’s not what I want.”

Capella Grey showed love towards Chloe’s cover of “Gyalis” by reposting the video on his own Instagram page.

You can listen to Chloe’s cover-slash-remix of “Gyalis” in the video above.

DaniLeigh Opens Up About Her ‘Toxic’ Relationship With DaBaby: ‘We Broke Up A Lot’

At the end of 2020, DaniLeigh and DaBaby made their relationship official with intimate Instagram posts that they shared on their respective accounts. Almost a year later, any sign of that relationship continuing crashed and burned as the two artists engaged in a public and heated argument on Instagram Live. Things only got worse afterward, as just a few months later, videos on social media captured DaBaby and DaniLeigh’s brother engaged in a fight at a Los Angeles bowling alley. After staying silent about anything DaBaby-related for the past few months, DaniLeigh decided to speak out about their past relationship in a new interview.

In a sit-down with Angie Martinez, DaniLeigh discussed the “on and off” relationship she had with DaBaby. “It was toxic,” she said. “We had our really good times. We were in love. He had his little mess-ups and stuff, so we’d break up for a month and then get back together… We broke up a lot.”

The interview arrives after DaniLeigh released “Dead To Me,” a song that speaks about the “toxic energy” she experienced in a past relationship, presumably with DaBaby. In the song, she says, “You f*cking all these h*es/Thinking I wouldn’t know/You played me like a fool, lil baby/Got a b*tch thinking I’m crazy.”

His relationship with DaniLeigh is not the only controversial thing that DaBaby has been involved in as of late. He recently avoided charges for shooting a man who invaded his North Carolina home, but that came after he was charged with felony battery for punching a man during a music video shoot.

You can watch DaniLeigh’s interview in the video above.
