Here Are The Lightning In A Bottle Set Times For 2023

Lightning In A Bottle Festival will stage its 20th anniversary from Wednesday, May 24, to Monday, May 29, promising “five days of music, art, yoga, talks and workshops, camping, and more” in Buena Vista Lake, California. That’s a vast bill.

Last year’s lineup featured Glass Animals, Kaytranada, Little Simz, and Purity Ring. This year’s lineup is headlined by the likes of Diplo, 070 Shake, Sampa The Great, Tobe Nwigwe, Zhu, and an overwhelming amount of other performers.

The bad news: The five-day schedule is intimating. The good news: It definitely contains all the information you could possibly need, and that’s before even mentioning the separate schedule for Learning & Culture, Art & Interactivity, or Yoga & Movement lineups.

The music portion of the festivities will be divided across six stages: Lightning, Thunder, Woogie, Grand Artique, The Junkyard, and The Stacks. The marathon begins tomorrow, May 24, with Beau Sebastian (6-7:30 p.m. local time), Armando Kroma (7:30-9 p.m.), Marcos (9-10:30 p.m.), Cody Lee (10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.), and Saand (12-2 a.m.), all at The Junkyard.

Thursday, May 25, kicks off at 11:30 a.m. on the Junkyard stage with Blake Rudolph and will rage on until 2 a.m. with Evan Hatfield (12:45 a.m.-2 a.m.) on Grand Artique and a surprise guest slated from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. at The Stacks.

Friday’s slate features 070 Shake (9:30-10:30 p.m.) on the Lightning stage, Diplo (12-2 a.m.) on the Woogie stage, and two surprise guests back-to-back from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. at The Stacks.

Come Saturday — how could anybody possibly have any energy left? — Rogelio will get the day started at 11 a.m. at The Junkyard, and that set will be bookended by Zhu on the Lightning stage (12:30-2 a.m.) Finally, Sunday, May 28, will welcome two more surprise guests and the likes of Sampa The Great (8:10-9:25 p.m.), LSDream (11:30 p.m.-12:45 a.m.), Tale Of Us (12-2 a.m.), and Littlefoot (1:15-2:40 a.m.).

88rising’s Head In The Clouds Festival Returns To Los Angeles With DPR Live, DPR Ian, And Jackson Wang

88rising’s Head In The Clouds Festival is returning to Los Angeles for its 5th event on August 5 and 6, once again taking over Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena with a lineup featuring DPR Live, DPR Ian, Jackson Wang, NIKI, Rich Brian, and Rina Sawayama. A number of regulars for the Asian-focused festival return as well, including Keith Ape, Warren Hue, Milli, and more. There’s even a special guest: DJ/producer Zedd, fresh off his appearance in The Muppets Mayhem.

Tickets for this year’s event go on sale next Tuesday, May 30, with a presale on Thursday, May 25 at 10 am. You can preregister for the presale now at the festival’s website. The festival is also bringing back 626 Night Market as its official food partner, ensuring that there will be just as many awesome eats as there are entertaining musical acts.

88rising recently expanded Head In The Clouds to the East Coast with its inaugural festival in Queens, New York, as well as overseas with an event in Jakarta. At last year’s Los Angeles Head In The Clouds, stars like Audrey Nuna, Deb Never, Jay Park, and Raveena helped advance 88rising’s mission to highlight Asian talent in the music world, and this year’s lineup aims to do the same. Don’t miss out.

Here Are The Sueños Music Festival Set Times For 2023

Next week, the Sueños Music Festival kicks off in Grant Park, Chicago. According to the fest’s website, it is currently 95% sold out — and with very good reason. Across the two days, May 27 and May 28, Grupo Firme, Nicky Jam, Wisin y Yandel, and Feid are headlining.

However, the rest of the lineup is equally stacked, so many attendees might be wondering when they’ll be able to catch their favorite performers. Or if they’ll be any overlap in between the set scheduling.

Here’s what to know about the 2023 festival set times.

The tunes kick off on May 27 starting at noon with DJ Gordo in thirty-minute increments. He will be followed by PaoPao, Yovngchimi, and Gera Mx. From there with Ivy Queen at 2:50 p.m., it increases mostly to fourty minutes, followed by Chencho. With an exception from a thirty-minute set from DJ Miriam at 4:40-5:10, things then return for longer performances.

Arcangel plays from 5:10-5:50, then El Alfa from 6:20. To close out Saturday night, Feid plays 7:30-8:15, and Wisin y Yandel takes the full hour from 9-10 p.m.

As there is only one stage, thankfully, attendees won’t have to worry about hopping across massive festival grounds. Sunday follows a similar schedule format. Some things worth noting are Eladio Carrión from 4:05-4:45 p.m., Becky G starting at 5:15, Nicky Jam at 7:30, and the headliners Grupo Firme starting at 8:50-9:50.

Slowthai Dropped From Glastonbury, Other Festivals Amid Rape Charges

Northampton rapper Slowthai has been removed from the lineups of two major music festivals in the U.K. His removal follows recent news that he is now facing two rape charges. The rapper was scheduled to perform at England’s Glastonbury Festival in June, but his name has now been removed from the lineup poster. Slowthai also had scheduled performances at both Reading and Leeds Festivals in August. His name also no longer appears in those lineups. Slowthai is also scheduled to perform at various other music festivals across the U.K. in upcoming months, but it is unclear whether the rapper was dropped from those festivals as well.

Yesterday (May 16), news broke that the rapper has appeared in court, facing two charges of rape. He was charged with the oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent in Oxford in September of 2021. The rapper was released on bail and is set to appear next month at Oxford crown court. In his recent court appearance, he only spoke once to confirm his name, date of birth, and address.

Slowthai Says He’s Innocent

The rapper took to Instagram to defend himself shortly after the news broke. He wrote to his followers, “i am innocent and I am confident my name will be cleared.” Adding, “until then i will apply my energy to ensure this is concluded swiftly and justly.” He then asked his supporters not to “comment about this situation,” and to “respect the process and privacy of [his] family at this time.”

Slowthai released his third album, Ugly, in March of this year. Discussing the album, he said “People see you as a character. They don’t actually know who you are. You’re stereotyped as the nutter who gets in his boxers.” He continued, “I was doing that to show that you should be free at shows and enjoy yourself but you choose to see me as an idiot.” “It doesn’t matter what or who people think you are, you’ve just got to stay true and respect yourself,” he added. He called his “ugly” face tattoo, “a reminder to love myself, rather than put myself down constantly or feel the impression people have of me should determine who I am as a person.”

Kendrick Lamar And Foo Fighters Will Headline Austin City Limits Festival 2023

Austin City Limits Festival returns this year with headliners Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, and Mumford & Sons, along with a lineup that includes some of the biggest names in music. The 1975, Alanis Morrissette, Shania Twain, and Hozier fill out the big print on this year’s flyer, while the rest of the roster runs the gamut from hip-hop to pop to rock, with dreamy singers like Kali Uchis and Lil Yachty, unapologetic rappers such as Coi Leray, GloRilla, and Little Simz, and genre-benders like Rina Sawayama taking the stage October 6-8 and 13-15. A message from ACL’s Twitter touts that this year’s ticket price will include all fees and shipping costs upfront so fans know what they’re getting without a Ticketmaster-style jump scare at checkout.

Austin City Limits’ latest lineup continues its tradition of diverse but stacked artist curation; last year, the festival was headlined by Lil Nas X, Paramore, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and SZA. This year’s fest will also be available to stream on Hulu thanks to a partnership with C3 Presents that will stream the 2023 events of ACL, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza on the popular platform. In a statement, C3 Presents co-founder Charlie Walker said, “The demand for live music is at an all-time high and the live experience has never been more connected to digital. By expanding our partnership with Hulu, even more fans will be able to tune into each of these incredible festival experiences in real-time and enjoy live performances from their favorite artists with the fans on-site.”

You can get more information about this year’s ACL Festival here.
