Overall, the story of how this shoe was acquired is quite unique. The ballboy was gifted these by Michael Jordan himself, and each toe box was signed. Now, they are up for auction and Sotheby’s is very confident these will go for record prices. According to Sole Collector, Sotheby’s is claiming that these could sell between $2 and $4 million. That would be an obscene price, however, as we already know, memorabilia prices have been skyrocketing over the past few years. Collectors want these pieces for their collections, and the appreciation in value makes these worth investing in.

Through Sothebys.com, you will be able to bid on these from April 3rd to April 11th. Although, you are going to need a lot of money if you want to be able to afford these. If you don’t have that kind of dough, you can forget that these even exist. You can let us know what you think of the shoes, in the comments section down below. Everything We Know About The Upcoming ‘Air’ Movie

Air, the much anticipated upcoming Michael Jordan movie, opens in theaters in April. Movie and basketball fans are rightfully pumped. The film is noted to be a cinematic masterpiece. Critics state it captures the essence of one of the most groundbreaking partnerships in sports history. And here is everything we know about it.

Indeed, movies about sports, particularly basketball, are not new. Basketball and cinema have shared a rich history, dating back to the 1930s when the Harlem Globetrotters first appeared in films.

Basketball Movies and Air Jordan

However, despite numerous basketball-themed movies and documentaries, a biopic on one of the sport’s most prominent and distinguished players, Michael Jordan, has yet to be made.

Jordan’s impact on the sport is undeniable. He has won six NBA championships, five MVP awards, and two Olympic gold medals. Not to mention many other numerous other accolades. Widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time, Jordan and his legacy have continued growing. Even in his retirement, his Air Jordan brand of shoes is still wildly popular.

A Bit of Nike History with Jordan

Nike’s partnership with Jordan to create the Air Jordan brand of sneakers in 1984. And it was considered a risky move. The NBA had strict rules about uniformity in footwear. Jordan’s preference for colorful sneakers went against the norm.

However, Nike’s marketing campaign for the Air Jordans was a monumental success. It featured Jordan in iconic ads and created a cult following around the brand. The shoes were not only a triumph on the court, but they also became a fashion statement off the court. Fans clamored for each latest release.

The Air Jordan line of sneakers continues to be a chief player in the sneaker industry today. New releases create a buzz among sneakerheads almost 40 years later.

The Buzz about the Movie ‘Air’

Although movies such as Space Jam (1996) featured Michael Jordan, it was not about Jordan’s life story. Air is something completely different.

Air highlights the groundbreaking partnership between Jordan and Nike. A relationship that forever changed how we view sports branding and fashion. Specifically, Ben Affleck’s Air attempts to show audiences a new side to a world they thought they knew.

Air explores the humble beginnings of Jordan. It also dives into how Nike went from being a joke in the industry to one of the world’s biggest sports accessory brands. Additionally, it focuses on the rise of Nike’s Air Jordan shoe and its iconic part of the sports shoe world.

What’s It About?

Check out the trailer for Air.

The film is set in the 1980s when Nike struggled to compete with rivals such as Adidas and Converse. The company’s executives were looking for a way to get a foothold in the basketball market. That’s when Vaccaro approached them with the idea of signing Jordan.

However, Nike’s management initially hesitated. They thought that the rookie player needed to be more proven to be worth the investment. Eventually, they took the risk. The Air Jordan line became one of the most popular and profitable shoe brands of all time.

In Air, audiences will witness the power of teamwork as Nike’s fledgling basketball division takes a risk that pays off more than anyone could have imagined.

The Stars of the Movie

Air opens in theaters in April.

Air presents audiences with an all-star ensemble cast. The film features Matt Damon as Sonny Vaccaro. Vaccaro is the aspiring sports executive who signed Jordan to his historic contract at Nike.

In addition, Ben Affleck plays Nike co-founder Phil Knight. Knight saw the prospects in Jordan when no one else did. Meanwhile, Deloris Jordan, portrayed by Viola Davis, brings a mother’s perspective to the table. Deloris fiercely advocates for her son’s worth and talent.

In addition to the main cast, the movie also features a supporting cast of talented actors. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who plays a fictionalized version of himself, and Jon Bernthal, who plays the head of Nike’s marketing division. Both make unforgettable cameos.

Air marks the first time Affleck directs his longtime friend and collaborator, Damon. The two have previously worked together on a number of projects, including Good Will Hunting (1997) which they co-wrote and starred in, as well as Dogma (1999) and the Jay and Silent Bob movies.

Fans Can’t-Wait to See ‘Air’

Air promises to be a riveting portrayal of the partnership between Michael Jordan and Nike that transformed the basketball world and revolutionized sneaker culture.

Fans of basketball, shoe enthusiasts, and Michael Jordan fans alike are eagerly anticipating the release of Air and are hungrily awaiting the chance to witness the story of how a rookie basketball player and a fledgling shoe company changed the game forever.

Air is scheduled to be released in theaters in April 2023.

LeBron James Retells Wild Michael Jordan Dream

LeBron James is one of the most famous athletes in the entire world. When an athlete is extremely famous, sometimes they fancy a bit of privacy. Overall, James is as private as one can be for an extraordinarily famous individual. However, from time to time, James likes to let us into his life and his subconscious. He will go on Twitter or Instagram and give us a glimpse of what is going on throughout his day-to-day. This is all very fun, and it has led to some pretty hilarious moments and even some revelations.

Subsequently, LeBron was feeling very forthcoming on Sunday morning. In the tweets down below, the Los Angeles Lakers star spoke about a dream he had involving Michael Jordan. Of course, this had fans in a tizzy due to the fact that James is neck and neck with MJ in the GOAT debate. Moreover, the dream had to do with Duke and North Carolina, which is an epic basketball rivalry.

LeBron And His Dreams

“Just woke up from having a dream that MJ and I was shooting the sh*+ back and forth at the Men’s National Championship game between North Carolina/Duke! Great vibes and EPIC CLASSIC GAME!” LeBron wrote. “It was a tie game/94-94/5 secs left/NC with the ball. My ass would wake up to use the bathroom right before seeing the ending of the game. Happens all the time. Never get to the end. Anyways felt real as hell. Lol. Gm everyone.” The ending to this dream is truly unfortunate. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we have all had dreams that end before we wanted them to. You can never seem to get the dream back, and it is truly tragic.

James is probably dreaming about basketball right now because he can’t play it. He is currently dealing with an ankle injury that is keeping him out of the Lakers lineup. Although he could come back by playoff time, there is no guarantee that his team makes it that far. Either way, it is clear that ball is always deep in his subconscious. Let us know what you think about his dream, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the sports world.

Larsa Pippen Tried Hooking Up Marcus Jordan With Her Friends

They may have a strange history, but Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan‘s romance is going strong. Yet, their connection is a tangled web; Larsa was married to Scottie Pippen. The basketball icon dominated alongside Michael Jordan on the Chicago Bulls in the franchise’s most successful years. Pippen and Jordan have had a tense relationship for some time, and it’s easy to find highlights of their beef. Marcus is Michael’s son, and he and Larsa have a 16-year age difference.

Larsa has faced criticism over her dating life, but she’s addressed naysayers head-on. The Real Housewives star visited Way up with Angela Yee, and her boyfriend was by her side. Yee noted that she knew Marcus and went to the opening of his store in Orlando. “I think Marcus is amazing. And like, when you guys first started dating—I don’t know if you were dating or not yet. But when you were pictured together, I was on The Breakfast Club. I was like, ‘No, they’re just out eating. They know each other.”

According to Larsa, at that time, the two were just friends. “We weren’t dating, we really weren’t dating,” she said. “We actually met at a party four years ago. And I feel like a lot of people want to like, spin things. Like, ‘Oh, they’ve known each other their whole life!’ I’m like, ‘By the way, we did not.’” Larsa also noted that when Michael and Scottie were teammates, she and Marcus had no contact. “We missed that era.”

“It’s like, we were friends, we met four years ago, we have mutual friends,” Larsa further added. “We were in the same group, like, a lot. And it’s funny, because I was trying to set him up with all my friends.” The revelation made the hosts laugh. She added, “I was telling all my friends in Miami, ‘You gotta make time to meet him, he’s so cute.’”

Marcus Made His Choice

Although she tried to play matchmaker, in the end, Marcus wasn’t interested. Larsa said he didn’t go out with anyone she suggested. “But really, I would hype him up to all my friends,” she continued. Marcus added there wasn’t a goal for him and Larsa to date. She said they have so many similarities that they just clicked. Check it out above.

Joe Budden Says LeBron’s Finals Competition Was Better Than MJ’s

“Every team LeBron beat is way better than all the teams that Jordan beat.” Joe Budden proclaimed this recently on an episode of his Joe Budden Podcast. This debate has been ongoing for about a decade now, and one of LeBron James’ recent triumphs has re-sparked it again. On Feb. 7, LeBron became the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. Surpassing Laker legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James’ epic two-point fade-away against the Oklahoma City Thunder got him over the mountain.

After this feat, voices from all across Hollywood congratulated LeBron. Shaq, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Rihanna, Fat Joe, and more all chimed in on Bron’s record-breaker. Even Michael Jordan, who many debate is the only player ever better than James, had a few words. “Congratulations to LeBron on this incredible achievement. It’s a testament to his hard work, longevity, and his great skill,” MJ said. So, even if they may have a rivalry in the GOAT debate, Bron and MJ can still put their pride to the side at times.

Joe Budden’s Take

Just a few weeks after James practically called himself basketball’s GOAT, Joe Budden seemed to concur. Continuing on his aforementioned Bron vs. MJ rant, Budden explained the discrepancy between their competition. “Roll ’em all in a pack and smoke ’em. All of them teams is trash, stop it. Utah twice, Karl Malone, stop it. The Sonics, stop it. Stop it, he beat up on f**kin’ Dale Ellis and them. Shut the f**k up! He don’t know what it’s like when some killers walk in the gym. Oh sh*t that’s Klay, oh sh*t that’s Steph, Draymond. Oh sh*t, Durant there too. N****s just wildin’ over there!”

Budden asserts that players from the late-2010s Golden State Warriors were much more difficult to play than any teams Jordan played in his NBA Finals appearances. In his quote, Budden mentions Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz and the Seattle Supersonics, led by Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp. At the time, both squads were thought to be elite. However, LeBron played against the Warriors in four straight NBA Finals, only winning one of those matchups. Jordan finished his career 6-0 in NBA Finals. Do you think Joe Budden makes a valid point?

SOURCE SPORTS: Charles Barkley Says Kareem, Jordan, and Lebron Are All the Goats

CelebritiesWhoWereUninvitedtotheCookoutin

NBA Hall of Famer and current NBA analyst Charles Barkley has the credentials to back up any statements in a GOAT debate. For him, it’s simple, the conversation for the Greatest of All Time should be broken down into segments.

Speaking on a recent NBA on TNT broadcast, Chuck believes we have three goats: Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James. Each of them presided over the eras they played in because basketball and the league is an evolving game.

“Kareem was the greatest in his generation, MJ was the greatest in his generation, and LeBron’s been the greatest in his generation. You can’t compare eras. It’s impossible.”

Will that stop the debate? Of course, not. It will rage on across social media and sports debate shows for the rest of eternity.

The post SOURCE SPORTS: Charles Barkley Says Kareem, Jordan, and Lebron Are All the Goats appeared first on The Source.

Charles Barkley Gives His Take On NBA GOAT Debate

Charles Barkley is one of the best players to ever step on an NBA court. Although he is not a top 10 player, most would put him solidly in their top 20. Had he won an NBA championship or gone to more NBA Finals, he probably would be higher. However, Barkley still had an amazing career that cannot be discounted. He had some pretty wild numbers throughout his reign in the league, and he will always be respected by real basketball fans. That said, Barkley is still a controversial figure thanks to his person on TNT.

Over the years Barkley has been forced to give his opinion on the dreaded GOAT debate that we know all too well at this point. Every single day, it feels like someone is asked who the best between LeBron and Michael Jordan is. Furthermore, this is especially true now that James officially has the record for most points in NBA history. Everyone wants to give their hot takes on this topic, while every analyst is being sought out for their opinion.

Charles Barkley Weighs In

When it comes to Barkley, he is taking a more measured approach than he used to take in the past. Instead of scoffing at the idea of LeBron being the GOAT, Barkley is acknowledging that James has led his entire generation. “Kareem was the greatest in his generation, MJ was the greatest in his generation, and LeBron’s been the greatest in his generation. You can’t compare eras. It’s impossible,” Barkley said. All things considered, this is actually quite a bit of growth from Barkley. Clearly, LeBron has taught him that anyone can become the GOAT, regardless of the era they played in.

Of course, the GOAT debate is one of those subjective conversations that doesn’t actually mean all that much. At the end of the day, fans just want to enjoy the games. All of that legacy talk just takes away from the sport that everyone loves. That said, let us know who you think is the GOAT, down in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

Allen Iverson Divulges On Why He Takes LeBron Over Michael Jordan

Allen Iverson is someone who got to play against some of the GOATs of basketball. Overall, Iverson is held in high esteem by a lot of fans and players. Although he may not be a GOAT, there are people who want his opinion on the Michael Jordan Vs. LeBron James debate. At this point, the debate is extremely tired, however, it continues to rage on. This is especially true now that LeBron has eclipsed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time scoring record.

During All-Star weekend, Iverson got to be part of some of the festivities. As someone who has played against both LeBron and MJ, some reporters were wondering how Iverson feels about these two. For instance, Marc J. Spears of Andscape asked Iverson directly who he would take between the two. For Iverson, it was a truly tough call. However, he opted to go with LeBron for the following reason.

Allen Iverson Speaks

Allen Iverson attends The Players’ Tribune + Heir Jordan Host Players’ Night Out At The Royale Party at Bounce Sporting Club in Chicago on February 13, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois. (Photo by Jeff Schear/Getty Images for Players’ Tribune)

“LeBron, I think, to me is the best overall basketball player that we’ll ever see,” Iverson said. “If you look in the dictionary and look up basketball player, there’ll be a picture of LeBron. But for me it’s so different because Mike was everything to me. He gave me the vision. He made me want to play basketball. He’s my everything. I wanted to actually be like him, like the commercial, ‘Be like Mike,’ I really wanted to be him. I’m still starstruck every time I see him. I’m still nervous every time. Because he’s Mike to me. He’s my guy. So there’ll never be no one at the top of my list besides Mike. But LeBron is just everything that you want in a basketball player. He’s a total package. He’s God’s gift to the basketball world.”

You can’t help but respect what Iverson has to say on this topic. James and Jordan are two legends of the game, and there is no denying that. Until the end of time, the GOAT debate will be ongoing. In the future, it will be interesting to see if anyone can capture the attention that LeBron and MJ once did. Give us your thoughts on Iverson’s take, down in the comments below.
