Logic Cops A New Whip For His Latest Song “Maybach Music”

Logic is taking a cue from Rick Ross for his latest single, “Maybach Music.” The Maryland rapper blessed fans with his latest single earlier today.

This morning, the rapper unveiled his latest single, which was recorded in the backseat of a brand new Maybach that he purchased for $325K.” While it would’ve been a great opportunity for him to flaunt his wealth, Logic details the day-to-day struggle of common folk. Logic takes on soulful sample-based production while also showing love to some of hip-hop’s greats, such as J. Dilla and Cypress Hill.

Logic started to apply pressure at the beginning of the year. Just last week, he announced that he’s releasing a new album titled, College Park in February. The new project includes major collaborations beyond some of hip-hop’s favorites.

However, he does have a few heavy-hitters attached to the project like RZA, Bun B, Joey Bada$$, Fat Trel, Statik Selektah, and Redman. However, it’ll also include appearances from Norah Jones and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who Logic confirmed would be singing.

Prior to releasing “Maybach Music,” he dropped off “Wake Up” ft. Lucy Rose and “Insipio.” College Park will mark his follow-up to Vinyl Days, and his beat tape, Peanuts.

Logic’s new album, College Park drops on February 24th. Check out his latest single below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
I never passed tenth grade, but I still get the rent paid
You fake, I B-Real like Cypress Hill, word to Muggs
You fake motherfucker, I can see through you
My game’s strong, you weak like five plus two

Future Dissed Lori Harvey And Michael B. Jordan On His Original ‘Maybach’ Verse With 42 Dugg

At multiple points over the last decade, Future has been given the crown of “toxic king” for things he’s either done outside of music or things he’s said in his songs. The passionate lover that showed his heart on Honest, the rapper’s 2014 album, was quickly replaced by toxicity on his 2017 effort, Hndrxx. Fast-forward to the present and Future once again reached for the “toxic king” crown during his guest appearance on 42 Dugg’s track, “Maybach.”

On it, Future raps, “Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her / One thing I never seen was a bitch that leave,” which is of course directed at Lori Harvey whom he dated last year.

However, it turns out there was much more to that diss than fans heard on the final version. On the original version of the track, which 42 Dugg shared in a TikTok video, Future not only took a shot at Lori but her current boyfriend Michael B. Jordan as well.

“Must’ve forgot to tell her daddy she begged me not to leave,” Future says after the aforementioned line. “Put baguettes on ya ankles damn near up to ya knees / She didn’t have a choice, but to go f**k a lame after me.”

During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, 42 Dugg reveals he pushed Future to rap the line because of the attention it would get.

“I told his ass, you need to say that sh*t three more times,” he said. “I was loving it…Future knew too though. He knew what was going on. Future a bad motherf*cker.”

You can listen to the unofficial version of “Maybach” above.

42 Dugg is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

42 Dugg And Future Flaunt Their Cash And Jewels In The Flashy ‘Maybach’ Video

42 Dugg’s trek towards fame started after a game of shooting dice with Lil Baby, whose 4PF imprint later become the home of the rising rapper. Dugg, who hails from Detroit, has released multiple projects since 2018, but his breakout moment waited until 2020 when he featured alongside Baby on “We Paid,” a track that was one of the more popular hip-hop releases in 2020. More than a year after that track, Dugg is looking for the same success, this time with his newly-released project, Free Dem Boyz, which arrives with a new video that pairs the Detroit native with Future.

The new visual is for the duo’s first collaboration, “Maybach,” and it finds the pair stunting in luxury cars with large sums of cash in their hands. The track is also catching attention from fans for a diss Future delivers to his ex-flame Lori Harvey, who is the stepdaughter of comedian Family Feud host Steve Harvey. “Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her,” he raps on multiple occasions on the song. A snippet of the track that leaked the night before the track’s release revealed the shot at Lori and Steve may have responded to the song with a tweet of his own. “Sometimes distancing is the best response,” he wrote. “You don’t have to return or respond to negative energy. Just remove yourself.”

As for Free Dem Boyz, the project comes with a total of 19 songs and features from Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, EST Gee, Rowdy Rebel, and Fivio Foreign.
