Manny Pacquiao Has Olympic Boxing Appeal Rejected

The IOC has refused to amend its rules regarding the age limit of 40 for boxers at the Olympics, meaning that retired legend Manny Pacquiao will not be able to compete in Paris this summer. The 45-year-old Pacquiao, who retired in 2021, had expressed interest in representing The Philippines at the Games later this year. Pacquaio had not officially announced he would seek a place at this month’s qualifying event in Italy or a second event in Thailand in May.

Furthermore, the IOC also rejected The Philippines’ request to be allocated universality places for the boxing events. Universality places provide underrepresented countries places in various Olympic events. “Universality places are not allocated to [teams] with an average of more than eight athletes in individual sports/disciplines at the last two editions of the Olympic Games. This is the case for the Philippine Olympic Committee,” the IOC explained.

Tyson Fury Postpones Oleksandr Usyk Bout After Training Injury

Elsewhere, Tyson Fury’s bout with Oleksandr Uysk has been postponed until May. Fury postponed his February 17 fight against Usyk after suffering an injury in training. “I am absolutely devastated after preparing for this fight for so long and being in such superb condition. I feel bad for everyone involved in this huge event. Furthermore, I will work diligently towards the rescheduled date once the eye has healed. I can only apologize to everyone affected including my own team, Team Usyk, the undercard fighters, partners, and fans as well as our hosts and my friends in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Fury said in a statement. Per the British fighter, he suffered an orbital laceration while sparring.

Fury and Usyk signed fight contracts last year for the first undisputed heavyweight fight in boxing’s four-belt era. Fury currently holds the WBC belt while Usyk holds the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts. The fight was originally scheduled for April 2023, with a fight slated for London’s Wembley Stadium. However, the fight fell through at the last moment. Instead, Uysk fulfilled his mandatory WBA defense against Daniel Dubois in an August fight in Poland. Meanwhile, Fury has not fought since beating Derek Chisora in December.

Floyd Mayweather & KSI To Tag Team Fight Manny Pacquiao & Salt Papi

Floyd Mayweather and KSI are reportedly in talks to do a tag team fight against Manny Pacquiao and Salt Papi soon. Moreover, these four titans in combat sports come from very different origins and disciplines before entering the ring. Pacquiao and Mayweather already faced off and are two of the most celebrated boxers of our time. On the other hand, Papi and KSI built incredible careers thanks to their prior social media presence and hustling that led them where they are today. Overall, it’s quite a representative pool of what’s happening with boxing and combat sports in general today, as sad as that may make some people.

That being said, if it goes down, this will be an incredibly exciting display regardless of each fighter’s journey. Sure, controversial figures like Jake Paul inspire a lot of rage in the boxing community, but others also elevated the sport to a wider audience. In fact, Mayweather himself had a confrontation with Paul in Miami on Thursday (March 9). They have a long and intense rivalry, and things got so heated that the social media influencer ran away. Later, he gave his side of the story on Instagram.

Mayweather, Pacquiao, Salt Papi & KSI To Face Off In Tag Team Fight

“So I’m leaving the Miami Heat game,” Paul explained. “Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere, out of like some side alley, waiting for me outside the stadium, and they’re like, ‘So what’s up? What’s all that talk now?’ I’m like first of all, what did I say to you Floyd? I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Come on, bro. And then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me to jump me, and I’m out that b***h, ok?”

However, according to a source close to Floyd, Jake Paul had much more to worry about than his robbery antics. “Jake crossed the line,” they said. “This wasn’t about grabbing a hat. This was about Jake’s comments to Floyd about Floyd’s deceased family member and other below-the-belt inappropriate behavior.” Fortunately, if this news is true, Mayweather will have much better things to worry about and look forward to than his Jake Paul battles. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest on Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Salt Papi, and KSI.

SOURCE SPORTS: Manny Pacquiao Headed to Trial for Breaching Contract with Paradigm Sports

la sp sn manny pacquiao floyd mayweather boxing deadline

Manny Pacquiao’s next match may be his most intense yet. The legendary boxer is headed to trial on March 3 in Orange County, California, for breaching a contract.

Pacquiao is accused of engaging in bouts that violated the firm’s exclusive rights, including particular charges of (1) breach of contract, (2) breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and (3) unjust enrichment. Paradigm has also requested the court for a declaratory finding that it has contractual rights.

Judd Burstein is Paradigm’s primary counsel, and the case is before the Honorable Judge Walter P. Schwarm. The first lawsuit was filed on June 25, 2021.

Ahead of the trial start, Audie Attar, Paradigm Sports Founder and CEO, released a statement to The SOURCE:

Manny’s days of thumbing his nose at our contractual rights are almost at an end. We have an overwhelming case against him and look forward to justice being served. The Court has already entered an Order stating that – due to his consistent violation of court orders – Pacquiao is now deemed to have admitted that he breached his contract with Paradigm and that Paradigm has suffered more than $20 million in damages.

If any promoters, managers, fighters or broadcasting networks are considering entering into an agreement with Manny prior to the trial, they are now on notice that Paradigm will immediately commence an action against them for tortious interference with contract and seek both an injunction and damages.

Once Paradigm wins at trial in March, we will cut off 100% of Manny’s opportunities to earn money in the United States from any source because any revenue he generates will be attached to his judgment. Additionally, Paradigm will aggressively pursue enforcement of its judgment in any foreign country where Manny seeks to fight.

The SOURCE will update you as this trial gets underway.
