LaVar Ball Rips Lakers While Speaking On LaMelo’s Future

LaVar Ball is easily one of the most famous fathers in the entire world. A few years ago, Ball gained prominence thanks to the way he was promoting his oldest son, Lonzo. At the time, the Lakers were pathetic and they were going to get a high draft pick. As a California native, LaVar was able to advocate for his son to go to the Lakers and that is exactly what happened.

During this era, LaVar made all sorts of wild claims about his son’s talent. Overall, Lonzo was not able to live up to the hype, however, he is a very solid NBA point guard. Of course, Lonzo was traded from the Lakers to the Pelicans in exchange for Anthony Davis, back in 2019.

LaVar Ball Vs. The Lakers

Subsequently, LaVar has held onto his Lakers grudge all of these years. In a recent interview with Complex, Ball was asked if he would ever let LaMelo go to the Lakers. As you can imagine, Ball wants nothing to do with that franchise, moving forward.

Common sense would tell you, hell no,” LaVar said. “You did something to my boy Lonzo, and you think I’m going to come back with the others? I gotta be stone-cold crazy. You get rid of ‘Zo and you think I’m going to come back? I’m not that type of foolish guy.”

Throughout the interview, Ball made sure to reiterate that he hopes his sons will all join forces at some point in their careers. For instance, if their contracts all end at the same time, LaVar expects them to go to the same team. Of course, this all rides on LiAngelo making the NBA.

LeBron James Reacts To Lakers Trade Needs

LeBron James is one of the best players to ever step on the court. In over a week from now, James will get to turn 38 years old. At his age, his biggest goal is to continue racking up the accolades, and maybe even an extra championship or two.

However, the Lakers simply do not have the pieces to go out and achieve such a thing. With Anthony Davis injured, it appears as though the Lakers could use a trade. Of course, LeBron seems to be the go-to person when it comes to consulting about trades. This year, however, that might not be the case.

LeBron Gets Honest

While speaking Jovan Buha of The Athletic, LeBron made it absolutely clear that he is not paying attention to trades right now. Overall, he just wants to focus on playing basketball and performing at a high level. Simply put, you won’t see him advocating for any moves this season.

“Not a question for me,” James said. “I have no idea. When I’m playing, I show up, prepare, go to work and get my guys ready to go win a basketball game. I play the game, I’m not in the front office, so we’ll see. But I’m focused on the game and us trying to win basketball games, especially when I’m out on the floor.”

Perhaps James has been paying attention to the “LeGM” allegations. Fans have always felt like he has a huge influence on his team’s front office. This season, however, it looks like he wants to just play.

Anthony Davis & Lakers Get Upsetting Injury Update

Anthony Davis has consistently been one of the most injury-prone players in the entire NBA. It has been difficult for Davis to garner much momentum, even when he is playing the best basketball of his career. For instance, Davis was delivering monstrous performance after monstrous performance as of late. However, he is now dealing with a right foot injury.

This injury took place against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. Although the Lakers ended up taking home the win, Davis’ impending absence certainly makes the next stretch of ball that much tougher. Now, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook will have to carry the load.

Anthony Davis To Miss Time

According to Shams Charania, the Lakers’ biggest fear has come true. Davis is going to be out indefinitely with his foot injury. As it stands, we do not know what the exact diagnosis is, however, it cannot be good. Overall, Davis will certainly have to miss over a month of action.

The Lakers were finally starting to build up some momentum, so this news will definitely hurt. Over the course of the season, Davis had averaged 27.4 points per game, as well as 12.1 rebounds. That is significant production that the Lakers simply will not have over this Holiday stretch.

As it stands, the Lakers are 12-16 in the Western Conference. They are not in a playoff position, however, they had been steadily gaining on their rivals. Needless to say, they can expect to regress without AD on the court.

This is devastating if you’re a Laker fan, so let us know what you think of all this, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from around the basketball and sports world.

Kyle Kuzma Accused Of Tampering By Fellow NBA Players

Kyle Kuzma is having a great season with the Washington Wizards right now. He is having a nice career resurgence, and overall, the Wizards could not be happier. However, as we reported earlier today, there seems to be quite a bit of buzz around Kuzma.

For instance, his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, is currently thinking about making a trade for Kuzma. Yes, that’s right, after essentially giving up on the star, the Lakers want him back. Simply put, it is a great example of a team wanting what they can’t have.

Kyle Kuzma Tampering?

Kuzma has seemingly heard some of these rumors, and he is even playing into it. For instance, this afternoon, Kuzma took to Twitter where he wrote, “Nothing like getting off the plane that California breeze hit you.” Additionally, he added a palm tree emoji for good measure.

Consequently, Kuzma was immediately roasted by some of his peers across the league. For instance, Donovan Mitchell replied by saying “Tampering” with some laughing emojis. Immediately after Mitchell’s tweet, Trae Young replied by saying “basically.” Overall, it was pretty funny while also showcasing how these players see everything.

Whether or not Kuzma actually gets hit with some sort of punishment for tampering, still remains to be seen. There is a lot of plausible deniability when it comes to this whole thing. Kuzma could just tell the league that he likes being in California and that it was an independent thought from the trade rumors. Either way, Kuzma will likely be fine.

In the meantime, the trade rumors are still ongoing, so stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest news and updates from around the basketball world. Additionally, let us know what you think of all of this, in the comments down below.

Russell Westbrook Trade Rumors Get Final Nail In The Coffin

Russell Westbrook is one of the best point guards to ever play the game of basketball. However, the last two years have stained his reputation. While playing for the Lakers, Westbrook has not been at his best. Although, many believe it is simply the situation he has been thrust into.

There is certainly some proof to back this up. For example, Russ has become infinitely better since coming off the bench. As the leader of the Lakers’ second unit, Russ can now be the ball-dominant player he was always meant to be. It has led to improved stats, as well as improved results.

Russell Westbrook Trade Talks

Consequently, trade talks surrounding Russ have died down considerably. Just a few months ago, it really seemed like the Lakers wanted nothing more than to just get rid of Russ. Now, however, it seems like they are dead set on keeping him, no matter what.

In a report from Sam Amick of The Athletic, it was revealed that the Lakers fully intend on keeping Russ past the trade deadline. Overall, this is good news for Russ. He has ultimately changed the narrative around him, which means his free agency period will go much smoother.

The Lakers and Westbrook still have a lot of work to do. As it stands, the Lakers are 12th in the Western Conference with a record of 11-16. Needless to say, they need to be a lot better if they want to make the playoffs.

Kyle Kuzma Lakers Reunion Could Be In The Cards

Kyle Kuzma and the Los Angeles Lakers had a very interesting partnership. Sure, they won an NBA title together, however, it seemed like Kuzma wasn’t valued. He wasn’t getting the touches that he wanted, and it became clear that LeBron James and Anthony Davis were the priority.

Eventually, Kuzma was traded to the Washington Wizards in a deal for Russell Westbrook. That trade has not worked out too well for the Lakers, although Kuzma has excelled on the Wizards. Despite a poor record, Kuzma has looked very good and is experiencing the best stats of his career.

Lakers Want Kyle Kuzma Back?

With numerous players becoming trade-eligible today, many trade rumors are going around. According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Los Angeles Lakers want to trade for Kuzma. The Wizards star wants to get paid this summer, and it appears as though the Wizards are not his first choice.

Overall, he wants to play for a contender, and the Wizards aren’t there yet. With the Wizards aware of this, one could assume that they would rather make a trade instead of lose Kuzma for nothing. As for the Lakers deal, the purple and gold would have to give up a first-round draft pick.

At this point, it seems like the Lakers have some buyer’s remorse for Westbrook. They should have known what they were getting, but instead, they gave up a solid young star. Now, the Lakers will have to hope and pray that they can improve their team before the deadline.

Patrick Beverley Tells His Kids Santa Isn’t Real

Patrick Beverley is certainly one of the most interesting men in the NBA right now. For years, he has been known as a pest on the court, who loves to talk a big game. Consequently, he has been given his very own podcast with Barstool Sports. So far, the podcast has been quite successful.

Overall, it is a podcast that is mostly about basketball. Throughout each episode, Beverley will touch on current events throughout the league. Additionally, he speaks on stories he has from his long career in the league. From time to time, he also likes to talk about his personal life and his children.

Patrick Beverley Comes Clean

In the most recent episode of his podcast, his kids were a topic of conversation. As you can see in the clip below, this is mostly because he was talking about Christmas. Beverley recently admitted to telling his children that Santa Claus does not exist.

The Los Angeles Lakers star wanted to make it clear to his kids that it was he who was giving them all of their gifts. Overall, it is a pretty hilarious way to think, although that’s Pat Bev for you.

“Them presents y’all getting ain’t from Santa, that s***’s from me,” Beverley said. “That’s me eating that s***, I just wanted to let you guys know.”

Telling kids that Santa isn’t real can be a truly crushing experience. As children, we are full of wonder and will pretty well believe everything. Unfortunately, reality has to set in eventually.

Let us know what you think of Pat Bev’s masterclass in parenting, below. As always, stay tuned to HNHH as we will bring you the latest news from around the sports world.

LeBron James Has These Plans For Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis and LeBron James are a solid dynamic duo that can dominate the league when healthy. Of course, LeBron is much older than Davis, which means that the future of the Lakers franchise is really in AD’s hands. In a couple of years from now, AD could choose to leave, but in the interim, LeBron sees AD as the one who will take over once he retires.

This is something that was relayed by reporter Chris Haynes, who said LeBron is “in his ear about taking over the reins of the team.”

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

As for Davis’ thoughts on all of this, he is simply taking things day by day. He just wants to do what he can and then ride it out from there.

“All I can do is lead by my actions,” Davis said. “I’m excited for this challenge and what’s ahead. I think we have a great group of guys to get the job done. It’s now about putting in the work.

Steph Chambers/Getty Images

The Lakers are a team that underperformed last year, and they will be looking to prove themselves in 2022-23. It won’t be easy, but if these two stay healthy, they have a realistic shot at making a playoff run.

LeBron James Snubs Kareem Abdul-Jabbar On All-Time Lakers Starting 5 List

Throughout the decades, numerous amazing players have suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers. In terms of history, they probably have the greatest set of players in the history of the NBA, and if you are a fan of the team, you have lived through some amazing eras of Lakers basketball.

When you throw LeBron into the mix, it is almost impossible to make a Lakers all-time starting five without offending some people. There are too many good players to choose from, and if you leave someone off of the list, you know that there are some Lakers fans who will come after you.

Ethan Miller/Getty Images

According to reporter Peter Dewey, LeBron found this out the hard way as he recently gave his pick for the Lakers’ starting five. As you will see, he left Kareem off of this list, although it seemingly has nothing to do with Abdul-Jabbar’s recent criticisms of LeBron.

“All-time starting five for the Lakers?” James said. “I’m going Magic [Johnson] at 1, Jerry West at the 2, Kobe [Bryant] at the 3, myself at the 4 and Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal) at the 5. I mean Shaq is so dominant, man. I mean, I love Kareem too. I can’t even front on that, but Shaq’s so dominant, we need a big cuz I’m playing the 4, so we need a big. A.D. already put himself in the Top 5? Well put A.D. in, take me out.”

It is hard to bet against LeBron’s starting five, but the exclusion of Kareem might draw some angry cries from the purple and gold fanbase.

Russell Westbrook Divulges On Relationship With Patrick Beverley

Russell Westbrook is looking to bounce back this season after having one of the worst campaigns of his life last year. Westbrook is a player who has always been known for giving it his all, and fans were concerned over his poor play last year.

In addition to all of this, Westbrook now has to play with Patrick Beverley, who used to be his nemesis. These two went at it quite a bit and they had some bad things to say about each other in the media. With that being said, reporters have been curious about whether or not Russ feels like he has had to compromise who he is.

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Russ was very adamant that things are fine between him and Beverley. As you can see in the tweet down below, Westbrook claimed to be an easygoing guy who has never held a grudge, especially not when it’s related to battling on the court.

“[There was] no process,” Westbrook said. “I’m an easygoing guy. I don’t hold grudges against anybody—life is too short. We’ve been blessed with too many opportunities and platforms to walk around and hold grudges. I just continue to move forward. Obviously, when I’m on the court, I don’t have any friends other than that basketball and the people that’s on my team, so I compete. Other than that, off the floor, I’m just a normal guy that likes to have fun.”

This should be good news for the Lakers, who will need everyone to be getting along if they want this season to work out. After last year, any improvement will be a massive improvement.
