Lil Durk Pleads Not Guilty In Federal Murder-For-Hire Case

Lil Durk made some important decisions on November 14. The rapper appeared in an L.A. federal court after being extradited from Florida. He decided to plead not guilty to the murder-for-hire charge he was slapped with three weeks prior. The rapper was subsequently relegated to Los Angeles’ Metropolitan Detention Center, where he will remain until December 12. USA Today reports that Lil Durk will appear before a judge that Thursday, in order to get a ruling on whether or not he will be granted bond.

Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire charge was the reason for his initial arrest. That said, the rapper actually has had two more charges filed against him since. On November 7, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California charged Lil Durk with “one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death.” He was also charged with one count of “using, carrying and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.”

Prosecutors have requested that Lil Durk stay in custody pending his federal trial. According to the Chicago Tribune, the prosecution believe the rapper is a flight risk and a danger to the community. A similar plea was made by the prosecution in the ongoing Diddy trial. A statement released by the DoJ, also known as the U.S. Department of Justice, alleges that Lil Durk played a crucial role in the attempted murder of rapper Quando Rondo. “Bank and flight records,” the statement noted. “Show that an OTF member and close associate of [Durk] coordinated and paid for five co-conspirators to travel from Chicago to California on the day before the murder.”

Court documents obtained by DJ Akademiks show that Lil Durk is being represented by attorney Drew Findling. Findling previously represented rapper NBA YoungBoy during his federal weapons case earlier this year. The stakes are exponentially higher for Durk, however. If convicted of all three charges, the rapper will face a maximum sentence of life in prison. Durk’s trial is set to begin on January 7, 2025. United States District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald will preside over the case.

DJ Bandz Defends Lil Durk After Song Lyrics Are Quoted In New Indictment

Lil Durk was arrested in Florida last month and hit with a charge for alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy. The Chicago rapper was taken into custody shortly after five alleged OTF affiliates were. Authorities believe they were allegedly hired to kill Quando Rondo in retaliation for King Von’s death. In 2022, Quando Rondo and his cousin Lul Pab were victims of a shooting at a gas station in Los Angeles. Quando Rondo was unharmed, while Lul Pab’s wounds were fatal.

According to Billboard, prosecutors unveiled a new indictment yesterday (November 9), which includes two new charges against Durk. The charges include one murder-for-hire count and a firearms count. In the indictment, prosecutors also cite song of Durk’s song lyrics, which they allege directly reference Lul Pab’s murder.

DJ Bandz Insists Song Was Recorded Before Lul Pab Shooting

“Following the attempted murder of [Rondo] and the murder of [Lul Pab], defendant Banks sought to commercialize [Lul Pab]’s death by rapping about his revenge on [Rondo],” they allege. They additionally accuse Durk of referencing a news clip captured after the fatal shooting on his song “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy” Babyface Ray. “Told me they got an addy (go, go)/ Got location (go, go)/ Green light (go, go, go, go, go),” Durk raps in the song. “Look on the news and see your son/ You screamin’, ‘No, no’ (pu**y).” Now, however, DJ Bandz has come to Durk’s defense.

In a new tweet, he reacted to news that the song lyrics will reportedly be used in court, insisting that the song was recorded prior to the shooting. “Song was did wayyy b4 dat get yall weird police a** on,” DJ Bandz wrote. What do you think of prosecutors citing Lil Durk’s song lyrics in a new indictment? What about DJ Bandz insisting the song was recorded before Lul Pab’s passing? Fans In Ghana March In Support Of Lil Durk Amid His Incarceration

Fans and loved ones of Lil Durk have been showering him with love and support since his murder-for-hire arrest last week. Whether it be the “Free Durk” movement on social media platforms, other rappers and artists having his back, or family speaking out, he’s been getting good treatment. Some of it has led to some backlash. Take for instance his 10-year-old son Zayden. He put out a statement thanking his father’s fanbase for the backing and advocating on his behalf. However, it was very clearly written by the rapper’s PR team. This led to quite a large camp calling out his reps for getting his child involved, especially given his age.

But if there’s one thing to take away from all of this is that there’s a real persistence around clearing Durk’s image. Loyal listeners are doing their thing by increasing his streaming numbers by a considerable amount. In addition, there are people from all over the world marching in protest you could say. There’s video proof of this, thanks to DJ Akademiks.

As you can see in the video above, fans in Ghana are doing what they can to make their voices heard. There are people walking with OTF (Only The Family) flags and wearing t-shirts and there are tons of them. Some were vibing with it, while others are a little more upset and dismissive. “This is max level unemployment activities,” one IG user replies to the clip. “Ghanaians just need any reason to gather and celebrate 😂” another quips. Say you want, but Durk clearly has affected a lot of people in a positive way, and they are doing whatever they can to give back to him during this time of uncertainty.

Burna Boy Appears To Call For Lil Durk’s Release With Series Of Controversial Statements

At the end of work week last week, Lil Durk and five alleged OTF (Only The Family) members were arrested. Overall, the charges include for murder-for-hire involving a death, use of a machine gun in a violent crime, and conspiracy to conduct murder-for-hire. It’s all in connection to the attempted murder of Georgia rapper Quando Rondo. It occurred in 2022 but instead of taking his life, it wound up tragically taking Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson. On top of this, we have come to learn that someone within OTF had allegedly been wearing a wire for a couple of years and feeding authorities information about Lil Durk.

OTF Jam is the alleged man in question right now, but there’s still so much more to uncover and unpack. Since this bombshell, especially Jam’s wire, fans of Durk’s have been pushing heavily for his release. As of late Monday night, Nigerian rapper and singer Burna Boy seems to be joining the protestors thanks to a collection of statements from IG Stories. “The streets ain’t what it used to be,” he began. “The old rules no longer apply. The way I see it, everybody is a civilian now… No more sliding, just sue your opps to court and take they money. 😂” According to Within Nigeria, this seems to be in relation to a conflict with contemporary, Speed Darlington. Burna reportedly filed a petition against him for cyberstalking.

However, in a separate IG Story following the one above, Burna Boy would champion the release of Lil Durk. “Free SMURK.” All of these comments stirred up some debate amongst the internet, with it being caused by some discrediting the validity of Burna’s words. In general, those nonbelievers don’t think he’s “street” enough to be talking about gangs. “This tweet was posed to come from Boosie not no damn Burnaboy 😂😂😂” This led to a barrage of responses from others putting these types of people on blast for being naive about how dangerous other countries like Nigeria are. Bolstering their arguments further is the fact that Burna was arrested by Lagos officials for attempted murder back in 2010, according to Naija Gists.

What are your thoughts on Burna Boy appearing to champion the release of Lil Durk? Where do you stand on the whole arrest and the allegations? Do you think some of these internet users are being naive by discrediting what the Nigerian artist has to say? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Lil Durk Reportedly Booked Three Different International Flights in Attempt to Evade Feds

Lil Durk Reportedly Booked Three Different International Flights in Attempt to Evade Feds

Lil Durk‘s legal troubles continue to mount as he prepares to face formal charges in a mureder-for-hire plot. While he ultimately submitted himself to federal authorities, new FBI records show that surrender was not part of his initial plan.

FBI documents show that Durk (real name Durk Devontay Banks) attempted to “outmaneuver” federal agents by booking two separate one-way commercial flights to Switzerland and Dubai as well as a private chartered flight to Italy. U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted the FBI about the international commercial flights and the FBI learned about the scheduled flight to Italy shortly before it was expected to take off. According to FBI documents, “it was a calculated move that he believed could bypass federal jurisdiction.” The rapper was ultimately arrested at Miami’s Opa-Locka Executive Airport an hour before he was set to board the flight to Italy.

Durk’s arrest follows the arrest of five associates connected to his Only the Family (OTF) crew including Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. All members have been charged in an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo. Durk made his first appearance Friday afternoon at C. Clyde Atkins U.S. Courthouse in Miami and remains in Broward County jail as he faces conspiracy charges tied to the murder plot of Rondo.

Despite his best-laid plans, Durk may have had trouble escaping to Italy as passport control is required to exit the United States as well as enter the European Union- even on private jets. The United States and European Union countries often work together to apprehend individuals with arrest warrants in the other’s jurisdiction.

Alleged Lil Durk Snitch OTF Jam Caught On Camera Munching On McDonald’s In Interrogation Room

Lil Durk and five alleged OTF (Only The Family) members were recently arrested by the FBI for alleged murder-for-hire. The Chicago rapper’s life is reportedly on the line because if he’s found guilty, he could receive a life sentence in prison or be subject to the death penalty. Durk and his alleged affiliates’ arrests are in relation to the 2022 murder of Quando Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. King Von’s death continues to be a headline almost four years later, as this attack was an alleged act of retaliation. “Lul Pab” was not the target, however, as it instead was Rondo. Right now, there are some reports like one from The Express Tribune, that Durk was actually allegedly ratted on by one of his own.

That would happen to be OTF Jam, who was reportedly serving 12 years for attempted murder. He was allegedly wired and was feeding authorities information on this scheme. Now, he’s back in custody for this alleged murder-for-hire and answering questions from authorities. Footage of Jam in the interrogation room has surfaced thanks to DJ Akademiks and internet trolls are doing what they do and making jokes about the situation.

Jam can be seen eating some McDonald’s and looking up at the security camera. To be fair, Akademiks did instigate things by asking his followers to caption the image. That opened the flood gates and the internet came prepared. “Bro snitched on durk for a big mac and fries😭.” “He told for a Kai cenat meal 😂😂😂😂.” “You’re probably wondering how i got here.” The wise cracks go on and on from there. This proves that no matter how grave a scenario, people will find ways to make jokes.

What are your thoughts on OTF Jam eating fast food while in the interrogation room amid Lil Durk’s arrest? Do you think Jam will eventually be found guilty of snitching on the OTF founder? Are people wrong for the jokes due to the severity of the situation? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Lil Durk and his arrest. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
