Kevin Porter Jr. was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder this week amid claims that he brutally assaulted his girlfriend last month. The Rockets sent Porter Jr. to the Thunder along with two second-round picks, acquiring Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl in return. However, sources within the Thunder told ESPN that they planned to immediately waive Porter Jr.

Kevin Porter Jr. left numerous NBA fans disappointed on Monday as it was revealed he was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and strangulation. The arrest stemmed from an alleged incident involving his WNBA girlfriend Kyrse Gondrezick. Overall, the story is quite harrowing. Essentially, Porter Jr. and Gondrezick got into a dispute. She subsequently locked KPJ out of his hotel room. He eventually broke in and began assaulting her. The police were called by hotel staff, and he was then arrested and charged.

Today, the situation has become a lot scarier as the Associated Press has reported on the injuries that Gondrezick suffered. Kevin Porter Jr. is a player who has dealt with some pretty negative situations in his young NBA career. Overall, it has been hard for him to break through without making headlines that put him in a bad light. Now that he is on the Houston Rockets, there has been increased scrutiny of him. Moreover, there are some who believe he is not ready to be the face of a franchise. That said, things have seemingly gone from bad to worse for the young man.

According to NBC New York, Porter Jr. was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. The girlfriend in question is WNBA star Kysre Gondrezick. As the story goes, the two were in New York City and were out for the night when things got out of hand. Gondrezick locked him out of their hotel room, although he eventually got in.
