Kyrie Irving Speaks On Kevin Durant’s Injury

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have been playing some amazing basketball this year. Including last night against the Miami Heat, the Nets have won 18 of their last 20 games. Overall, the Nets are second in the Eastern Conference and they look like a real threat to win it all.

Unfortunately, Kyrie and KD are known for their fair share of injury problems. As it turns out, those injury issues are about to become a real problem for them down the stretch. This is because last night, Durant was hit by a falling Jimmy Butler. Consequently, Durant banged up his knee and had to miss the rest of the game.

Regardless, it was a solid outing for Kyrie Irving who notched 29 points. His performance was good enough to grab the win, which certainly boosted morale. As we already reported, Durant will subsequently have to get an MRI on Monday. This will give us a better understanding of Durant’s injury

Kyrie Irving Reacts

Following last night’s game, numerous reporters wanted to know how Kyrie and the team were feeling. Of course, losing your best player is devastating, and there was this sense that the players could be scrambling. However, it is clear that the Kyrie and the Nets want to hold themselves accountable.

“We don’t have any time for any excuses. We just have to keep moving forward,” Kyrie said succinctly.

Overall, the Nets are a team who can make a massive playoff run. However, if Durant’s injury is significant, then it could be over for this team’s chances. Hopefully, KD will be good for the playoffs, and the Nets can continue to impress.

Recently, according to The Neighborhood Talk, Kyrie donated another $22,000. This time, it was to Raymond Johnson Jr. Johnson’s family lost their home on New Year’s Eve, which is truly tragic. While everyone is okay, they need money to be able to survive right now. The goal of the GoFundMe was $10K, however, Irving doubled what they needed.

“On the night of Christmas eve, I received notice that my parents home was on fire due to a propane accident. This is the home we grew up in for 26 years, the house my parents have put their entire living towards along with raising their children,” the GoFundMe reads.

This is a truly amazing thing for Kyrie to do. Of course, it is something he has done before, although you have to respect how committed he is to making these kinds of donations. Overall, it was a great move, and we hope that the Johnsons are able to recover from this tragedy.

NBA Fines Kyrie Irving $25k For "Ungrateful" Comment Made Towards Fans Heckling Him

After he departed from Nike, Kyrie Irving made moves toward a new sneaker home. According to Musiq Soulchild, Irving is nearing a deal with the Black-owned shoe company SIA Collective.

TMZ caught the R&B star as he wore a pair of Croc-adjacent foam shoes. The shoe was from the SIA Collective, detailing that the brand, an acronym for Somewhere In America, is close to a new deal to make Irving their star endorsement.

“These shoes are made by a Black man,” Soulchild said. “His name is Devlin. He has his own company called SIA Collective… He’s actually in talks trying to work out a deal with Kyrie Irving.”

SIA is owned by Delvin Carter, which currently has nearly 400,000 followers on social media. The sneaker brand is sponsored in Oakland.

Soulchild added, “I think that will be an awesome decision.”

Earlier this month, Nike severed all business partnerships with NBA star Kyrie Irving, just one month following his Nike contract’s “suspension,” which stemmed from a perceived anti-Semitic video reposted by the Nets star on social media.

With Irving offering, no apology for posting the video, his suspended contract with Nike was paired with a suspension from the Brooklyn Nets. Nike also decided to shelf the release of its signature shoe, the Kyrie 8.

The sides have parted ways one month after Nike suspended its relationship with the Nets star. Sports reporter Shams Charania tweeted, “Kyrie Irving is no longer a Nike athlete, Nike spokesperson says. Irving has one of the most popular signature shoes in the NBA and is now a sneaker free agent.”

Just a couple of nights ago, the Nets were playing against the Golden State Warriors. Kyrie didn’t play, however, the Nets weren’t worried as they scored 91 points in the first half. Eventually, they went on to win the game by a score of 143-113.

Kyrie & KD Clap Back

This was a complete butt-whooping and the Warriors faithful at the Barclays Center were devastated. Without Steph Curry, the Warriors have been looking bleak, and there is this sense they might miss the postseason. Regardless, some of their fans are still feeling kind of bold.

In the tweet down below, you can see an interaction between Irving, KD, and a Curry fan. The Curry fan continues to taunt the duo, saying things would be different if Steph could play. Kyrie subsequently told the fan “It don’t matter cause he gotta guard me so it’s even.”

The fan had no choice but to shut up at that moment as Kyrie proved him to be wrong. At the end of the day, fans like to talk a big game. However, actual NBA players know what they’re talking about. Irving is not going to allow himself to be talked to that way, and with his history of clapping back at fans, this interaction should not be a surprise.

Kyrie Irving Reportedly In Deep Talks With Sneaker Brand

Kyrie Irving lost his Nike deal last month following his anti-Semitic Twitter post. Ultimately, Kyrie apologized for sharing the Amazon documentary, although, for many, the damage had already been done. Subsequently, Irving was suspended by the Nets before being reinstated two weeks later.

These days, Kyrie is excelling on the Brooklyn Nets, who look like a title contender. Overall, things are going well for him, particularly on the sneaker front. He is now looking to get a new deal and it seems like brands like Puma and New Balance are interested.

Kyrie Irving x SIA Collective

According to Musiq Soulchild, who recently spoke with TMZ, Kyrie is actually in advanced talks with SIA Collective. SIA Collective is a shoe brand from Devlin Carter, and it has been making huge waves. Musiq claims that while copping some shoes at SIA, he was told that Kyrie is seriously considering a partnership.

“I think that will be an awesome decision,” Musiq said. For now, however, an official decision has not yet been made by Kyrie. Either way, there is someone with a lot of interesting in the Nets star, and that will certainly go a long way.

Overall, it has always been hard for athletes to compete while working with smaller brands. For instance, guys like Dwyane Wade and Klay Thompson have never had the “iconic” sneaker status they would have with a Nike or an Adidas. Kyrie’s first few shoes with Nike were incredible, and no matter where he goes, it will be almost impossible to capture that lightning in a bottle again.

However, Kyrie has a lot of fans who are ready to support him. That said, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. If Kyrie signs with SIA Collective, he could certainly catapult them into a more mainstream conversation.

Kyrie Helps Student

For instance, Kyrie is now going viral on social media following the revelation that he helped a young student at Howard University. As the story goes, the student needed $6,000 to pay for her tuition. Consequently, if she didn’t pay up, she would ultimately be expelled.

The student made a GoFundMe for herself, however, it wasn’t long before she got a massive donation. As you can see in the Instagram post down below, Kyrie sent the girl $22,000 which is $16,000 more than she asked for. Needless to say, she will have some extra money for the next semester.

Irving has consistently donated to GoFundMe over the years. Whenever he sees someone in need, he seeks to help out, which is a beautiful thing. While Kyrie has certainly made his fair share of mistakes, it is important to point out when he does something good.

“I can tell you that last week, Irving and his representation did meet with independent sneaker owner SIA, and there’s no imminent decision on whether or not Irving and his team will sign with the company.,” Robinson reported. “But I’m told everybody is paying attention to the Nets point guard. Everybody’s reached out, and that’s including, I’m told, Adidas and others.”

Kyrie Irving Delivers Message To Brittney Griner

Kyrie Irving is someone who is not scared to speak on issues that matter to him. While he has gotten in trouble for some of his takes, there are certainly moments where he makes some poignant remarks. One of those instances came when he supported Brittney Griner in front of a sold-out Barclays Center.

Kyrie Speaks

Consequently, Kyrie is feeling pretty happy today. Irving was always a huge supporter of Griner and the efforts to bring her home. Now that she will get to see her family again, Irving has taken to Twitter with a message for the WNBA superstar.

“Welcome Home BG! Thank you for exemplifying what a true Warrior spirit looks like. You’re forever loved by so many unconditionally,” he wrote. If you have been following this story, you know that everyone wanted her home by Christmas. It seemed like an impossible task, but now, she will get to be her with wife Cherelle, very soon.

Griner’s release has also brought about quite a bit of controversy. For instance, many are upset that Marine Paul Whelan was left in a Russian jail. He has been there for four years, and people want answers. However, the truth is, the situation isn’t so simple. Russia sees him as a spy, so they won’t release him, no matter what.

Kyrie Irving Continues To Wear Nike, But With A Twist

Recently, Kyrie Irving was officially dropped by Nike. Of course, this decision was made following his Twitter post in which he shared a dubious documentary. Since that time, Kyrie has been forced to apologize. Additionally, the Nets suspended him for a couple of weeks.

The termination of his Nike deal was inevitable. Phil Knight and many others within the brand had made comments regarding Kyrie that suggested this was about to happen. Furthermore, with Adidas dropping Kanye, it seemed like dropping Kyrie was the logical conclusion to this saga.

While Kyrie looks for a new sneaker deal, he continues to wear Nike shoes. For instance, on Wednesday night, Irving wore a pair of Nike Kyrie 3s. In the post below, you can see that this shoe is black, gold, and red.

However, Kyrie Irving decided to make a statement by taping over the Nike logo. Unfortunately for Kyrie, the Nike logo is still kind of visible. Moreover, Irving wrote some messages on his shoes, in gold marker. For instance, you can see the phrases “logo here,” as well as “I am free, thank you God…I am.”

Overall, Irving is sending a very strong message here as he is showing that his Nike deal does not define him. While that may be the case, however, some may question him wearing Nike shoes at all.

In the coming months, it will be interesting to see which company decides to take on Kyrie as the face of the brand. For now, though, it seems like Kyrie will have to wait a while until the dust settles.

Let us know what you think of all of this, in the comments down below. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the sneaker world.
