Steph Curry Eager To Keep Warriors Core Together

The Warriors’ season ended in humiliation. They were bullied out of the playoffs by the Lakers in the second round. A lot has been written, and said, about this season for Golden State. Steve Kerr said the team never felt like a championship roster. Furthermore, Kerr placed much of the blame in regard to team dynamics on the fight between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole last October. Green agreed, stating that he lost the locker room after the incident.

This raises the question about the future of the team. Cap space is a non-issue, given that the Warriors are so far over it. At the time of writing, the Warriors are $101 million over the cap. Much of that money is set aside for the Big 3 of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. Curry (under contract until 2026) gets $51 million. Meanwhile, Thompson (final year of contract) gets $43 million. Then there’s Green, who will receive $27 million if he chooses to pick up the player option year on his contract.

Curry Eager To Run It Back

According to The Athletic‘s Tim Kawakami, Curry’s preference for the offseason would be to bring back the big three for one last ride. “I think the most likely scenario is that the Warriors keep most of this together for at least one more season,” Kawakami wrote in a recent Warriors mailbag. “That’s what Curry wants. His opinion sort of matters.” Additionally, despite laying the blame at his feet, Kerr also expressed his desire to retain the services of Green for next season.

However, with Thompson and Curry under contract, Green is the final piece. Whether he exercises his player option year will be decided by a few things. Firstly, is the Warriors’ locker room truly healed from the Green-Poole fight last year? Secondly, who will replace Bob Myers, the long-time Warriors GM who retired recently? Furthermore, will that individual want to keep Green around? As Kawakami noted, it’s more likely than not that the Big Three will run it back. However, this is one storyline to keep an eye on. “There’s a reason that we’re all still wearing that Warrior uniform… I know we have a lot of memories amongst three, but how many can we keep creating each and every year?” The team has been through it all. From injuries to even losing in the Finals back in 2016. However, this trio has battled a lot of adversity. Yet, they’re still standing strong. But for Curry, he knows this won’t last forever. Which is why the team has to take every opportunity they are given and run with it.

Steph Curry Wants To Keep Making Magic In Golden State

It’s very rare in today’s sports world to see a team created organically. Although the Warriors did add Kevin Durant for three special seasons. However, Curry, Green, and Thompson were all drafted by the Warriors. The team organically became a top threat far before Durant arrived. Now, after his exit, the franchise is continuing to win. This is a testament to the three men who helped continue the legacy of Warriors basketball.

The Warriors are undoubtedly the best team of the 2010s. However, the franchise is still making a statement in the 2020s. Steph Curry is still hoping there’s a little magic left for his time in Golden State. The Warriors will continue their quest for back-to-back titles on Monday night. The Golden State Warriors have become the greatest dynasty of a generation. The leaders of that dynasty since the beginning have been Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Known as the “Splash Brothers,” the duo has helped change the way basketball has been played. Alongside Draymond Green, the hot shooting duo made history in 2016. The trio made history for the most made threes in one season. A record that was set at 778. However, the team has added another lethal shooter to the roster in, Jordan Poole. Hence why there is a new record holder when it comes to this category.

The newest Warriors trio has destroyed the record Curry, and Thompson once held with Green. Now the record has been set at 788 threes made by one trio. Curry, Thompson, and Poole can be a nightmare to any team on any given night. This record just goes to show that. But now the trio will be looking to make an even bigger splash in the NBA Playoffs. The Warriors will take on the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs. The Kings have been a fun story for the NBA this season. However, the fun will not be an option when competing against the reigning NBA champions.

Points will not be hard to come by for either team. The Sacramento Kings were involved in a game this season that saw the most points ever scored in a single game. Therefore, everyone should expect a high-scoring affair in each game played in this series. But a big question will be the health of the Warriors. If Steph Curry isn’t 100%, the Warriors will be in an absolute war in trying to reach the second round. However, the Kings will be a tough challenge with a fully healthy Curry as well.

The Golden State Warriors will continue to rewrite the history books with their talent. Curry is a generational talent surrounded by other talented superstars. Records like this are nice. Klay Thompson Ignites NBA Twitter With 33-Point First Half

Klay Thompson is a player that has been quintessential to the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty. While Thompson was injured for two seasons, the Warriors failed to make the playoffs. However, once he returned to the team, they won the title for the fourth time in the last decade. Overall, Thompson is just one of those players who knows what he is doing on the court. He understands his role and he plays it perfectly. He is a three-point machine, and when he gets hot, there is no stopping him.

Although he had a rough start to the season, Thompson has come into his own. Of course, this is great for the Warriors who are in the midst of a playoff bid. Klay always seems to step up his game when the playoffs roll around, and that is exactly what happened last night. The Warriors were playing against the Phoenix Suns, who are one of the best teams in the league right now. However, the Warriors popped off with an 11-point victory. Moreover, Thompson was the star of the show thanks to a 38-point performance. Thirty-three of those points came in the first half.

Klay Thompson Revisits Charles Barkley Feud

Klay Thompson has been through a lot this season. At the beginning of the year, he had a very slow start. In fact, there were many people out there calling him washed. Overall, this was a very premature thing to say about Thompson as he eventually came through with a 41-point game back in November.

If you love the Golden State Warriors, you know just how much Thompson means to this franchise. He has helped them win four NBA titles, and he will have his jersey raised to the rafters when all is said and done. Moreover, he is just a great teammate to Steph Curry.

Klay Thompson Vs. The Media

Just last month, Thompson found himself beefing with Charles Barkley and some of his other haters. It was a bit unbecoming, especially since Thompson eventually proved them all wrong. While speaking to Sports Illustrated’s Howard Beck, Thompson revealed how it was a mistake to acknowledge those doubters.

“Yeah, man, I’m mad I even addressed that,” Thompson said. “It’s like, only time will tell. I just gotta hoop and let the talkers talk. Like, what else do I got to prove, man? At this point, it’s all gravy, playing with house money.”

Klay Thompson Claps Back At Grizzlies Over Dynasty Claims

Klay Thompson and the Memphis Grizzlies have been in a huge rivalry as of late. The young stars of the Grizzlies like Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant have rubbed him the wrong way. Overall, he does not care for their cocky attitudes, and he has made it his mission to teach them a lesson.

On Christmas Day, the Warriors and the Grizzlies played each other in what should have been a win for the Grizzlies. Without Steph Curry, the Warriors were huge underdogs to win the match. However, Thompson rallied the troops and came through with a massive win.

Klay Thompson Taunts The Grizzlies

As you can imagine, Thompson wasn’t very charitable to the Grizzlies after the game. In fact, he had a ton of smoke for them. In the clip down below, you can see Thompson going off on the team, noting just how much their tough talk is all for nothing.

“Man, they [were] talking about dynasty and all that, you can’t talk dynasty when you haven’t won before.” Thompson explained. “I don’t think people realize how hard that is, the commitment and sacrifice it takes. You got to sacrifice your body and I thought that was premature talk to even mention that word.”

After shooting a basket over the head of Brooks, Thompson hit him with the ultimate taunt. Brooks was on the ground, although that did not stop Thompson from being a complete menace out there. The Warriors superstar continues to yell in his face, and the crowd absolutely loved it.

Overall, the new rivalry between these two teams is a whole lot of fun. Hopefully, we see them battle each other in the playoffs again, sometime soon.

The Golden State Warriors organization and thousands of their loyal fans flooded market street in San Francisco for their championship parade. The confetti-lined route saw many notable moments, including a rally and tons of champagne. There were also plenty of trending moments like Klay Thompson stumbling into a woman along the parade route.

Thompson left the championship bus and was strolling toward fans when he stumbled, he then would fall into a lady who would be knocked over. Being the gentleman and champion he is, Thompson immediately turned to the woman and helped her up.

Thompson was also spotted dancing like Michael Jackson, dropping his championship ring and chugging Hennessy.

Elsewhere during the parade, Draymond Green found Mistah F.A.B. along the parade route who was working for NBC in parade coverage. After asking was it a live TV segment and receiving a, yes, Green would drop an F-Bomb directly into the camera.
