However, they were unable to finalize anything as Durant had his heart set on the Suns.

Kevin Durant is someone who has taken a whole lot of criticism over the years. Much of this is due to the fact that he has never been shy to leave teams if they weren’t fitting the bill. Overall, he did it to the OKC Thunder. Additionally, he left the Golden State Warriors after realizing that he preferred to win on his own merits. Since then, he had been in Brooklyn where things weren’t always great for him. He had been having a rough go with Kyrie, and when Irving was traded, that certainly left a pretty bad taste in his mouth. After meeting with the Nets, it became clear that he needed to leave.

Subsequently, Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns. Overall, this was a massive move that has shaken up the entire Western Conference. Now it seems as though the Phoenix Suns are going to be the favorites to win it all. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to do it. However, with Kevin Durant on the roster, they certainly have a much better chance to do it. Regardless, with Durant leaving yet another team, there are questions being raised about how committed he is to sticking it out in one city.

Ben Simmons has not had a very good season with the Brooklyn Nets. Ever since being traded to the team, Simmons has had excuse after excuse. Overall, Nets fans are already growing tired of him. This ultimately makes the Nets a gutted team with just a few players left. One of those players is none other than Ben Simmons. Overall, this turned out to be a suspect decision as the Nets never had any real sustained success. The Kevin Durant era in Brooklyn is over. The Phoenix Suns have added Durant to their core of Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Ayton in a blockbuster trade.

According to ESPN, Durant, and T.J. Warren were traded for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, and four unprotected future first-round picks. The draft picks will be for 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029. The Suns also have an option for a 2028 pick swap.

The trade follows a teardown for the Nets, who just a week ago also had Kyrie Irving and were considered a contender to emerge from the East.

ESPN notes Durant and his business manager, Rich Kleiman, let the Nets front office know that the Phoenix deal was still their preference. For the Nets, acquiring Bridges was a requirement in the agreement.

Kevin Durant has had a very interesting time with the Brooklyn Nets. Overall, he has played incredible basketball with the team. However, thanks to the drama surrounding the team, there has yet to be any real sustained success. One could point to countless injuries and a ton of blockbuster trades that have mostly gone sour. More recently, Kyrie Irving decided to demand a trade from the Nets. Subsequently, he was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks, where he will look to change the narrative about himself.

As for KD, well, he has been left all alone with the likes of Ben Simmons. Sure, he may have some new teammates to work with, however, his superstar point guard is officially gone. Now, his whole reason for being in Brooklyn in the first place has left. Considering the fact that KD demanded a trade back in the summer, one could assume he would do this all over again. Overall, it would be absolutely disastrous to the Nets franchise. Regardless, they did a bad job of managing assets, and now, it could set them back for the next decade.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Kevin Durant has officially begun meetings with the Brooklyn Nets. Mostly, it seems like these meetings are to discuss the future of the team. Kevin Durant x Dunk Contest

Recently, Durant was on his podcast The ETCs where he spoke about the dunk contest. This year, the talent pool is slim as Mac McClung, Shaedon Sharpe, and Kenyon Martin Jr. are some of the people participating. As Durant explained, this is not going to get people to tune in.

“I think the stars need to come back,” Durant explained. “… It felt like it was stars every year when I was a kid.” This is certainly a true statement given the fact that Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have both participated in the dunk contest. Moreover, KD wants to see Zion Williamson and Ja Morant participate.
