Fans of the iconic ’90s film, Good Burger, have a reason to celebrate – a sequel is on its way! Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios have given the green light for the production of Good Burger 2, and here is everything we know about the return of the Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell classic!

Original Stars Back In Action For Good Burger 2

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, who played Dexter Reed and Ed respectively in the original film, are returning for the sequel. The news was announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger! Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal!” said Thompson​ (via The Hollywood Reporter).

New Faces

The sequel will feature Thompson and Mitchell reprising their roles, reuniting in the present day at the fast-food restaurant Good Burger. A new group of employees will join them, adding fresh faces to the mix. Phil Traill, known for his work on The Middle, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Single Drunk Female, will direct the film. Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, who were part of the original Good Burger and TV series All That, are on board as writers and executive producers​.

Kel Mitchell, who played the original cashier, Ed, expressed his excitement about the sequel. “Ed is one of those timeless characters that has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such a beautiful blessing to still be doing it after all these years. It’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids,” he said in the episode mentioned above to Fallon.

Production for the sequel is reportedly set to begin in May, with a premiere slated for later in 2023, with Dexerto reporting that it will be released in November 2023. Fans can expect to return to the world of Good Burger by the end of the year. This is exciting news for fans who have been waiting for a sequel to this beloved film​for over two decades.

Kel Mitchell From Good Burger Displays His Devotion with New Song “Blessed Mode”

Kel Mitchell has taken on a new role since starring in Nickelodeon’s iconic movie Good Burger. The two-time Emmy Award-nominated actor, producer, and comedian has now dedicated his life to God and has become a minister and an author. Now he’s taking on a new role as a gospel Hip Hop artist. 

In an effort to display his devotion to the Lord, Kel is releasing a new single “Blessed Mode,” in follow up to his book BLESSED MODE: 90 Days to Level Up Your Faith. 

This won’t be Kel’s first stab at music. Kel grew up in Chicago where he participated in rap battles as a kid with the likes of Common, had a cameo in music videos like Kanye West’s All Falls Down.

Kel shared exclusively with The Source, “My sister worked at Metro Music, a popular music store on the south side of Chicago. One day Common came to the store and I was able to battle him, but I rapped like Kriss Kross at the time.”

The All That actor added, “I love Hip Hop. Before I did theater, Hip Hop saved my life. I loved graffiti, I was on a break dance crew, and I’m so excited to be back representing God in music.”

“Blessed Mode” will be available on all music streaming platforms on March 11.
