These days, just about everyone has something to say about the trial involving Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. This week, court proceedings kicked off with a bang as Megan and her former best friend, Kelsey Nicole Harris, took the stand. From the onset of Harris’s testimony, she reportedly pleaded the fifth because she didn’t want to incriminate herself. Prosecutors went on record to state that anything Harris said during her testimony would not be used as information to file charges at a later date. After being granted immunity, Harris gave her side of the story.

In July 2020, Harris, Megan, Lanez, and Lanez’s bodyguard were together when a shooting occurred. According to Harris, Megan and Tory argued at Kylie Jenner’s house and were asked to leave. Harris confirmed that the argument continued when they got into Lanez’s vehicle.

She also told the court that it was “ridiculous” to suggest that she was the person who shot Megan. The Houston rapper has insisted for years, and on the stand, that Lanez shot at her upwards of five times as he told her, “Dance, b*tch.”

Megan previously accused Harris of taking a bribe from Lanez. She testified that Lanez offered her and Harris $1 million each to keep quiet. Harris denied she took any money.

Conversations regarding why Harris pleaded the fifth have stormed the internet. People usually do this when they have some culpability in a crime, and Keri Hilson, like many others, believes that Harris did, indeed, take money from Lanez.

“It’s giving she took the money Tory allegedly offered Megan to keep quiet,” Hilson wrote in Hollywood Unlocked’s comment section.

She continued: “I know she & Megan fell out, but after reading her testimony transcripts, it was obvious (and strange) that she didn’t even wanna defend herself from Defense’s implications. It’s giving ‘guilt of betrayal’ and hush money to me.”

She later came forward to allege that Lanez, her former friend, shot her in the foot. He denied the allegations, and during the opening statements of his trial, Lanez’s defense team contested that Kelsey Nicole Harris is the person responsible.

According to several reports that emerged today (December 12), the defense argues that Harris and Megan got into a verbal argument while inside an SUV with Lanez. He was said to have revealed he had a sexual relationship with Megan, causing a fight between the ladies. Lanez reportedly dated Harris some time prior.

Additionally, the defense team claims during this spat, Harris wasn’t surprised. She allegedly said Megan did this in the past—having sex with men she dated, including DaBaby and Ben Simmons.

After the information went viral, The Shade Room returned with a report of its own. They claim they spoke with a “source” who accused Lanez and his defense team of lying because Harris doesn’t know Simmon “at all.”

The NBA baller didn’t outright release a statement about allegedly having sex with the ex-best friends. However, he uploaded a clip of Rick Ross to his Instagram Story where the Florida icon yelled, “Accusations! False accusations!”

Meanwhile, the prosecution claims that not only did Lanez shoot Megan, but he punched Harris. They also state they have audio of a jail call from Lanez to Harris where he apologized.

Megan is reportedly set to testify this week. Harris will take the stand, as well, as a witness for the prosecution.

We’ve been tracking the updates of this case since Megan was reportedly shot in the foot in July 2020. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear, but as the trial is underway, many revelations are making their way to social media.

We previously reported that opening statements have been given today (December 12). Megan has repeatedly argued that Lanez pulled the trigger; however, his defense team has pointed the finger at Megan’s ex-best friend, Kelsey Nicole Harris. According to reports, both Lanez and Harris tested positive for gunshot residue, leaving a seed of doubt to be planted if the defense team gets its way.

Several courthouse reporters have been sharing real-time updates, causing a firestorm of reactions.

“Lanez denies being shooter,” tweeted reporter Nancy Dillon. “Megan will testify & is adamant she saw Lanez fire. Lanez’s atty plans to present theory Megan’s former best friend Kelsey Harris could have discharged gun. (Both Lanez & Harris tested+ for GSR… it travels in small spaces) Harris also due to testify.”

She added: “Lanez just walked into the courtroom holding hands with a young boy who appeared to be his son (I couldn’t get a good look, media lined up to the side). Lanez also was accompanied by his father. Not clear how long the child will stay. Judges typically restrict kids under 10.”

Dillon also wrote that Harris “will testify that she ‘saw her close friend get shot by the defendant.’” A prosecutor also “showed visual of a series of text messages that Kelsey Harris sent Megan’s bodyguard” about five minutes after the shooting. They read: “Help,” “Tory shot Meg,” and “911.”

Meanwhile, No Jumper broke down the defense and prosecution’s opening statements. Lanez claims Megan was in a “drunken jealous tirade” that caused Kylie Jenner to kick her out of a party. Lanez reportedly left with Megan, but on the ride home, an argument escalated. During the drive, Lanez revealed he and Megan slept together behind Harris’s back, and the two women turned on one another.

Harris then allegedly admitted that Megan did the same in the past with DaBaby and Ben Simmons, after Harris dated them both. Lanez says Megan demanded the car be pulled over, jumped out of the vehicle, and she and Kelsey engaged in a physical fight. A witness who lived nearby claimed he saw the fight take place.

However, the prosecution states otherwise.

During its opening statement, the prosecution alleges Harris followed Megan to help her, with Lanez close behind. When he approached, Harris walked toward Lanez “to stop him from approaching,” and that’s when he “punched Kelsey and pulled her to the ground by her hair,” reports No Jumper.

Lanez allegedly told both women to get back into the vehicle, and they did. While in the SUV, Harris sent Megan’s bodyguard a series of short text messages. Upon arrival, police discovered a “warm” firearm “in a ‘slide lock position.” Prosecutors also reportedly told the court they have “audio of Tory’s call from jail to Kelsey. He apologized profusely!”

“Mgdesyan says Stogner, who was the investigating officer who interviewed Megan The Stallion after the shooting, is a critical witness for the defense. He told court he plans to call him under the theory Stogner ‘botched’ the investigation. Judge says he would allow.”

Reports stated that the defense team plans to call Kris Jenner’s partner Corey Gamble and daughter Kylie Jenner as witnesses. Just before the shooting, Megan, Lanez, and Jenner appeared together on Instagram Live as they partied at the mansion and enjoyed its swimming pool. It is unclear what Jenner may have witnessed, but the rumors have been unending.
