Lil Wayne Serves Up “Kat Food” On The Latest “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

September started off on a high note thanks to a New Music Friday loaded with hot releases from some of the biggest names in hip-hop. Above all else, we were happiest to hear from Lil Wayne yesterday on his “Kat Food” single, which took the No. 1 spot on our Fire Emoji update. The Louisana native teased the track on social media in the days leading up to its release, and we’ve been playing it consistently since it first landed on DSPs. Speaking of felines, Doja Cat also had a new song for us ahead of her highly anticipated Scarlet album.

As she continues to see “Paint The Town Red” find massive success on the charts, the California native showed us her “Demons” this month. In the song’s accompanying visual, Doja looks more chilling than ever in her sinister body makeup, though her lyricism is earning mass praise across social media. Interestingly, she and Lil Wayne have both been named as performers for the upcoming MTV VMAsm and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the fall.

Lil Wayne’s ‘Kat Food’ Single Isn’t An Anthem For The Humane Society, But Rather A Raunchy Dedication To His Favorite Meal

Just days ago, Lil Wayne stepped back into the booth to re-imagine Undisputed’s theme song. Now, the rapper has turned his attention to righting a wrong from 2008. On his certified diamond song, “Lollipop,” he proudly proclaimed that the man’s nether regions were sweet like candy. But in his new single, “Kat Food,” he is returning that crown to the lady’s delicate part.

The record, co-produced by Charlie Handsome, FNZ, and Rogét Chahayed, is a raunchy dedication to one of Lil Wayne’s favorite meals, or so fans learned during his 2011 Nardwuar interview. Pulling in a sample of Missy Elliott’s 20o2 single “Work It,” Lil Wayne takes his time as he professes his love for cunnilingus.

By the titling of the track, the messaging may not be as clear, but when he raps, “I’m daydreamin’, I’m Codeinin’ / I’m slow walkin’, I’m floatin’, Houdini / My ho, she screamin’, for more, she fiendin’ / I just turned her daydreams to wet dreams, no bikini / Ooh, no bikini, ooh, no demeanor / I just put it all up in her face, woah, Noxzema / Bad b*tches all up on my case, no subpoena / Cat hangin’ out that catsuit, ooh, Serena / Ooh, Serena, ooh, Serena / Cat hanging out that catsuit, ooh, Serena / Woah, I eat her, like, hyena / Come here, girl, I got that cat food, ooh, Purina / Ooh, Purina, it’s wet, Katrina / Cat hangin’ out that catsuit, ooh, that cheetah,” there’s no grey area.

Lil Wayne Returns With Bouncy New Single “Kat Food”

Lil Wayne is easily one of the biggest legends in the hip-hop world. Overall, if you were to ask people who their favorite MC is, more often than not, they would say it is Wayne. He remains in a lot of people’s top 10s, and that probably will not change anytime soon. However, it has been a while since we’ve gotten a new album or even a song from him. Sure, he dropped the new Undisputed theme song, although that hardly counts.

Thankfully, it was revealed earlier this week that Wayne would be coming through with a brand-new song called “Kat Food.” Given the name of the track, fans were very curious as to what we would be getting here. Over the course of his career, Wayne has given a plethora of different flows, production choices, and overall sounds. That said, every new Wayne single always seems to give us something special. Below, you can listen to what Wayne has been cooking up. Needless to say, it’s yet another example of the artist trying to evolve.

Lil Wayne Is Back

With this track, there is some interesting production that feels a bit off-kilter at the beginning. However, the track eventually evolves into something bouncier, which allows Wayne’s flow to settle down. The artist gives us plenty of cat metaphors throughout the track, and his lyricism is on point, once again. If you have always loved Wayne, then this track will definitely be for you. Although, some may not love this new direction.

Let us know what you think of this brand-new song, in the comments section below. Additionally, be sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always bring you the biggest releases from the biggest artists in the world.
