Bizzy Bone Takes Shots At Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” Dance Craze

In a surprising turn of events, Bizzy Bone, the legendary member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, has voiced his disapproval of Lil Uzi Vert’s viral dance craze, “Just Wanna Rock.” The seasoned rapper didn’t hold back, taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday (January 24) to express his candid thoughts on the trend, and the verdict is far from favorable. In a straightforward critique, Bizzy Bone didn’t mince words. He labels the dance as “zesty.” In the world of hip-hop, where trends often gain traction and influence, Bizzy Bone’s comments provide a distinct perspective. Challenging the cool factor associated with Lil Uzi Vert’s dance sensation.

In his Instagram Stories, Bizzy Bone directly addressed the issue, stating, “Imma say it. The dance is zesty. The Lil Uzi Vert dance is zesty. That’s why he made it up. To make ya’ll look zesty. No matter how hard you try you cannot make it look cool. You acting zesty, period.” Moreover, the use of the term “zesty” in this context adds a layer of candidness to Bizzy Bone’s critique. Suggesting that he perceives the dance as flamboyant. In addition to unconventional. “Love bizzy but these old niggas gotta chill man,” one person commented. “Bizzy pushing that old rhetoric that we no longer have any use for,” said someone else.

With all of that being said, LeBron James was enjoying himself last night after his big outing at the ESPYs. He went to the after party, and someone was able to capture him dancing along to music. In fact, the song that was being played was a mashup of Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” and Meek Mill’s “Dreams And Nightmares” intro. The beat of the song was from Uzi’s track, all while Meek’s rapping was placed on top of it. Overall, it makes for an interesting mashup, and LeBron definitely agreed.

Shaquille O’Neal Mashes Up Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” & Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares”

Shaquille O’Neal blended Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” and Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” during a recent performance in Philadelphia. The mash-up comes after a viral debate concerning whether Uzi’s song replaced Meek’s as the anthem for the city of Philadelphia.

DJ Diesel had been performing during the Phillies’ home matchup against the Nationals from Citizens Bank Park. Sharing a clip of the set on TikTok, Shaq wrote: “when in Philly..” while tagging both artists.

DJ Drama was the first one to spark the debate on “Just Wanna Rock” versus “Dreams and Nightmares.” The Philadelphia Eagles had previously walked out to Uzi’s track during their NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers. “I think it’s fair to say that ‘Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced—with all due respect—‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia, as the new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year,” Drama told TMZ. “I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times [throughout] Super Bowl weekend.”

Despite the debate, Uzi admitted they side with Meek’s “Dreams and Nightmares” when asked which song is Philly’s anthem. “I don’t think so,” Uzi told Revolt TV. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.”

He continued: “[Meek’s] a big homie from Philly, and that’s like one of my big homies. So I just like, feed off the energy that he gives actually to be able to even produce or put out that type of music. So like, hopefully. Like shit, hopefully he would hope that for me too. Not yet, though – it’s too early to tell.”

Lil Uzi Vert Finally Releases “Pink Tape” In All Of Its Glory

After much anticipation and many teasers, Lil Uzi Vert has arrived with his new album, Pink Tape. In the last few months, they and the Generation Now team have hinted at the project’s release, although both parties kept most details surrounding the album under wraps. Finally, the rapper came through with their latest body of work with 26 songs in total. It’s a mesmerizing body of work that continues to carve out Lil Uzi Vert’s colorful and vibrant space in hip-hop.

The rapper’s latest body of work includes some familiar collaborators. Travis Scott appears on “Aye,” which he previewed at a concert on Thursday night (June 29). Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj comes through with another stand-out verse on “Endless Fashion,” extending their track record together. Additionally, the project includes appearances from Don Toliver, Baby Metal, and Bring Me The Horizon. Uzi brings together an eclectic group of collaborators to bring his vision to life, although some might be disappointed that Playboi Carti isn’t anywhere to be seen.

Pink Tape Arrives

It’s been a busy rollout for Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape. The rapper began the campaign for the album with the release of their viral single, “Just Wanna Rock,” – a song that they performed at the Grammys and most recently, at the 2023 BET Awards, where he also debuted a new song from Pink Tape. However, “Just Wanna Rock” became a vibrant anthem that undoubtedly helped popularize the growing trend of Jersey Club production in hip-hop these days. It also spurred a conversation on whether it surpassed Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” as the official anthem of Philadelphia. However, Uzi denies that that’s the case.

Pink Tape serves as the official follow-up to 2020’s Eternal Atake, as well as his deluxe edition, Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World 2. Since then, they continued to keep a stream of music on the way, including his collaborative effort with Future, Pluto X Baby Pluto, and Red & White EP. Uzi’s also been coming through with several stand-out guest verses on records with Veeze, Yeat, Lil Baby, and even Drake, although that particular collaboration has yet to surface. We’ll keep you posted on that but for now, press play on Pink Tape and let us know if it lives up to the hype.

Lil Uzi Vert Opened The 2023 BET Awards With A Performance Of ‘Just Wanna Rock’ And An Unreleased Track

The 2023 BET Awards are celebrating 50 years of hip-hop with an emphasis on the genre’s pioneers. However, they haven’t forgotten about the new school. Opening up the ceremony was Lil Uzi Vert with a performance of his hit song “Just Wanna Rock.” With an army of dancers by their side, the Philadelphia native highlighted rap music’s incorporation of dance sub-genres like Jersey Club.

Although they weren’t nominated in any categories this year, that didn’t stop Lil Uzi Vert from using the time to tease what’s come from their upcoming project, The Pink Tape. Right before they wowed the crowd with “Just Wanna Rock,” the rapper played a snippet from an unreleased song.

During an Instagram live stream with popular streamer Kai Cenat, Lil Uzi Vert personally shared details about the forthcoming release. During the broadcast, Uzi revealed that all songs for the album had been chosen. According to the musician, The Pink Tape will feature 24 tracks, including their smash single “Just Wanna Rock.”

In addition to those songs, fans will be treated to two bonus tracks that, in their words, “A lot of people love but didn’t really get to hear.”

The official cover for the album and full tracklist is rumored to come out this week.

Lil Uzi Vert is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Uzi Vert Makes Interesting Admission About “Just Wanna Rock”

Lil Uzi Vert came out with a hit when they dropped “Just Wanna Rock” back in 2022. Overall, this was a song that took a lot of people by surprise. This is mostly due to the huge shift in sound. This was a Jersey club banger that saw Uzi delivering some of their most off-kilter vocals yet. Additionally, the production was unlike anything that Uzi had ever rapped over. In the end, fans were quite impressed by it, and for some, it has replaced “Dreams And Nightmares” as the Philadelphia anthem.

Recently, Uzi got to speak to 032 Magazine where they touched on a plethora of topics. For instance, they explained why they changed their pronouns. Furthermore, they gave a rundown of their stint in rehab. In addition to all of this, they also spoke on “Just Wanna Rock” and how the whole track came together. As it turns out, the song is unfinished, although Uzi isn’t pressed about it. “Yeah, I make experimental music,” Lil Uzi Vert said. “That song is definitely unfinished. The end of the beat is messed up too.”

Lil Uzi Vert On “Just Wanna Rock”

From there, the artist went on to say that doing this song always made sense to them. At the end of the day, it is the culture they grew up around. Lil Uzi Vert even referenced their beginnings as a dancer. “People forgot I was a dancer before I was a rapper,” they explained. “I didn’t make any of this up, that’s how cool kids from Philly and Jersey dance – so I’m only a product of my environment. I’m just shining a light on that culture.”

With The Pink Tape on the horizon, fans are curious to hear what Uzi might decide to do next. Whatever it is, there is no doubt that fans are going to be excited to hear it. Let us know your thoughts on “Just Wanna Rock,” in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

Mannie Fresh Labels Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up” The Best Love Song Of All Time

Mannie Fresh says that “Back That Azz Up,” from Juvenile’s 400 Degreez album is “the greatest love song of all time.” He made his selection during an interview with HipHopDX at the 2023 Lovers and Friends Festival. Mannie was joined by Pimpin’ and Parlae of Dem Franchize Boyz at the event.

Fresh argued that Dem Franchize Boyz are one of the last artists that made dance music and liked to have fun. Nowadays, Mannie says artists are too focused on who is the most gangster. “Like wait, y’all ain’t dancing no more? Y’all that gangsta?” he asked. “I love when people smile and have fun, ain’t nothing wrong with that.”

From there, Pimpin’ and Parlae chimed in to reveal some of his favorite artists who are making music right now. He noted Lil Uzi Vert and his hit song, “Just Wanna Rock.” An accompanying dance popularized by Drew Jeeezy went viral on TikTok. “It ain’t a diss but you probably not gonna hear none of the new shit played at a wedding reception five years from now,” Mannie said of current songs.

Mannie Fresh On “Back That Azz Up”

This isn’t the first time that Mannie has expressed uncertainty about the current state of hip-hop. Back in 2022, he discussed where hip-hop will be in 50 years during an interview with Vibe. “This is not to hurt any feelings, but if your feelings hurt, so be it,” he began at the time. “I think in order for it to keep growing and be bigger and better, this generation got to pay attention to the last generation. You got to know where it came from. You can’t just keep going forward, going, ‘I don’t give a shit. I’m about the money.’ We going to destroy hip-hop. Do I want you to get paid? Of course. If you did the job, and you showed up or whatever, do that. But if you don’t know nothing about it, then that’s kind of corny.”

Beyoncé Does Lil Uzi’s “Just Wanna Rock” Dance On Tour: Watch

Beyoncé just kicked off her “Renaissance” tour in Stockholm, Sweden. There have been plenty of headlines coming from the first night of the tour. Before the show, fans were eagerly waiting for the setlist. Luckily, they were able to see it early thanks to a video of the tour book being uploaded. The tour book showed a preliminary setlist with some songs circled, starred, and crossed out. Now that the first night of the tour has concluded, fans finally have the full, 36-song setlist. However, Beyoncé did take a moment during the concert to remind fans who is in charge.

Since the release of Beyoncé’s latest album last year, fans have been begging for some sort of visuals. Generally, visuals are a huge part of any album the iconic artist releases. So, it’s no surprise that the main question on fans’ minds has been, “Where are the visuals?” Hilariously, a segment of Beyoncé’s set provided a very direct response to this question. In the intro to “Formation,” a narrator provides a voice-over as the words are displayed on huge screens. “I know you hear me. You’ve asked for the visuals,” the disembodied voice says. “You’ve called for the queen, but a queen moves at her own pace, b*tch.”

Yoncé Just Wants To Rock

There were plenty of classic Beyoncé moments on the first night of the tour. At one point during the show, she showcased her dance moves by doing her own version of Lil Uzi Vert’s famous “Just Wanna Rock” dance. The Lemonade singer was captured on video performing the popular dance as a mash-up with her hit song “Diva.” Her enthusiastic dance moves caused quite a stir among the audience.

The clip has since gone viral on social media platforms, with fans thrilled by the sight of the iconic singer dancing to the catchy beat of Uzi’s track. It’s evident from the video that Beyoncé took the dance very seriously. As always, she gave it her all and proved again why she is considered one of the greatest performers of our time. What do you think of all of the clips from the first night of the “Renaissance” Tour? Sound off in the comments!

Lil Kim Puts Her Twist On Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” Dance At Lovers & Friends

Of course, the biggest story surrounding the Lovers & Friends Festival surrounds its host Usher’s alleged scuffle with Chris Brown. However, that doesn’t mean that there weren’t excellent performances at the event all around, such as Lil Kim. Moreover, the hip-hop icon graced the stage on Saturday (May 6) with a rundown of some of the most iconic points in her catalog. Still, she made some time to shout out the newer generation and add her own twist to it. At one point during her set, she danced along to Lil Uzi Vert’s massive hit “Just Wanna Rock.”

However, not every fan was happy with the performance, or reacted to it with the same enthusiasm. While many applauded her for doing her thing and having fun while doing so, others came through with more criticism, pointing out her dance moves or her body. Unfortunately, it’s pushback that Lil Kim always dealt with throughout her career, and brushed off each time. Whether it’s her legal issues or her place in the culture, the 48-year-old still garners a lot of conversation and discussion on her legacy.

Lil Kim Just Wants To Rock At Festival Performance

In fact, more recent teases point to that legacy facing off against another in a big way, especially considering past beef. Furthermore, Swizz Beatz recently led fans to believe that a Verzuz battle between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj would be coming soon. “I can’t say, I can’t say,” he responded to questions on The Breakfast Club about the potential matchup. “So there’s still a possibility?” DJ Envy inquired. “Yeah, I can’t say. I can’t say,” the producer replied. “But just know if you’re going to wait this long for Verzuz, if we gone have you wait this long, it’s definitely going to be worth it. If I’m being quiet, things are happening. It was important for us to take a break and organize what we have and actually understand what we have.”

Meanwhile, the “Crush On You” MC will share her story on Audible’s hip hop series coming this summer. With that in mind, perhaps she’s now in a place where she wants to celebrate and look back on her illustrious career. Be it through a Verzuz matchup or another dance homage to a contemporary hit, her name is here to stay. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Kim.
